Chapter 92
92 Aurora’s Request
“Whew...”
Raphael exclaimed as he wiped the sweats off his forehead. He then stared at the gadget that was on the construction table, and a smile instantly appeared on his face.
“What do you think?” Raphael muttered.
There was a growl and then a hoot from Gus after Raphael spoke. Raphael seemed to understand Gus said, as the smile on his face widened.
“It’s just pitiful that I’m unable to increase the usage.” Raphael said, “If I’m unable to get him in two strikes, the tables will turn, and we will have no choice but to use that.”
A change occurred in Raphael and Gus, and after a brief moment, Raphael took a deep breath. He gently extended his hand towards the gadget on the table, and that smile once again emerged on him.
The appearance of the gadget in Raphael’s hand was that of a glowing orb, but Raphael wouldn’t term it as that. Instead, he referred to the gadget as a high-density muon orb.
Raphael took the glove which was beside him, “Here we go.” As Raphael spoke, he placed the muon orb at the center of the glove, and just as both tools came in contact with one another, they merged.
After the integration between the glove and the orb, the orb glowed vigorously as if it were being powered by the glove.
.....
Raphael stared at the gloves for a few seconds before wearing them, and then stretched his hand out gently. “It really looks amazing.”
The orb was created by taking excess electrons and turning them into muons with its particle beam, capable of incredible concussive power.
“Even though I know about its ability, I can help but want to test its destructive properties.”
Gus shook its head several times when it heard Raphael. Gus completely disagreed with Raphael’s idea of wanting to test the destructive properties of the glove because it was more than certain that it was going to destroy the dormitory, and perhaps everyone in it.
“I’m just joking.” While Raphael said he was simply joking, the expression on his face said otherwise.
Raphael very much had a sadistic smile on his face that seemed to be like he wanted to put the words he spoke earlier into action.
After a few seconds of appreciating the glamour of the glove, Raphael removed the glove from his hand. “Let’s create the second part, that way I would be able to get four strikes,” Raphael said.
With a nod from Gus, it pulled over the tools that were on the edge of the table and placed them in the center. Gus then began to arrange them based on how each tool was going to be used.
The most suitable way to create the muon orb was with vibranium. Vibranium is a metallic ore with energy-manipulating properties, and it was so rare that it was simply impossible to find.
So, to create the muon orb, Raphael had to develop a template similar to Vibranium. That way he would be able to create the orb, but unlike the vibranium which would stabilize the energy flow at the quantum level, the template he created wasn’t able to entirely stabilize the energy flow.
It was why there was a shortcoming in the muon orb. Raphael was aware of the deficiency, and he had no problem with it, as he could still work with it.
“Bring the engine.” A few seconds after, Raphael spoke, and Gus passed over the miniature engine to him.
Whenever Raphael created a gadget, the first attempt was usually a bit of troublesome for him because of the way he experimented with it. But once the gadget was created, he wouldn’t even experience the slightest bit of difficulty with the second or any other attempt.
It was like taking candy from a baby. And within a few minutes, Raphael had created the template that was going to be used.
Once the template was developed, and the orb prepared, the next phase was to replicate tesseract energy. The vibranium template that was created was able to absorb vibratory and kinetic energy in the vicinity and when focused on a molecular level it could sap the energy that binds particles together, causing matter to disintegrate.
It was during this process that high energy collision occurs and electrons are created.
Raphael’s hands trembled as he held the template. “This is the last step,” Raphael mumbled.
With the miniature engine, the reactor cube, and the chunk from the template, Raphael was able to create a replicate of tesseract energy.
The last step was to insert the final product of the replicated tesseract energy into the orb. This phase was, in fact, the most important and difficult, as any mishaps that occurred were going to ruin the whole gadget.
Raphael was as careful as he could possibly be. He moved the tools gently and was about to merge them with the orb when the door was slammed open.
The loud slam caught Raphael surprised, but he still managed to keep his balance and place his focus entirely on the tools in his hand. Raphael didn’t stare at the person who had just walked in, his eyes were fixed on the tools.
He continued to move them gently, completely disregarding the person walking toward him.
The person who walked into the room was Aurora, and as she laid eyes on what Raphael was working on, her mouth opened slightly.
“Wow!”
Aurora glanced at the items in Raphael’s hand and then stared at Raphael himself. “High impact collision and shockwave that can be converted to thermal energy,” Aurora mumbled.
“Why am I getting Electromagnetic radiation from this also,” Aurora blurted. “What exactly are you up to, Raphael?”
Aurora had just spoken when she received a grim look from Raphael. She wanted to speak further, but when she saw that look that Raphael had on his face, she immediately kept quiet.
“I’m just curious, that’s all.” After Raphael shifted his gaze back to his work, Aurora sneered.
She moved away from the table and began to walk around the room. And while Raphael paid no attention whatsoever to her, Gus had its eyes fixed on her.
It took Raphael a few minutes, and once he had merged the orb with the template and the others, he heaved a deep breath. Raphael then tapped the orb gently, and it began to glow a second after.
He placed both orbs close to one another, and a smile instantly appeared on his face.
“Now you look so creepy,” Aurora’s voice rang out.
Raphael shook his head when he heard Aurora’s voice. Because of his whole focus had been on assembling the final piece, he had actually forgotten that Aurora was in the room.
He removed the apron which was wrapped around his body and turned toward her.
“What do you want?” Raphael asked.
Aurora raised an eyebrow when she heard the tone that Raphael used. “You can’t have forgotten that you owe me something, right?” Aurora said in a displeased tone.
“I know, that’s why I asked what do you want,” Raphael responded.
“I’m trying to create an incendiary device,” Aurora said. “But instead of using uranium and plutonium, I want to use uranium and palladium. 70.5 percent enriched uranium-234, 21 percent palladium-249, and small quantities of other isotopes.”
Aurora paused for a few seconds after she spoke, before then saying, “The problem I’m encountering is high density in metal. I need it to be made out of low-density metal to be able to succeed.” Aurora said.
“Trust me, if I had a choice, I wouldn’t have come to you. And besides, you owe me a favor, so this is how you pay me back.”
As Aurora saw the expression on Raphael’s face, she bit her lips hard. She hoped Raphael wasn’t going to refuse to help her with the gadget, as it was of extreme importance to her.
The people she had turned to for help had all assumed that she was crazy for wanting to create something like that. They had refused to help her because it was an insane thing to do, so Aurora had no choice but to turn to Raphael for help.
She had seen those crazy eyes that he had when he stared at gadgets and if there was someone crazy enough to help her then there was no doubt that he was going to be the one.
Raphael placed his hand on his chin, “Hmm” He mumbled.
“Are you going to help me or not?” Aurora blurted with a tinge of anger on her face.
“My word is my bond, so of course, I’m going to help with it,” Raphael said. “But, I’m curious, who or what are you planning to blow up.”
A light smile appeared on Aurora’s face, and in response to Raphael, she shrugged her shoulder.
“No one.” She replied.
Raphael sneered, “I’m still going to help you if you tell me who it is. Like I said, my word is my bond.” Raphael said.
“A material like uranium, plutonium at large, and enriched percent can only mean one thing.” Raphael said, “You intend to create a nuclear bomb but with a palladium now added to the mix, this will be a grade higher than a nuclear bomb.”
