Chapter 237: The Secret
Chapter 237: The Secret
"Is he also here?" Lin Xiao asked.
Prince Lin San shook his head. "He’s not in the mission here if that’s what you’re asking. Our Brother had already reached Golden Core Stage 2, but he refused to take graduation exam because he wants to be able to stay in the academy to watch over us."
"Oh right, how come I didn’t meet you in the academy?" Lin Xiao asked again. He had never seen Prince Lin San there even though they were supposed to be of the same age.
Looking at Lin Xiao, Prince Lin San smiled sheepishly. "I’m one year above you. I entered Sun Dragon Academy last year."
Lin Xiao: "..." no wonder.
During the one week after the entrance examination, the seniors were also allowed to go into the capital city to play. Prince Lin San might have used that chance to walk around and coincidentally met with Lin Xiao, who was also roaming around.
At that time, they didn’t know each other and treated each other courteously.
Lin Xiao glanced at the men that followed Lin San. "There’s something else that I need to tell you, but this might not be the right place."
"Ah, ok."
Prince Lin San pulled his older brother, who was busy contacting their first brother while they headed into the forest. The others wanted to follow them, but Prince Lin San looked at them with warning, preventing them from even getting close to them.
Lin Yun looked at his older brother with question but he soon understood what Lin Xiao wanted to do. He kept his silence and chose to agree with what Lin Xiao did because Lin Xiao would need to convince the other two about this.
They entered the woods where the trees covered their vision. Prince Lin Xian had already finished making the call and sent images over along with his memory recording. It was a high skill technique that only Golden Core Stage cultivators could do, but it seemed that Lin Xian had the skill.
"What is it?" Prince Lin San asked curiously.
Lin Xiao smiled and reached out to his headband. He always used it continuously in fear that someone might noticed the mark on his forehead. But now, he wanted to show it to these two.
As he had opened his headband, the crown mark on his forehead was clear. Both Prince Lin San and Prince Lin Xian were stunned speechless. Their scholarly appearance that they kept before was thrown to the back as they got closer to Lin Xiao and looked at the mark intently.
If they didn’t know what that mark was, it meant that they were complete idiot.
"That... that...."
"Emperor’s Inheritance." Lin Xian felt that the world was falling apart. After so many years Emperor’s Inheritance didn’t appear in this place, now one appear. Not only that, it was obtained by his younger brother.
He felt the world is too bizarre.
Lin Xiao smiled bitterly. "Honestly, I don’t even know that I have dragon power in my body until I got this. But since I already have this, I have the obligation to sit on that place no matter what."
Prince Lin San nodded. Now he understood why his eyes of truth had that strange foretelling to him. It was saying to him that Lin Xiao had to become the Emperor and that was the truth.
Those who obtained Emperor’s Inheritance had to inherit the throne or they would die and the kingdom where they were born would be plunged into deep chaos and finally destroyed. After all, the human had defied the one chosen by the Heaven and the world would not forgive them for killing him.
"San, you’re the best," Prince Lin Xian said in choked voice. Not only they found out the truth about their younger brother but also the fact that he was someone who had the Emperor’s Inheritance.
He had to obtain the throne.
But even if many people heard the legend of what happened to a kingdom should the one who had Emperor’s Inheritance died because of his own people, many didn’t want to believe it. The tales came from many years ago and a lot of people didn’t believe in its authentic anymore.
"Ha ha ha... I can’t believe it myself." Prince Lin San closed his eyes and ruminated. To think that he would find everything out like this... what an irony that reuniting with his younger brother actually led to this.
Lin Xiao wore the headband again. He was not the only one who wore headband amongst cultivators because many saw it as something cool. Thanks to this, he didn’t attract many suspicious gazes looking at him when he was wearing the headband.
They only treated it as his sense of fashion that liked the headband.
Prince Lin Xian glanced at the Communication Jade. "First Brother will come here in a few months’ time. We should continue to hunt during that time."
"Got it."
"Also, can I tell them that you’re actually of Royal Family to my men, Your..."
"Call me using my name." Lin Xiao didn’t want so many people calling him with honorific. He was already tortured enough by his men and didn’t want his brothers, whom he finally met after so many years, to add it.
Prince Lin San smiled. "Lin Xiao, do you mind if I tell them you’re a prince? I won’t leak it that you’re my twin brother, though."
It was not a secret that Prince Lin San’s twin brother had quite a lot of dragon power even as a child. This had caused many people to be wary back then and eventually led to the assassination targeted at such a young toddler.
If they knew that Lin Xiao was actually that toddler, there might be more people who were aiming for his lives again. Lin Xiao wouldn’t want to put his life in danger again so quickly.
"Can you trust them?"
"If its these men, yes."
"Alright. Just the fact that I’m a Royal Family member but ask them to not leak it to anyone."
