Chapter 914
Chapter 914: Rain And Kana
"There, complete…." Rain said as she opened the lid to her cauldron and took out a white pill. Her first attempt, after a bit of guidance from her master, went off without a hitch.
"Not bad at all. The purity is around sixty percent. For a first attempt, this is really amazing. I knew I was right about you! My dear disciple, come with me. We shall formally announce you as my personal disciple in the next day or so." Rain's master looked at her with a warm smile on her wrinkled old face.
Seeing such a look, Rain couldn't help but sigh. She did not plan to spend much time here, but she could see that the old lady really wanted to teach her everything she knew. "I guess I can spend some time here for the time being…."
"My dear disciple, did you say something?" Rain's master asked.
Rain shook her head. "Nope, I was just surprised that pill refinement is actually quite relaxing."
"That it is. It allows one to forget about their worries and allows them to steady their hearts. It is a strange dao, but it is not only beneficial to those who practice it but to those who buy the pills from those who refine pills." Rain's master replied. "Maybe one day you will also understand this logic."
"Mmm… Maybe…." Rain smiled as she followed after her master. Many people looked at her with curious eyes as she passed through the paths throughout the sect. Rain ignored them as she casually chatted with her new master.
Rain's master felt that Rain was someone wise for her age. She seemed to have a deep insight into life and even said things that made her think deeply about things. Such a disciple was much more than she could ever hope for in her old age.
Rain was shown to an immortal cave next to her new master's and was told that the following day would be the disciple master ceremony. Rain sat on her stone bed with her legs crossed underneath her looking up at the ceiling, wondering how she even got into this mess.
"Rain, you do not look happy." Kana suddenly appeared behind Rain and sat behind her with her legs stretched out on either side of her daughter's body.
"It's not that I am not happy. It is just confusing how I even ended up here." Rain replied as she leaned back into her Mama's embrace. "Mama, I feel like I am deceiving this new master of mine. I know I will not be here long on this plane of existence. But at the same time, I can not bring myself to tell her that I can not stay long. Immortals live forever. As long as they do not get sick or die, they will never die. I can not be here forever…."
"MMm… I do not think it is so much the time you will be here for. Just learn everything you can. And when the time for us to leave comes, we will leave. The immortal realm is different from the other mortal realms, and they take longer and much more resources to cultivate. And even more so with how many kinds of power we are cultivating.
"I will work hard to find more sources of each kind of power in order to allow us to break through. So take your time, learn what you can, and do what you feel is right. Mama will always be there to assist when you need it." Kana hugged Rain from behind and placed her chin on top of her head. "You and your sisters should experience the world we are in for now and learn as much as you can. Time will come when you will need to leave, but at least until then, do not shut out what is around you."
Rain wiped her tears as she hugged the arms that were hugging her. "Mama, thank you. To be honest, I like this old lady. She reminds me somewhat of you in the aura she gives off. A kind, natural feeling that warms the heart. She even was willing to take the time and teach me everything step by step. I think she is a wonderful person and do not wish to disappoint her."
"Then stay here and learn from her. I will bring you what you need for cultivation. This bedroom will now be your new cultivation spot." Kana waved her hand and created a barrier around the room. No one would be able to see in this room, nor could they enter it. Only she and her family would be able to. She then opened a hole to the spirit realm and flooded the room with chaos. After that, she took out what little she had left for resources and placed them all in the room. "It's not much, but it should last you a few years' time until I can find more."
"Mama… these are yours. I can not…." Rain knew that this was all her Mama had left for resources. But she was still giving them up to her. But before she could protest, her Mama pushed her fingers on her lips.
"Rain. You are my daughter, and you have found a place to settle down for the time being as you gain experience. So giving you these items is fine. I will find more, and I can't even break through with these at this time anyway." Kana tried to make Rain feel better about taking the last of her items, but Rain still couldn't help but feel bad. She turned and hugged her Mama tightly. "Thank you, Mama…."
"You are still my baby no matter how big you get," Kana said as she gently rubbed Rain's back. She then looked through the open door to the room to see Rain's new master standing there with tears in her eyes. Kana knew she was there the entire time. It seemed she had come to tell Rain something but did not dare enter with her there. Kana smiled and transmitted her voice to the old woman. "I leave my daughter in your care. Let her experience as much as possible."
Rain's master turned and looked at Kana and nodded before turning and walking away. She knew her new disciple was special, but now she knew that her disciple was even more powerful than her. "I need to prepare things for her so she can learn as much as possible while she is still here!"
