Perfect Villain Life: Universal Job Change

Chapter 62 - The Qin Family’s Foundation

Chapter 62: The Qin Family’s Foundation

Chu Junzhuo’s face revealed a look of astonishment as she couldn’t help but take a deep glance at Qin Xian.

As the eldest daughter of the Chu family, she naturally wouldn’t venture into Shattered Heaven alone. She also had a team of elite professionals under the Chu family’s banner.

However, those elite Chu family members were randomly selected professionals below level 40. While they were certainly strong, they were simply ordinary warriors who had grown through normal training.

Compared to the top-tier, specially trained level 39 professionals from the Qin family, her team couldn’t even come close.

In this dungeon, it was likely that one of Qin Xian’s elite level 39 professionals could rival most of the warriors under her command.

This… was the difference in foundation.

Chu Junzhuo’s eyes flickered with complex emotions. Although the Chu family was one of the top noble houses in the empire, their rise only began when Chu Sitian reached the legendary rank, a span of only 300 years.

In contrast, the Qin family had been one of the empire’s top noble houses since its founding, with a legacy spanning over a thousand years.

In terms of both foundation and strength, the Chu family was still a far cry from the Qin family. Not to mention, these twenty or so A- and S-ranked professionals from the Qin family, who had been destined to reach level 50, had now sacrificed their potential for Qin Xian to obtain the blessing of the ancient gods.

The Qin family had essentially exchanged more than twenty level 50 professionals for Qin Xian’s chance at divine favor.

Such decisiveness… the Chu family would never dare to make such a choice. She had heard her grandfather say that every emperor throughout history had been wary of the Qin family, yet none of them could afford to alienate them.

The empire couldn’t function without the support of the Qin family. For centuries, the position of Chancellor in the Cardinal Council had been monopolized by the Qin family. Every generation’s head of the Qin family was practically the empire’s second emperor.

“Qin Xian…” Chu Junzhuo softly murmured, her lips curving into a mysterious smile.

Among the crowd, Ye Xuan witnessed the scene, but unlike the others, he felt no awe or envy. His heart was filled only with hatred… and disdain.

While others marveled at the Qin family’s ability to produce over twenty top-tier level 39 professionals for Qin Xian, Ye Xuan found it pathetic.

He pitied those twenty elite professionals. They were A- and S-rank professionals, individuals who could have reached level 40 or even 50. But the Qin family, in their quest to cultivate Qin Xian, had destroyed their futures.

Whether they were willing or not, Ye Xuan saw it as a tragedy.

Clenching his fists, Ye Xuan’s resolve only grew stronger. Even though Qin Xian had a lavish team of experts, Ye Xuan was convinced that he was the true powerhouse. This Shattered Heaven dungeon would be his first step toward becoming a dragon!

Suddenly, the entire Hengjiang region began to tremble. From the enormous portal came a majestic ringing sound, like the mournful toll of the world’s end.

The countless runes etched onto the portal’s surface began to glow, casting a dreamlike light over the entire region.

Inside the swirling vortex of the portal, a glimpse of a shattered yet awe-inspiring world could be seen. Seeing this, the crowd’s spirits lifted.

Shattered Heaven had finally opened!

“Enter the dungeon!”

“Double-check the team panel! Make sure no one gets left behind. Once we enter the dungeon, teams will be teleported randomly!”

“Check your equipment and potions!”

Nearly a million professionals, organized into tens of thousands of teams, began stirring with excitement as they prepared to enter Shattered Heaven.

“Good luck, Young Master and Young Miss,” Qiu Bo said with a slight bow toward Qin Xian and Qin Li.

His level, 58, exceeded the dungeon’s entry requirement, so he would remain outside. However, he wasn’t worried about Qin Xian’s safety.

With such a formidable team, many of the dangers in the dungeon wouldn’t even require Qin Xian’s personal involvement—his subordinates would take care of it.

Qin Xian smiled faintly and nodded. Despite many believing him to be cold-hearted and ruthless in his pursuit of strength, he was actually quite considerate toward those close to him. He was not a cruel master, and he valued those who served him well.

“Let’s go,” Qin Xian said, glancing at his sister. Qin Li returned his gaze with a warm smile, and the two siblings, surrounded by their elite team, passed through the portal and entered the Shattered Heaven dungeon.

It felt as if they were passing through a long tunnel, countless fragments of time flashing before their eyes. In the next moment, they found themselves standing on a vast plain.

“So this is Shattered Heaven…” Qin Xian murmured, gazing around at the landscape.

This world was both magical and broken. The “plain” they were standing on was more like a massive floating island, and in the distance, other islands, cities, mountains, and even oceans floated in the sky.

This world had been torn apart by some unknown force, fragmented into countless regions.
