CHAPTER 378 - No Interest.
It has been a few days since Alex went out with Luna, marking these days as the first few days of their being together.
In these past few days, all Alex did was spend his time with Ann and Alice, making up for all the time he had missed out, and filling them up with a lot of 'love'.
Both of them had grown strong by a margin; Alex could see that, and it made him happy.
Ann didn't grow much statistically, only going up to Epic 2 from Epic 1, but her skills took a massive leap forward, making her way more proficient with those powers than she was before.
But Alice, oh, she grew a lot; she gained a new skill and had a change in her bloodline along with it—which, although didn't sit well with her personality, was better than what she had before.
Her affinity with fire, which was already a bit too high, had raised higher, and her fire, the innate skill she had awakened, had gotten power up as well—now able to heal wounds with it.
Her time inside the incubation chamber, which was the mass of energy—a place where she was being prepared to be a proper vassal for the Phoenix—was very profitable for her.
She was injected with a bloodline of the Phoenix, a royal-grade bloodline—not the one of the original Phoenix, but not too bad either—to make her body compatible with the Phoenix.
That bloodline was what made everything else possible; now Alice was a Phoenix.
But just yesterday, when he was walking toward the throne room for the daily meeting with the higher nobilities of the empire, something clicked within his mind.
'Ah...'
He used to sit with Luna on one lap and Noctura on the other, but did he have four laps?
No, he did not.
That meant that he had to do something to make it so that none of his women were to feel less valued.
But then another problem arose: How would three women get a spot beside him?
So, he thought of something new.
"The three of you will need to take turns sitting with me on the throne, as I only have room for one at a time."
This was his answer to the inquisitive gazes he left on himself when Luna, Alice, and Ann saw only two new thrones emerging beside Alex's.
There was a quick exchange of glances among the three of them, and in less than a second, both Ann and Luna moved toward the thrones, leaving Alice standing in front of Alex, her chest puffed with a sense of victory.
*Chuckle*
But Alex just chuckled at that.
Noctura, on the other hand, didn't even bat an eye at this exchange, as she knew that her position wasn't going to be given anywhere; her master wasn't going to leave her out of all this.
Right now, however, they were all staring at the Leontaroi, a demi-lion in common terms, who was standing in front of Alex in fully transformed demi-lion form.
He had transformed a while ago, and he couldn't get back to his human form now as his shirt was torn apart, leaving only his pants, which, like some angry green monster's pants, didn't get torn apart.
The man, Theron, was grinning right now as his gaze moved between Alex and his women.
"I must say, Demon Lord, you have a nice taste."
Tharon, with his hands in his pocket, was first to speak, and Alex, who could tell that the guy wasn't looking at his women with lust or desire, just smiled at his words.
"I am just a lucky man."
He chucked as his grip around Alice's waist tightened, pulling her closer, and unlike before, Alice didn't shy away and leaned on his chest.
There were not many people in the hall as it was an unusual time and the hearing had already been concluded in the afternoon.
There were only the demon generals, the demon ancestor Azaroth, Alex, Ann, Alice, Luna, Noctura, and... Selina.
Yes, Selina was here as well, standing at the corner of the room, undetected, but Alex and Azaroth knew of her presence.
Alex was the one who called for her after all.
It had been a few days, and he was finally free of everything he had, making it possible for him to learn more about space from Selina.
The protagonist's search was still going on, but it seemed like the world was trying its best to keep the last protagonist of the demon empire hidden, as if wanting to give whoever it was enough time to grow.
Alex, however, was not in a hurry now.
With his women at his side, safe, and within range, he didn't have to hurry.
Let the protagonists give their best shot; it would be more entertaining for him if they were strong enough to make him struggle a bit.
{They would never be able to make you struggle...}
Sophia, on the other hand, just sighed as she could clearly tell what Alex wanted from the protagonists.
"I appreciate your words, but it's best we discuss why you're here; after all, the demons don't have good relations with any empire in the world."
Alex, however, soon turned back toward Theron, his face turning serious as he asked for the reason an emperor of a neutral empire came all the way here to meet the demon lord, who is considered evil by the world.
"I would do what you want me to do, but are you going to keep me standing—"
Theron folded his arms in front of his chest, raising a brow as he questioned out loud.
His words, however, caused the demon generals to frown, but before anyone could say or do something...
*Rumble*
The throne room shook, and the next second, Theron found himself getting lifted up by a stone pillar before that pillar turned into a throne situated on a pedestal that was just a level below Alex in height.
"Oh?"
Theron could have moved away or smashed the throne into pieces, the moment it emerged out of the ground, but he didn't sense any danger from it, so he let it be, only to let out a surprised voice before he laughed out loud.
"Hahahahaha. I knew my instincts weren't wrong about you; you are just the type of guy I like—"
He slapped the throne as he laughed, but the next second...
*Woosh*
*Thud*
"—what the hell?"
The throne under him vanished, leaving him sprawled on the ground, causing him to frown in confusion.
"Why did you—"

He turned to look at Alex, wanting to know why he was treated in such a way, but he paused as he saw the expression Alex had on his face.
"W-What?"
The sheer disgust he saw in Alex's eyes gave him a huge shock as to how one could change their expression so quickly, but it was not just him who had that expression; everyone in the room was looking at him just like that.
"I have no desire to involve myself with men romantically."
Alex scrawled as he could feel literal goosebumps rising over his skin.
"Wha......"
Theron, however, staggered, almost falling to the ground as he heard Alex's words.
"What the hell made you conclude that I have such interests?!"n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
He roared in disbelief, but Alex's reply came without a second's delay.
"The words you spoke."
He gazed at Theron with a dead look in his eyes, causing the guy to open his mouth, wanting to say something, only to close it again as he saw the looks of the demon generals and the demon ancestor, clearly showing their agreement to Alex's words.
"Sigh..."
His shoulder slumped as he sighed.
"I didn't mean anything like what you're thinking, and I'm not interested in getting romantically involved with men either—besides, I have my own harem!"
The large guy cast his eyes on Valerius, looking for help.
"Don't you know that too?!"
His voice raised a bit as he just realized that Valerius wasn't oblivious to his taste, yet he was playing along with the group.
"People change, Theron, and so do their tastes. I simply thought yours had changed too."
Valerious, however, just shrugged, playing safe, causing Theron to grit his teeth.
"I did not change! I am straight!"
He roared, his words directed at everyone in the room, his gaze turning fiery as he was really getting annoyed by this defamation.
But the next second...
*Rumble*
*Woosh*
The same thing repeated, and he got seated on another throne that looked the same as the ones before, and his eyes finally relaxed.
"Please state your business for coming all the way to the demon empire."
Alex spoke, his face turning neutral as if nothing of what had happened earlier even took place, causing the Lion King to doubt for a second that it even happened, but soon, the guy shook his head and smiled again, speaking about the real reason as to why he came here.
What do you think?
