Chapter 128 126 - Reawakening
Milo went to bed that night thinking of who he should tell he reawakened. He hadn't used any abilities since fighting the Fellowship besides the Beast Whisperer ability that became the Beast Lord ability, which didn't have any flashy visual effects when being used. Because of this he thought maybe he could talk to Jorge or David about it. Maybe Mikael could help him out as well. Milo could use him pushing himself against the cardinal as an excuse, playing it off as a catalyst that caused the reawakening. A life or death situation was the most common reason a gatecrasher had a reawakening afterall.
With his plan decided upon, Milo now had to set it into motion. After coming up with the idea he decided he would just request a meeting with Jorge and tell him up front, it was better to be blunt about this sort of thing, and by confessing to Jorge, his role as a guildmaster would most likely allow him to know how to keep it quiet without the media finding out. Afterall, Jorge said that they would give him any support he needed.
Milo requested a meeting with Jorge when he woke up and Jorge told him to come up to his office whenever he was ready. Milo took the elevator to the top floor and entered the office before taking a seat.
"What'd you need Milo?" Jorge asked after Milo took a seat across from him. The request seemed urgent, so Jorge was a bit worried about what the issue was, he had heard about the Fellowship members losing their abilities and was worried Milo was affected by it as well.
"There's something that happened to me when I was fighting the Fellowship," Milo said. He then went into a made up, but believable story about how during the fight he felt his Magic Power explode and he found he could use more than just Ice. This was the common thing people felt during reawakening, Jorge was shocked hearing this, because the Fellowship wiped all the surveillance from that day, no one could confirm this other than seeing Milo use more than one element, this also could explain why Milo was able to defeat so many members of the Fellowship on his own.
"I just went through a lot and I don't want to be hounded by reporters about this, especially since I lost my cousin in the attack," Milo continued. Jorge nodded in understanding, it made sense. Who in their right mind would want to be plastered all over the news after losing a close family member in that way? Jorge told Milo that he would handle it with the Academy and let them know what was going on, he also said he'd let Mikael know, as he had connections inside the association that could update his ability information without it leaking to the media.
"If I may ask, how many elements can you control," Jorge asked.
"All of them," Milo said, causing Jorge's jaw to drop. He thought Milo was kidding at first, but the look in Milo's eyes showed that he was telling the truth.
"Can you show me?" Jorge asked in excitement, he already thought Milo was extremely talented with just the Ice ability but if he truly could wield all 6 elements then he would be unimaginably powerful.
Milo wanted to test his abilities in the simulation anyways so he agreed and he and Jorge made their way down to the simulation room. While on the way, Milo had the tutorial for the ability playing on the way, he didn't want to look like an idiot when trying to use the ability so he wanted to know the basic ways to use the ability before entering the simulation with the gatecrasher known as the Reaper.
When they arrived at the floor with the Virtual Reality Stations, they entered the first room and both logged in, Milo and Jorge both appeared in the same lobby and Jorge stood back to allow Milo to show off his reawakened power. Milo did what the system tutorial said and activated the Disaster ability, he first tried to form ice spears like he had done previously, it worked without any issue. He then tried to make a small fireball in his hand, it took a bit of concentration since it was his first time trying, but it was successful. The next element he tried was earth, then water, then air. He ended the demonstration by firing off a lightning bolt, baptizing a training dummy with electricity.
Seeing that Milo wasn't kidding about using all the elements, Jorge was shaking from witnessing the event. Milo was already someone who greatly interested Jorge and now he had gained an unbelievable power by reawakening. He reassured Milo that he would handle everything before returning to his office, still shaking from the experience in the simulation.
Once he had left, Milo practiced more and more, eventually attempting to combine elements, like the system said was possible, the Ice ability he had previously was already proof that it was possible but now he could use all the other elements as well. There were some limitations to this, at most Milo found that he could combine 3 elements if they weren't opposing attributes. For example if he tried to create flaming ice spears it wouldn't work. His tests allowed him to learn that he could create blizzards by combining Frost, Wind and Water. He could make a thunderstorm with Lightning, Wind, and Water. The one that was the hardest to combine elements with was Fire, he could only find ways to combine one other element with the Fire attribute, but they were overall more destructive than others, such as forming small volcanoes by combining it with the Earth element, or tornados of fire when combining it with wind. Overall the ability was extremely versatile and with enough creativity would be unbelievably strong. The level of concentration it took to combine the elements took a lot out of Milo, but maybe by increasing his intelligence stat this could change.
Milo went into a low ranked gate simulation to try out all the system changes that he had gotten over the week. The first thing he attempted was to use Beast Lord ability, just like it said, Milo could read the thoughts of the beasts that he encountered, because of this, he was able to tell where the beasts were targeting on his body and also what type of attack they planned to use. He chose a low ranked gate so the beasts he was facing were of the low tier. Because of this, he chose to try the Predator's Eyes ability next. He activated the ability and his eyes glowed yellow, his pupils slitted like the eyes of a snake. Once he did so, he could see the vital areas of the beast like usual. He lowered its health and once it was close to dying, the beast's entire body lit up red symbolizing that it was on the verge of death. Seeing this, it would allow Milo to raise the level of Alucard even faster, as he could weaken it and allow his tame to finish the beast off and gain the experience, a purposeful kill steal if you will. He then tried to use the stun effect, he tested it a few times and after 2 failed attempts, he locked eyes with a third beast and it shrunk back and a system screen appeared informing Milo that the beast had been successfully stunned. It didn't work as often as Milo hoped but it would be useful nonetheless. Knowing the system, the chance to stun would most likely go up as the ability's level increased as well.
Overall, all the upgrades to his system made Milo a much more formidable force than before. He was pleased with the results as he zapped another beast with lightning from the Disaster ability. Being able to control all elements gave him a ton of versatility and he wouldn't be stuck if the beasts he fought were resistant to a certain element as he could just swap which elements he used depending on what he encountered.
Not only this, but the upgrades that happened with his other abilities were very useful as well. Once he found a recovery ability and a better tanking ability, it was safe to say that he would be a one man strike force. Milo continued to test the new abilities for the rest of that day, he found he could now combo Disaster with Ghoul's Bane in more ways, previously he could only freeze it into a massive blade, but now he could electrify or light the whip on fire. He could also do the same when in sword mode. Overall he'd have to experiment more to find every possible thing that was possible, with enough creativity there would be close to an endless amount of possibilities.
Eventually he had grown tired and decided to retire to his room for the day. When he returned he fed Alucard and climbed into bed. Alucard had grown a significant amount while he was unconscious. He had also grown to level 9 during the fight with the Fellowship which meant he was only one level away from unlocking a new skill. The snake had grown even smarter while staying with his team members, his vernacular was growing and he seemed to show more emotion as well. Overall his baby snake was growing up. Milo laid down in the bed of his dorm and fell into a deep sleep, exhausted mentally from trying his new powers all day.
