Chapter 253 The Gadget Room
The event that occurred became known very quickly to both the humans and the beasts in the city. The beasts and the humans in the area quietened. Neither one of them wanted to displease Raphael in any way.
"Are you sure this is the place?"
"Yes, it is."
Two figures stood precisely on the ground the beast perished. Their gaze wandered around the area and one of the spoke. "Do you think he has attained that rank, Unas?"
"No." He replied. "But I don't think he's far from it. The directors of the academy won't have sent him to this place if he had attained that rank." Unas added with a straight face.
The tall ostrich beside Unas frowned, "We need to be careful if we are going to keep an eye on him. If Raphael is that strong, then we need to readdress the situation with the others."
A nod came from Unas after the ostrich spoke. The both of them stared at the ground, the half-wolf-half human had said to have vanished and shook its head.
He then moved his gaze to the building in front, "Do you have any idea what he intends to do with this building?" Unas asked with a curious look on his face.
"I heard he wants to open a shop here." The ostrich answered.
Supposedly, if Raphael was here, he would have recognized the two beasts as one of the representatives of the big three in the city. The abnormally tall ostrich and Unas was the four-armed ape with a very muscular frame.
….
"You need to work seriously on your cooking, Raphael. You can have all the power in the world, but if your cooking is awful, you have failed as an individual." Said Gus.
Even though Gus complained about the meal on the table, it still continues to feast on the wings. However, as it ate the buffalo wings, it shook its head repeatedly and the complaint continued.
"Seriously, if I have to eat this with you while we are here, I might as well kill myself. So, before that happens, I expect you to watch some Me tube and learn how this is done properly."
Raphael raised an eyebrow as he stared at the owl in front of him. If eyes could kill, there was no doubt that Gus would have died numerous times.
What baffled Raphael the most was, if the wings were that bad, why continue to eat? It was really bold and ridiculous that not only did the owl eat the wings one after the other, but it also didn't spare any of the bones.
"Wheewww…" Gus uttered. Its stomach had already become twice the size of its body.
When it saw there were still a few buffalo wings in front of Raphael, an excited expression appeared on its face instantly. It appeared in front of Raphael, not staring at the person in front but inside, its eyes were fixed on the wings below.
"Are you still eating this?"
Raphael knitted his brows when he heard the owl. Though it seemed like Gus was asking a question, he could tell that whatever reply he chose, Gus would still have its way.
There was no point arguing with the owl when it came to food, especially when it was buffalo wings. He slowly pushed the plate to Gus's front, causing the expression on the owl's face to light up.
Gus then dragged the plate over to its side and began to latch onto the wings. "I don't want this to go to waste, that's why I'm eating this. If not, there's no way I will continue to eat this."
"But seriously, you screwed up, Raphael. I can't believe you lost two good women who could cook buffalo wings for me. At least keep one of them, now look I'm stuck with you here. Sometimes all you think about is yourself."
The complaint didn't stop there, it continued, but when Gus began to bring in Elisa and Aurora, Raphael left the table quickly. He had to or else instead of a plate of buffalo wings he would have a plate of owl wings on the table.
"Good! Go watch Me tube and learn how to make proper buffalo wings."
If Raphael didn't know better, he would have assumed there was something wrong with the buffalo wings the way Gus complained about it, but he ate the wings, and there was seriously nothing wrong with it. It might have been more spicy than usual, but that was all.
He ignored Gus's complaints and walked to the gadget room.
The gadget room was where he kept most of his gadgets. And unlike his gadget room in dale city which stored a majority of his gadgets, the gadget room in New Age City was rather empty.
Raphael stared at the empty cabinet and shelves in the room for a few seconds and moved towards one of the cabinets. He placed his hand inside the cabinet and a white ball appeared. The ball had lightning coiling around its body and when it was let out of the ring it began to spin.
"I will leave Gus to name you," Raphael said with a smile on his face.
Though every gadget was unique in its own way, the ball was one of Raphael's favorites. While wasn't the strongest or the weakest among the gadgets he had created, the ball was the one that had evolved the most.
It started from a lightning throw to a lightning burst, then a lightning web, and finally a rain of lightning. After the fourth evolution, Raphael hadn't placed much attention on the ball, or else he would have taken it up to the fifth evolution.
After placing the ball in the cabinet, Raphael placed another one by its side. He didn't dwell that much on the gadget, as it was an experimented gadget.
It would of course, still be sold for millions on the market, but Raphael considered it a failure nonetheless. More and more gadgets were soon placed inside the cabinet, and when he had filled the whole cabinet in the room, he moved over to the shelves.
Sometimes later, Raphael stood in the middle of the room, he stared at the gadget in the room, and the smile on his face couldn't help but widen. He found extreme joy in staring at the gadget in the room that he didn't mind spending a whole day just with them.
"It was all fun creating each one of you, but for the greater good, I'm going to have to let you go," Raphael said in a soft voice.
