My Unconventional Lover: Seeing A Different World

Chapter 79

Chapter 79: Human Blood and Sacrifices

“All the more reason for me to eradicate you for good!” Tom growled as he pounced on it even more ferociously.

The shrill cry was heard from its figure as its appearance shifted to its original form. The cry sounded agonizing and those who could hear it would have goosebumps all over their body.

Just imagine a piece of flesh was ripped apart from one’s body. Only, instead of flesh, it was a small part of its black shadow was ripped by Tom’s claws and dissipated in the dark night.

No wonder it would cry like that.

After its cry, the noise downstairs was even more obvious as those girls living in the first floor were all screaming in fright. I bet they all had run out of the house now.

“I underestimate it.” I heard Sanji mumbled. “It is so strong. Its host must come from a strong family, too. Too bad they’re too involved in dark magic. It craves human blood and sacrifices. I can’t eliminate it right away, but I can drive it away. Unless we find the host, we really can’t do anything.” Sanji added in firm tone.

Human blood and sacrifices? I frowned as I heard that.

.....

Something clicked inside my mind and my eyes widened in shock.

It can’t be, right? I must be wrong.

I shook my head as I tried to deny the horrible thought that came into my mind so suddenly.

Senior Rizal wouldn’t be the sacrifice. He couldn’t be.

I failed to watch how Sanji and Tom worked together to drive it away. The only thing I knew was the angry roar filled with agony and promise of revenge was directed at me.

Surprisingly, after it left, the dark night seemed to be a bit brighter.

Then, I heard someone was calling out for me. It was Mrs. Rosa’s voice, trembling with fear but still calling me out.

“J-Jane? Come down, dear. It’s not safe up there.”

I exchanged glances with Tom and Sanji. Seeing the both of them nodded their head while giving me a look; don’t tell anyone about what had happened just now, I took a deep breath and put on terrified expression before I headed downstairs.

“Mrs. Rosa? What was it? It’s so scary!”

As soon as I saw the relief expression in her tired face, I felt a pang of guilt inside for acting like this.

“We don’t know yet. I’m glad you’re fine. Let’s head outside first. Come on. I’ve called for help, he might come in several minutes. Come on.” Mrs. Rosa held me by my shoulders tightly as she led me outside, to join with the rest pale-faced girls. As I was being led by Mrs. Rosa, I saw Sanji tip-toed to the back door. I bet it was Tom who told him about the back door.

As soon as my friends saw me, they rushed to me and pulled me in a group hug while asking me if I were okay.

“I’m okay. I just...” I shook my head in confusion, still maintaining my acting. “What was that? All I know I heard scary cries, and I couldn’t move if not for Mrs. Rosa calling me.”

Deep inside, I had the urge to praise myself for being so convincing.

All of them shook their heads. “But, you’re pretty strong. If it had been me, I would have peed myself, or fainted.” Angie shivered at the possibility she mentioned.

“I would have bawled my eyes out of fear.” Riri added with a terrified look on her face. “Of course, only if I would not faint before that.” From her expression, both were not good options for her.

Responding to their statements, I could only let out hollow laugh. My acting should be good enough to deceive them, right? Then, why did I think that I would get exposed easily?

Minutes later, a man came in a hurry and approached Mrs. Rosa. Somehow, he resembled Tom a bit. His eyes, eyebrows, and jaws were the most similar I could see. I couldn’t help but notice the similarity between them because he was standing close to me.

“Sis, I came as soon as I got your message. Tania said there was something strange happened? What is it?”

Oh, so he was Mrs. Rosa’s younger brother. No wonder he looked like Tom.

“Ben, thanks God you’re here!” I could hear the relief in her voice. She must be feeling so frightened.

Mrs. Rosa told him the story of how she and the rest of the girls heard the noise and ran out in fright. Hearing the story from their point of view made me nodded in silence.

If I were them, I would run away, too. However, since I was the related party, I had different point of view from them.

The only thing I agreed with was how scary it was.

I was too engrossed in my own world that I didn’t notice the man’s gaze had shifted from Mrs. Rosa to me.

“She is the one who lives upstairs.” Mrs. Rosa’s voice snapped me awake and realized that he was looking at me with a gaze that looked like he was saying: I know what you’re hiding.
