Chapter 633 Badrinath Mohan

30th September 1659

Akhand Bharatiya Empire, Imperial Capital, Bengaluru

"Thank you, sir!" A postman smiled kindly and put his hand on his heart as a way of showing his gratitude.

The security guard, who surprisingly looked to be wearing the military gear, like the hat and boots of the Bharatiya Empire, nodded in acknowledgment and smiled back.

The postman, finally entering the most protected community of the capital, looked around at all the luxurious houses with amazement. If the villas were a little smaller, maybe he would feel envious, but once the view is too far away, feeling envious becomes idiotic.

He quickly went through the letters he had to deliver and hurriedly walked forward.

The Mohan family lived in the most exclusive community in the empire due to being a family that produced a cabinet minister for the government. The living conditions were naturally excellent. Not only did the government allocate a villa in the most exclusive community in the empire, but it also arranged top-class security by stationing actual retired army veterans.

In fact, Jagannath Mohan, if he wanted, didn't have to live in the community since, according to the Constitution of Bharat, he gets a certain percentage of the profits generated by his department, which made him as rich as some of the wealthy entrepreneurs in the empire. But still, Jagannath Mohan valued the social connections that were present in the community, and most importantly, it was close to his work.

"Amma, post!"

Jagannath Mohan was doing pooja in the temple of the house. Suddenly his eyebrows raised when he heard the postman calling, but still, he did not stop chanting his mantras and continued to ring the ghanta with his left hand.

An old woman, who was the mother of Jagannath Mohan, slowly opened the door.

The postman smiled brightly. "Ajji, post!"

The old woman smiled kindly and took the letter.

"Ajji, is there someone who can sign?" the postman asked hesitantly.

The old woman did not call her sons; instead, she just showed her left thumb. The postman was surprised as he could see traces of ink left on the thumb, so he quickly understood what the old woman meant.

He quickly took out the ink tray that had yet to be opened, dipped the old woman's left thumb in it, and pressed it firmly onto the customer acknowledgment ledger.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"That's all, Ajji. Thank you, I will be going now."

The old woman took out a banana and handed it over to the postman. "Alright, son, have a safe journey."

By the time the old woman got inside, her son Jagannath had already finished his puja and was sitting on the sofa drinking some tea.

"Eldest, take a look at this letter," she handed it over to Jagannath.

Jagannath cautiously put down his teacup and checked who the letter was for, and surprisingly, it was actually for his little brother.

"Amma, go call the youngest," he said as he put aside the letter and continued to sip his tea.

A few minutes later, a middle-aged man, barely 35 years old, poked his head out of the veranda of the first floor. "What happened, bro? I'm kind of busy," he asked, looking a little impatient. He had been working overnight creating policies for the new branch of the Raya Royal Bank he would be heading. The Raya Royal Bank has rigid and strict requirements for its branches when it comes to major aspects, but for minor aspects, it is left to the bank managers to fit them to local conditions. Badrinath Mohan, who had been given a chance to head his own branch of a bank, took the matter very seriously.

"You have a letter, and it seems to be from General Manager Bhaskara Charya." Jagannath didn't even raise his head when he talked, but the tone of authority in his voice was absolute. "Come down and take a look quickly. It might be something important."

Badrinath, as soon as he heard that it was a letter from the general manager, quickly came down the stairs. Even if he did not have to listen to his brother, who had been getting more and more domineering as his position in the government became more important, he definitely had to respect the general manager of the Raya family assets, who was the boss of his boss.

*Tear!*

His eyes quickly glanced over the contents of the letter.

'Gasp!' He took in a breath of air. Reading the letter, Badrinath was astonished, his mouth wide open, his eyes erratic and in disbelief.

Jagannath Mohan instantly noticed the unusual behavior of his little brother, so he took over the letter and read it for himself.

The contents of the letter were simple: it was an order to resign from his current post as a regional manager of a branch office of the Royal Bank and take over the position as the director of the newly established Raya Insurance firm.

Jagannath suddenly felt a wave of enlightenment. Yesterday, when he attended the summons from His Majesty, he came across General Manager Bhaskara Charya. Sadly, since he did not have much time to talk, he only nodded in greeting, but to his surprise and confusion, Mr. Bhaskara Charya actually said, "You're lucky and fortunate to have such a capable brother." At first, he thought that the general manager was impressed by his brother's skills and praised him since he did remember his brother telling him that he would be getting a promotion. But throughout the day, he had a lingering doubt in his mind: 'There has to be something else to it.' He kept thinking, but eventually, he put that thought aside as he had to work on the new bill proposed by His Majesty. But now, reading the letter, everything suddenly made sense. 'No wonder the general manager congratulated me,' he chuckled.

He patted the back of his stunned younger brother. "Do your best. This company has very high potential and large prospects."

Badrinath was woken up by the pat. However, when he heard the encouragement from his brother, instead of feeling happy, he felt a little worried. "Hey, eldest, you didn't have anything to do with this, did you?" He began to panic. "I'm saying this now—only if you really did have something to do with this, I'll go right away and reject the offer from the general manager!"

He was worried that his brother would do something he should not have.

Looking at his younger brother's face, Jagannath Mohan laughed out loud. "Hey, idiot, what are you thinking? My every move is highlighted a thousand times to the intelligence departments. How can I do such a stupid thing as recommend you to something? Unless His Majesty directly asks for my opinion, I wouldn't dare open my mouth."

He suddenly felt like teasing his younger brother. "Maybe even if His Majesty asks me for a suggestion, I would recommend someone else in order to show my impartiality."

Hearing this, the touch of worry he had felt for his brother suddenly disappeared. "**** **** ****" Enjoy new adventures from empire

"Hahaha!"

Jagannath Mohan laughed heartily.

Looking at him like this, Badrinath broke out into laughter as well.

"Hahaha!"

Hearing the laughter coming from the hall, the old woman, who had gone to peel some fruits, suddenly felt a joy emanating from her heart.

Parliament Building

A small crowd had gathered within the conference room of the Parliament Building.

The crowd was filled with high-end businessmen of the empire. No matter the cause for their presence, they took the opportunity to socialize and expand their social connections.

"Hey Joshi, you're here too, what a surprise," Akash, the owner of Aakash Carriage and Co., smiled heartily and hugged Raghav Joshi, the silk king from Mandya.

Raghav Joshi had a smile on his face. "What do you think is the occasion? These four construction giants are also here," he pointed his head towards the group of Vignyan Borphukan, Ravi Shetty, Pawan Kalyan, and Rana Pratap, the owners or managers of the four largest construction firms in the Bharatiya Empire.

Akash shrugged. "Beats me, but it has to be something very important for the prime minister to call all of us here." Looking around the room, he said, "All of us put together make up a few hundred million Varaha in assets, so my best guess is it has to do something with the financial industry."

Raghav thought for a while. "Is it about the stock market?" he wondered.

"Maybe," Akash nodded and became silent. It could be seen that even he wasn't fully sure about his guess.

Soon, Vinod came into the conference hall along with his secretaries.

"Welcome, everyone, and thank you for attending the meeting despite your busy schedules."

Vinod sat down and gestured for his secretaries to pass on the documents.

Everyone curiously took the documents and read through them. The reactions varied, as they had not expected such a novel company to be invented by His Majesty, but in the end, they all kept silent as they still did not know what the motive of the government was.

As for Raghav Joshi and Akash, after reading the document, their previous speculation was immediately thrown out of the window. They realized that the meeting was obviously due to the new insurance company established by His Majesty.
