With the plan set, Long Yu turned to Yao Ran and said, "Ran Ran, I will go with A Xuan to handle the stone. Can you stay here and guard the villa?"

Yao Ran nodded. "Leave this place to me. You two must be careful outside."

"Understood," Long Yu replied.

Before leaving, Yao Ran handed them two sets of protective gear, respiratory masks, night vision goggles, and a piece of equipment to monitor the toxicity in the air. Once prepared, Long Yu and Shi Xuan exited the villa via the second-floor balcony.

After they left, Yao Ran locked the metal door and decided to take a shower.

On their way to the slum, Shi Xuan used the drone to scout the area while Long Yu looked at the screen and led the way. After walking through the sand for hours, the two of them finally reached the slum.

As they approached the alley, Long Yu took control of the drone and reminded Shi Xuan. "Be careful."

Shi Xuan nodded, "Yes, Captain."

Before stepping closer, Long Yu used his wind-element energy to create a barrier around them. Once he finished, he said, "Let's go."

Walking into the alley, Long Yu activated the equipment to check the air for toxicity. After examining the numbers on the screen, he said, "No toxic gas detected. You can start."

Shi Xuan nodded and used his space element energy to isolate the stone, carefully creating a vacuum area around it with precise movements of his fingers.

When he was done, Shi Xuan said, "Captain, it's ready."

Long Yu nodded and asked, "Can you destroy it with your space ability?"

Shi Xuan pondered the question before replying, "I will give it a try."

Shi Xuan focused his mind and increased the pressure within the vacuum area. After several minutes, cracks formed on the stone's surface, and eventually, it disintegrated into dust.

Shi Xuan breathed a sigh of relief, turned to Long Yu, and asked, "Captain, can you check if any toxic gas escaped the vacuum area?"

"Alright."

Long Yu moved closer to the floating dust while monitoring the equipment's screen. After confirming that everything was normal, he said, "No toxic gas was detected."

Hearing that, Shi Xuan asked, "Captain, what should we do with the dust?"

Long Yu studied the dust within the vacuum space and asked, "How far can you teleport objects now?"

"My maximum range is five kilometers," Shi Xuan answered.

After a moment of thought, Long Yu ordered, "Teleport it to the contaminated soil as far away as possible."

The soil after the acid rain and radiation was already unusable for farming due to contamination, making it an ideal disposal site.

Accepting the order, Shi Xuan nodded, "Yes, Captain."

With a flick of his hand, the dust disappeared. Exhaling deeply, he said, "It's done."

As they began inspecting the parts of the base they hadn't checked yet, distant howling sounds interrupted their patrol.

When they arrived, Yao Ran had already prepared dinner and was waiting for them. Seeing them return safely, she said, "It's already past dinnertime. Let's eat first."

After dinner, the three gathered in the third-floor living room. Sitting on the couch, Shi Xuan sighed, "Without the sun, everything feels strange and off."

Yao Ran nodded in agreement. "This eternal night makes it hard to keep track of time. Thankfully, we have a watch to check the time. Otherwise, we wouldn't know what time it is now."

Just as she finished speaking, a wolf's howl echoed through the night.

The next morning, Yao Ran woke up and glanced at her watch. Seeing it was only four o'clock, she got out of bed quietly to avoid disturbing Long Yu's sleep. After bathing, she came out of

the bathroom to find him awake.
