Chapter 47: | 047 | UNS Trinity of Solace
●| UNS Trinity of Solace |
➤| The UNS Trinity of Solace is a Modernized Iowa-Class Battleship of the Fast Battleship designation. It is an entirely refurbished and modernized battleship of the old era outfitted with the latest radar technology and the updated Aegis combat system. |
➤| As such, the battleship is capable of Anti-Air Warfare(AAW), Anti-Submarine Warfare(ASW), and Anti-Surface Warfare(ASuW). It has completely overhauled its old designs and is entirely replaced with modern effective systems. |
➤| The Trinity of Solace has a gargantuan displacement of 60,000 long tons with a length of 270 meters and a beam of 33 meters high. With its Westinghouse A4W nuclear reactor, the Modernized Battleship can reach up to speeds of 35 knots. |
➤| Its current complement is about 690 officers and enlisted personnel, primarily because of its modernization program which equipped its three 16-inch naval guns with fully automated loading systems and smart guided shells. |
➤| The modernized battleship also carries four MQ-8B Fire Scouts for the provision of long-range reconnaissance, situational awareness, aerial fire support, and precision targeting support for grown air and sea forces. |
➤| The main armament of the modernized battleship are its three 16-inch Mark 8 Naval Guns with complete auto loading capacity and Mk 41 Vertical-Launching System(VLS) between its middle section and stern. It also has a supporting complement of two RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile Launchers and four 20mm Phalanx CIWS |
➤| Its extra armaments also ranged from four RGM-84 Harpoon Launchers, eight BGM-109 Tomahawk Launchers, one 20mm Thales Seahawk Sigma, and eight Otobreda 127mm/54 Compact Naval Guns armed with long ranged guided Vulcano ammunition. |
➤| The Trinity of Solace is the prided ship of its navy. A symbol of power, wealth, and dominance over the seas. Let it be the starting point for climbing to the pinnacle. |
Reading through the long description of the Modernized Iowa-Class Battleship, or UNS Trinity of Solace, spanning across several digital windows, was a weird and exhilarating experience. It was as though your lottery win was described before your eyes.
Abraham sat in his luxurious chair in silence as he dazed into the supposed flag of the United Navy adorned on his office's wall. It was beautiful, to say the least.
The Flag of the United Navy was akin to the united nation's Flag of his former world.
The only difference was that it was navy blue in color instead of light and the global decor residing in the flag's center was replaced with an anchor signifying the United Navy.
Abraham never thought about the United Navy's flag since the creation of the naval organization. The reason was that it was hard to design an interesting flag with a meaning.
Luckily, he didn't have to waste his time thinking about what may look good as their flag. With the United Navy's flag before him, it painted a clearer picture of what they were as a naval force.
'Nonetheless, this massive warship is brimming with weaponry.' The UNS Trinity of Solace had several dozens of armaments scattered throughout its deck.
It was almost crowded with defensive arsenals, which could only be used as an offensive at the moment because the battleship had little to no modern forces to fight against.
'And a nuclear reactor at that? Although, only one unlike the aircraft carriers, it still is quite something to be equipped with a reactor.' Abraham thought while reading the nuclear reactor part of the description once again.
However, even though it was amazing in terms of weaponry, power, defense, endurance, and speed. He understood that it wasn't invincible and must not treat it as such.
"Nothing is invincible, every vessel that considered themselves as such always found themselves at the bottom of the seas," Abraham muttered under his breath.
He understood that he must keep his confidence at grasp so as to not escalate it into arrogance.
*Knock!* *Knock!* *Knock!* *Knock!*
Someone knocked on his door, turning Abraham's attention towards them. He raised an eyebrow before calmly uttering to the visitor.
"Come in." With his words, the door to his office opened. Beyond it was the white-haired lady, or the dragoness Laplace, the smug ally of the United Navy.
Her appearance was a bit better than before as she was wearing an officer uniform of the United Navy. Although Abraham didn't know if it was allowed or not, Captain Howard seemed to be open to the idea.
So, at the moment, Laplace wore a navy blue officer uniform of the United Navy. It seemed to be tightly wrapped around her body, enriching her already enticing figure.
But this officer wasn't easily worn as it needed to be modified to conform to her jet-black dragon tail. It took some time, but the same naval personnel that altered Laplace's first clothes easily modified the naval officer's uniform.
"You seem to be enjoying that uniform, Laplace," Abraham smirked at the dragoness, who was grinning at him. Laplace only winked at him and stepped closer to his desk.
"Your subordinates sure are skilled, Fleet Admiral," Laplace remarked while leaning over the middle-aged man's desk. Her black stockings laid bare for the eyes to see.
"That is natural, of course."
"Did you enjoy touring my ship?" Abraham glanced at her stocking-clad tights for a moment before looking away and changing the subject.
"Well, it was enjoyable to explore this massive metallic warship of yours. Your subordinates seemed fond of explaining how many weapons it has."
Laplace muttered while her golden irises stared directly at Abraham's face. This warship, or the UNS Trinity of Solace, it was called, was a monstrous behemoth.
Armored into damnation, crowded with dozens of weapons, and powered to the brim by the so-called reactor. With such a ship, it wouldn't take long before the United Navy dominated this region of the Ferus Sea.
"Consider them as excited," Abraham responded with a smile. He wasn't bothered by the excitement portrayed by his subordinates. It was completely understandable.
Even he himself was excited about the battleship, how couldn't they?
Laplace merely stared at Abraham and didn't continue the conversation they had. Her golden irises seemed to glow, but before they could fully gleam, someone knocked on the door.
The dragoness obviously felt interrupted, but she could only sigh and stand beside Abraham with a straightened back.
Even though she wasn't a subordinate of Abraham, most of his subordinates consider her as his personal trump card. It wasn't hard to realize why such a misunderstanding occurred.
She wasn't as dense as the middle-aged man in front of her. She would admit that they were too close, but she didn't consider it a problem.
However, as the United Navy and Abraham had treated her well since the beginning. She didn't find it problematic to be considered a trump card of the Fleet Admiral.
"Get in." Abraham was surprised at first by Laplace's action, but he quickly threw it out of his mind. After he uttered such words, the front door of his office opened once again.
Behind it was an important naval personnel under his ranks. It was his direct subordinate, practically only below him. And perhaps the highest ranking of his officers.
It was the Executive Officer of the UNS Trinity of Solace, Vice Admiral Charlotte.
Laplace squinted her eyes, critically observing the Executive Officer. And the latter did the same. Their gaze seemed to clash with one another.
