MY SUGAR MUMMY IS A BEAUTIFUL VAMPIRE

Chapter 392: A true monster

The dark circles crept up the building's exterior, an eerie prelude to the confrontation about to unfold. As they reached the rooftop, shimmering like static on an old television, Reggie and Randal materialized from the shadows. Their eyes glowed fiercely in the pre-dawn light, fixed on Elena's back as she stood motionless at the railing, her gaze locked on a distant figure approaching the brothel.

Reggie broke the tense silence, his voice low and controlled. "You did a good job hiding from us all these years, Elena. But we've finally found you." He paused, allowing the weight of his words to sink in. "We can make this quick. Just give us what we came for."

Elena didn't flinch, her eyes never leaving the mysterious figure in the distance. Her voice dripped with disdain as she responded, "And what exactly is it that you want? Revenge?" She let out a bitter laugh.

"I see no reason for it. My plans, as much as I hate to admit it, failed. My dear sister Rose is with the man she loves, and they even have a child together. How beautifully nauseating." Her tone was mocking, devoid of any genuine emotion. "Everyone got their happy ending except me. So tell me, what more could you possibly want from me?"

Her callous words ignited a fire within Reggie. The normally composed vampire knight felt his carefully maintained control slipping away. In a swift motion, he pulled down the shadow mask covering his face, his features contorted with rage.

"What?!" Reggie snarled, his voice trembling with barely contained fury. "You think no one was harmed? You dare to stand there and claim everything is fine?"

Elena's lips curled into a cruel smirk, still refusing to turn away from the approaching figure. "Oh, did I strike a nerve, Reggie dear?"

Her nonchalance only fueled Reggie's anger. "You ended an entire bloodline, Elena! A whole community of people wiped out because of your actions on that island two years ago." His voice cracked with emotion. "My wife, Nana... her entire family was from that bloodline. Because of you, she has no mother, no father, no brother to call upon.

And you have the audacity to stand there and say everything is fine?!"

Elena chuckled, the sound devoid of any warmth. "Oh, Reggie. I'm surprised, truly. To think you settled for a human mate. How... quaint." She spat the last word like it left a bad taste in her mouth.

"You know nothing of love or family," Reggie growled, his hands clenching into fists at his sides.

"Love? Family?" Elena scoffed, her eyes still fixed on the horizon. "Such trivial concepts. Power is the only thing that matters in this world. Everything else is just a distraction, a weakness to be exploited."

Randal, who had remained silent until now, stepped forward. "How can you be so heartless? Those were innocent people!"

Elena's laugh was cold and brittle. "Innocent? There are no innocents in this world, my dear Randal. Only the strong and the weak. Those people were simply... inconvenient to my plans.

Their deaths served a greater purpose."

"And what purpose could possibly justify such senseless slaughter?" Reggie demanded, his voice thick with disgust.

Elena sighed dramatically. "Oh, must I spell everything out for you? Their deaths were a message, a demonstration of power. In this world, you either dominate or you're dominated. I chose the former."

"You're a monster," Randal whispered, horrified by her lack of remorse.

"Monster? How pedestrian," Elena sneered. "I'm a visionary. I see the world as it truly is, not clouded by foolish notions of morality or compassion. Those are luxuries for the weak."

Reggie took a menacing step forward. "And what about the children? The infants who had barely begun to live?"

For the first time, Elena's eyes flickered away from the distant figure, meeting Reggie's gaze with a look of utter contempt. "Collateral damage. In the grand scheme of things, their lives were insignificant. A small price to pay for the power I sought."

"How can you say that?" Randal's voice was barely above a whisper, filled with horror and disbelief.

Elena's lips curled into a cruel smile. "Quite easily, actually. You see, I've long since moved past such petty concerns as guilt or remorse. They're unnecessary burdens that only hold you back from achieving true greatness."

"Greatness?" Reggie spat. "You call mass murder greatness?"

"I call it necessity," Elena replied coolly. "In this world, you either evolve or you perish. I chose to evolve beyond the constraints of human morality. It's truly liberating, you know. You should try it sometime."

The air crackled with tension as Reggie and Randal struggled to comprehend the depth of Elena's depravity. She stood there, unflinching, her gaze once again fixed on the approaching figure in the distance.

"You won't get away with this," Reggie growled, his voice low and dangerous.

Elena laughed, the sound sharp and mocking. "Get away with it? My dear Reggie, I already have. Look at me. I'm still here, still in power. While you and your pathetic band of do-gooders have been chasing shadows, I've been building an empire."

"An empire built on blood and suffering," Randal interjected.

"The strongest foundations often are," Elena replied nonchalantly. "Your problem is that you're too attached to outdated concepts of right and wrong. In this new world, there is only power and those too weak to seek it."

"We'll stop you," Reggie declared, his voice filled with determination.

Elena's lips curled into a patronizing smile. "Oh, you can certainly try. But ask yourselves this: even if you manage to defeat me, what then? Do you think the world will suddenly become a better place? That all the wrongs will be righted?" She shook her head, her eyes gleaming with malice. "No, my dear boys.

There will always be someone like me. Because deep down, this is what the world truly wants. It craves the order that only true power can bring."

As she spoke these callous words, her eyes remained fixed on the mysterious figure approaching in the distance. There was something about this newcomer that held her attention, a sense of foreboding that even her confrontation with Reggie and Randal couldn't overshadow.

"You're wrong," Randal said, his voice gaining strength. "There are still good people in this world, people who will stand against the darkness you represent."

Elena's laughter was cold and mirthless. "Good people? How charmingly naive. Those 'good people' you speak of are nothing more than sheep, waiting for someone strong enough to lead them. And I, my dear Randal, am the wolf they've been waiting for."

As the first rays of dawn began to break over the horizon, Elena stood tall, unrepentant and unbroken. To the knights who listened, it was clear that here stood a true monster, one without hope of redemption, her soul as black as the night that was slowly fading away.
