The news reported that the Huaxia military would implement various emergency measures, exterminate zombies, and would collaborate with countries worldwide to rapidly research inhibitors for the zombie virus, ensuring citizens could stay safe at home. It also advised that if anyone had a feverish family member or friend, they should be isolated immediately.

Drones also captured footage of fully armed military forces appearing on the streets, firing live ammunition to kill the roaming zombies, the scenes were incredibly striking.

It seemed that in the early stages of the Apocalypse, the situation was still within the local government’s control.

Su Jin shook her head and told everyone that this was just to pacify the public, the real situation was far more severe than reported on the television. Advising everyone to stay at home now would mean that after some time, those who never ventured out would be completely unable to face any zombie, just one child zombie could bite and infect all the residents of an entire floor, then assimilate them. At this moment, apart from Lu Hao, the family swallowed their saliva, looking at her in awe; she was too formidable!

“Sister Xiao Jin, you’re so cool and amazing,” Mao Qiqi had been scared till her eyes were red, but that didn’t stop her from admiring Su Jin. She thought her Sister Xiao Jin was much more beautiful than any female star on television.

Lu Hao looked at Su Jin before him, seeing this side of her for the first time—her deadly decisiveness combined with gentle beauty struck his heart deeply. He could even hear his heart beating faster in his chest. He thought, probably only his Xiao Jin could have such a temperament in this world.

Ignoring the eager eyes of others, Su Jin walked over to the fallen head, searched inside the zombie’s head with her knife, and unfortunately found no Crystal Core. Such a pity.

Given the stench still emanating from the corpses in the yard, Lu Hao set another fire, turning two zombie bodies to ash.

Not wanting to be outdone, Su Xiangzhe was the first to stand up. Seeing his daughter and son-in-law perform so excellently, how could he, an elder, cower in fear?

Without asking Lu Hao for further help to lure zombies, Su Xiangzhe planned to go out himself, while Su Jin and Lu Hao stood on the second floor, ready to use their Special Abilities to help if Su Xiangzhe encountered danger.

There were about five or six zombies in the alley, which smelled Su Xiangzhe’s living scent and ran toward him.

“Dad! Run!” Su Jin shouted from the second floor.

Unexpectedly, these zombies, seemingly dull-witted, moved so fast. Su Xiangzhe didn’t dare to slack off and sprinted toward the home, alert.

“Old Lu, close the door!” Su Xiangzhe ran in, with three zombies close behind. When the first female zombie ran in, Lu Guanhai slammed the large iron door shut with a bang.

The female zombie that had run in sensed Lu Guanhai—the closest person by the door—and suddenly changed direction, reaching out to grab him.

“Be careful!” Lu Hao shouted from upstairs, breaking out in a cold sweat.

Though taken by surprise, Lu Guanhai, having been a soldier and taken the Marrow Cleansing Pill, reflexively rolled on the ground and narrowly avoided the incoming female zombie’s claw.

“Dad, attacking other parts is ineffective; you can only aim for the head,” Su Jin and Lu Hao, who had already come downstairs, coordinated from the side.

Su Xiangzhe noticed too that no matter where he injured the female zombie, it had no effect and only seemed to excite her further. “I’ll go.”

Lu Hao held back Su Jin. Having already killed two zombies, including one power-type evolved zombie, and seeing his father-in-law in danger, he couldn’t help but want to step forward.

With Su Jin’s nod, Lu Hao grabbed a knife and struck at the female zombie. The speed-type Special Ability was indeed very fast. Lu Hao’s surprise attack was swift, but she was even faster. Just as Lu Hao was about to hit her shoulder, she jumped away?!

The female zombie roared at Lu Hao, her previous jump landing her directly on a step in the yard.

“Dad, I’ll draw her attention,” Lu Hao said to Su Xiangzhe, who nodded and kept his eyes tightly on the female zombie, searching for her weak spot. Lu Hao cut toward the left side of the female zombie’s waist, and just as she was about to dodge, she was tripped by Lu Hao’s leg sticking out to her right!

Su Xiangzhe finally spotted an opening and, using all his strength, chopped at the female zombie’s head!
