Chapter 5071 Encountering Old Friends

When Long Chen and Bai Yingxue walked out of the transportation formation, they saw a lot of people in front of them. This huge transportation formation was in the midst of an endless crowd of people.

“Move along, move along! Don’t just stand there gawking! Keep moving!” Shouts from the overseers echoed through the area. Many experts, awestruck by their surroundings, momentarily froze, causing a jam at the transportation formation.

Long Chen and Bai Yingxue navigated through the crowd, and eventually, the throng started to thin out. Fortunately, the dragon race’s experts held a high status in this place, so many people intentionally maintained a set distance to avoid offending Long Chen and Bai Yingxue.

While the white dragon race’s tempers were comparatively good, outsiders couldn’t tell which race Bai Yingxue was from. All they saw was that she was from the dragon race, so they maintained their distance.

Other races didn’t have this kind of privilege. Long Chen spotted a lewd individual stealthily groping a woman as he passed by. The woman, not one to let it slide, immediately slapped him across the face.

Surprisingly, that pervert seemed used to it and didn’t even make a sound. He continued onwards, but it wasn’t long before he screamed and was left with a bloody face. Long Chen almost laughed when he saw that.

“What happened?” asked Bai Yingxue. She looked at that fellow and then at Long Chen’s speechless appearance curiously.

“This fellow’s hands aren’t clean.”

“I know. I saw him do it too. But how did he end up like that?” asked Bai Yingxue.

“Because he’s blind, he touched a man by accident. And then…” Long Chen couldn’t continue and just shrugged.

Bai Yingxue laughed. That pervert was truly foolish.

As they strolled through the bustling city, Long Chen was amazed by the vibrant mix of races and lifeforms around him. Many were beings he had only read about in ancient texts, and some weren’t even mentioned there. Despite his extensive experience, he felt like a country bumpkin amidst such novelty.

“Oh?”

Suddenly, Long Chen’s heart raced as a group of cloaked figures passed by. One of them seemed oddly familiar, but before he could get a better look, they vanished into the crowd. His divine sense was restricted here, making it impossible to track them.

“What is it?” asked Bai Yingxue, noticing Long Chen’s sudden stillness.

“That person looked familiar,” said Long Chen.

Long Chen suddenly recalled a cloaked figure from his past—someone who had provided him with crucial information about the Lifehunter race, which he had used to destroy one of the Lifehunter race’s hives

“It was definitely him!” Long Chen wondered aloud, surprised to see this figure here. The figure’s robes were different this time, and he wore a mask beneath his hood.

Hold it! A mask? The Chess Sect? Long Chen realized, remembering a Chess Sect disciple he had killed. Their auras were strikingly similar. He recalled observing the Chess Sect elder alongside the Flame Divine Hall’s elder discussing something. It seemed that the Chess Sect had come here as well.

The Chess Sect’s disciples are skilled in arranging schemes. Back when they directed my attention toward the Lifehunter race, were they merely using me to eliminate them, or was there something else at play? thought Long Chen.

Last time in Devil Fall City, Long Chen and Mo Nian had fallen victim to a scheme orchestrated by a Chess Sect disciple, resulting in significant losses for them. Xing Wujiang’s death was partially due to this manipulative plot.

Chess Sect, is that so? Hmph, I’ll deal with you. A sinister smile appeared on Long Chen’s face.

Suddenly, his attention was drawn to another group—a swirl of nether qi surrounded them. They hailed from the Netherworld’s Nether race, and they were openly walking around here.

What shocked Long Chen the most was the presence of the Underworld race as well. These two factions were natural enemies, yet here they were, coexisting without confrontation, focused on their own affairs.

Long Chen’s heart shook. Lord Brahma’s hands indeed stretched beyond the heavens, and all the races of the ten thousand worlds were within his reach. What was his ultimate aim?

Since Lord Brahma had such a terrifying influence, why did he not lead his forces to attack the foreign devils and reclaim the wilderness? He could take back the Sovereign Emperor Heaven from enemy forces, and that would be more beneficial for the Brahma Pill Valley’s development. Then, the Brahma Pill Valley would be the master of the nine heavens.

Just what is the Brahma Pill Valley up to?

Long Chen’s heart sank. The more he pondered the situation, the more incomprehensible it became. It was clear that Lord Brahma’s real objectives were nothing short of terrifying.

Suddenly, a sharp slap echoed through the air, jolting Long Chen from his thoughts. Turning his gaze, he saw a figure that made him shudder—a woman, taller than most men, yet radiating grace. She wore a golden headband and had her golden hair tied back in a ponytail.

“You know her?” asked Bai Yingxue.

Long Chen nodded and then continued onward. He hadn’t expected to encounter Feng You of the mixed beast race here. Even more surprising was the fact that she had just been slapped.

Feng You’s expression was dark as she covered her face with one hand, her eyes blazing with suppressed fury. In front of her was a lithe woman with two cat ears. This woman was a Heavenly Chosen, and she coldly scolded, “How many times have I told you? In the mixed beast alliance, you aren’t qualified to contradict me. Whether I’m right or wrong, you must listen, understood?”

The cat-eared woman was exceedingly arrogant, looking down on Feng You despite her short stature. Surrounding her was a group of mixed beast race experts, all women. They laughed at Feng You's predicament, clearly relishing in her misfortune.

When Feng You was struck, countless people turned to look in her direction. However, seeing that they were from the mixed beast race, no one said anything. They viewed it as an internal affair of the mixed beast race.

A woman beside Feng You couldn’t stay silent and spoke up for her. “You’ve gone too far! You were the ones lacking ability and getting bullied by others, yet you’re taking it out on us…”

Long Chen recognized her—Hu Xiaoyu, of the Spirit Fox bloodline and Feng You’s close friend. Back then, she was the strongest woman in the mixed beast race aside from Feng You.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

“Who asked you to be mouthy?!” the cat-eared woman sneered, brandishing a whip and swinging it at Hu Xiaoyu’s face.

Though shocked and enraged, Hu Xiaoyu didn’t dodge. She allowed it to whip toward her, but a large figure blocked it for her.

The whip struck Feng You’s back instead, soaking her clothes in fresh blood. Witnessing this, Long Chen clenched his fists, fury bubbling within him.
