Chapter 235: Unboxing Rewards
After everyone rolled the dice, the one who won was unexpectedly Roken.
"Damn, I’m really opening this?" Roken scratched the back of his head while grinning.
"Come on, old man. Hurry up," Natalia snorted.
"Whaa…I am just four years older…"
"Kk, just hurry up now."
Others couldn’t help but chuckle since Natalia lost by one point only. Roken rolled 49, and she rolled 48.
"Open it," Almond nodded at Roken.
"As you wish, young master Almond," Roken laughed.
The patterns on the chest glowed as Roken opened it. It opened and burst out with a bunch of colorful orbs and a hologram panel showing everyone the list of rewards.
[Heroic Challenge New Milestone Reward Chest]
— 5 Billon gold coins.
— 1 x Legendary rank Gear Set (High tier)
— 1 x Random Artifact Box (Tier-4)
— 2 x Mystery Box (SSS)
— 10 x Adventurer’s Lucky Debute Boxes.
— 15 x Resource Boxes (Ingredient-type)
— 20 x Time-Chamber Capsules (Tier-1)
"Yeah, alright, looks like we got new shit from this box, too." Marcus nodded, his eyes reflecting the excitement he felt.
"So many boxes to open. Let’s open the random boxes right now," Natalia grinned.
"Except for this one," Almond grabbed the orb containing the Tier-4 Artifact Box and put it inside his storage ring.
"As for the Legendary gear set, I’ll sell it."
"Will you distribute the gold coins you get from it?" Jemma asked as she side-eyed him.
"Nope."
"Got it," Jemma nodded with a wry smile. "The rule was indeed such that anything we get aside from contribution rewards is yours to handle and distribute."
"Yep," Almond smiled. "However, I will distribute the 5 billion gold coins among us. Let me do that right now."
"We are 22 people total, so 227 million gold coins to each of us."
"Holy crap!" Roken shouted with glowing eyes. "So much."
"Old man, you’ll blast your pants if you hear the number of gold coins Almond has in his other storage ring," Natalia sneered.
"I know, I know…I don’t even want to know how much he got from the auction," Roken said with a derpy face. "Yeah, never mind."
Almond finished distributing the gold coins, giving 227 million gold coins to each of them as they stored them inside their new storage rings.
"Alright, let’s open the Mystery Box now," Lily said as she rolled the dice first. "I’m not getting anything anyway, so I’ll start."
She rolled the dice as it traveled for a few meters before stopping.
Everyone looked at the number above and was dumbfounded.
50.
The highest number on the dice.
"Sheesh, you’re such a hypocrite," Natalia clicked her tongue before waving her hand as she whipped out a sound wave from its other side, pushing the big dice towards her and grabbing it before saying, "I am also rolling 50, so we can each open a Mystery box."
Dice rolled.
49.
"Hahaha, I don’t know what to say, Nat. Are you lucky or unlucky?" Kira said with a laugh.
"Damn it!"
"Alright, my turn," Emma nearby said as she grabbed the Dice.
Soon, everyone rolled the dice, but aside from Lily, Roken also rolled 50.
"Old man is on a roll," Finn chuckled.
"Damn, juniors have no respect these days," Roken grumbled as he grabbed a Mystery box as well.
Lily opened the box first and got an Insight Scroll x 1 (24h).
Meanwhile, Roken popped out an energy drink can. Everyone curiously inspected it.
[Hyper Activity Energy Drink]
-Rank: SSS
-Duration: 1 hour.
-Effect(s):
—> Your brain processes at 50% higher proficiency, enhancing a certain part of it to achieve swift reaction and decision-making for the optimal result you envision.
—> Exhaustion of Stamina is reduced by 50%.
"Not bad, I’ll take it," Almond said as he grabbed the energy drink. "Something like this can be a trump card because a 50% boost in the brain process would make me very strong."
"Or might explode your already hyper-driving brain too," Natalia rolled her eyes.
Lily chuckled, "That’s true, darling. Better hold your horses after drinking it."
’Or you can spend that energy doing some other activity with me,’ Lily winked as she Magic Whispered.
’That’s a very good idea, Madam Lily~’
"And keep the scroll, Lily. You can use it later," Almond said before he looked at the 10 x Adventurer’s Lucky Debute Boxes in the orb.
"These are new boxes. The ten people with the highest numbers will open them. Let’s roll," Natalia said with a grin.
"Yeah, that works," Almond nodded.
Everyone rolled and the ten winners opened the boxes one by one.
The first box opened by Xavier actually gave a skill-upgrade card (SSS), allowing one to upgrade a non-class skill to SSS from SS.
This got everyone’s hopes high before the second one that Ron opened—and it turned out empty.
The third box popped out a potion vial with magical black spiraling liquid.
Upon inspection, everyone learned that the potion was a throwable one that could create a 20-meter radius area of a dreadful black spiral to trap the enemies and confuse their senses and perception with gravity pull at the center.
The fourth box turned out empty, but the fifth box brought an item worth the "lucky" word of the box.
It was a freaking Advance scroll.
"I’ll distribute this according to the new distribution system," Almond said with a smile.
"Wait, what’s that new system?" Natalia asked in surprise.
"I’ll make one later, haha."
"Tsk."
"Anyway, it’s my turn, so I’ll open it," Almond said as he opened the sixth box.
A burst of magical confetti shot out of the box before an item flew out while glowing.
An orb with a black and white fish swimming inside, its eyes glowing golden.
[Fortunate-Misfortune Fish]
-Rank: Special
-Requirement: Bound to an individual by dropping a drop of blood inside the bowl.
-Effect:
—> Stores fortune and misfortune for a month.
—> Afterward, you can feed the fish some Mana and have it transform.
—> If it transforms into a white fish, you’ll have +10 Lucky for 1 month. If it turns black, you’ll have -10 Lucky for 1 month.
"Well…I guess it’s worth using it," Almond shrugged. "If I get bad luck, I can use Nat as a shield to ward it off."
"Good idea," Lily chuckled.
"Tsk, as if you are not using my luck already."
"Yeah, yeah, we get it," Marcus rolled his eyes. "Let’s open the next one now. Noah, go on."
Noah nodded as he grabbed the box and opened it.
However, it turned out to be empty.
Anya opened the eighth box, and it also freaking turned out to be empty, making everyone roll their eyes.
The ninth box was opened by Jian and popped a Legendary-rank Consumable item, which Almond took as it could be a trump card. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Almond didn’t want to use some resources like that in Heroic Challenge anymore because the Battlefield was opening soon, and it was going to be way more unpredictable in an obvious way considering it was going to be a big and long event, so he wanted to keep some items that could change situations.
Next, Maya opened the last tenth box, which was fortunately not empty.
Your journey continues on empire
[Runic Armstrong Wrist Brace]
-Rank: Special
-Condition: These braces only work when the user is not in combat.
-Effect:
—> Increase the strength of arms by half of the weight held in the hands. The increase is kilogram-based, not stat-based.
"Roken, you can keep these braces," Almond gave the pair of Wrist Braces to Roken since this seemed to be made for those who work in heavy workshops, like Blacksmiths.
"Wow, they are perfect. Now I can increase the weight of my Runic Hammer," Roken’s eyes shone. "With this, I’ll actually be able to pound Epic-rank materials, and that with less effort."
"Yeah, you have to practice a lot. Once I finish crafting my gear sets at the end of the month, you have to enchant them all."
"Yes, boss!"
The resource boxes were different this time. The ones they got from the 5th Floor’s rewards gave them stat-increasing resources, but the ones in these boxes were more like ore materials, herbs, flowers, crystals, and so on.
They had different uses, so Almond kept all those in his storage ring to use them later, especially Herbs and other flora-type items that Sylvia could use to enrich her arsenal of nature.
And finally, Almond took the orb containing the new items—Time-Chamber Capsules.
"Well…now these are very, very tempting, and two people will not get it," Almond said as he read the details before also allowing others to see it. "Check it out."
