Chapter 595 Family
The crowd erupted in deafening cheers and shouts of admiration. Klaus had made archery competition history not only at the NIST Tournament sponsored by Hónghé Holdings, but also across the national competitive archery scene. It was very rare to see someone achieving a score bordering on perfection and reaching a score that seemed unattainable.
His amazing performance left everyone impressed, and he only got a sense of that when he stepped out of the booth and was startled by the euphoria of the entire arena, which was very loud.
Klaus was greeted with pats on the back and warm compliments from the other competitors, because everyone recognized the magnitude of the feat he had accomplished. Even those competing with him for a place in the grand final could not help but admire his undeniable skill, for he had practically hit every target he could hit.
Ethan, who had teased Klaus earlier, was also impressed. Although his pride was hurt at having been outdone, he could not deny the genius of Klaus' performance. So he just crossed his arms and kept quiet. There was a new understanding between the two archers, a mutual respect that arose from admiration for the other's talent.
While the crowd was still celebrating, Klaus kept his composure, smiled humbly at the crowd and waved to them. He was tired, but he knew he had done a great job.
The narrator of the televised event, Peter, was trying to recover his voice after Klaus' thrilling display. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have witnessed an exceptional archery performance today! Klaus has demonstrated unparalleled skill and accuracy, surpassing all other competitors and establishing his position at the top of the table!"
"Indeed, Peter! It was an incredible performance! I have no words to describe what we have just seen here!" said commentator Caio, visibly impressed with Klaus' performance.
The crowd was still giving Klaus a standing ovation, and the cheers and shouts echoed around the gym, filling the space with an electrifying atmosphere. Klaus felt grateful for the warm reception from the audience, and meanwhile, in the middle of it all, was his family, Chun, Michael and Ard Park, all emotional, because they had witnessed first-hand Klaus Park's amazing performance. Tears of pride and excitement filled the eyes of his mother, Chun, as she smiled broadly at his son. His father, Michael, was equally moved, clapping enthusiastically and holding his wife's arm affectionately. Ard, Klaus' younger brother, looked up at the stage with awe in his eyes, inspired by his middle brother's extraordinary achievement.
The Park's were a close-knit family, and they always supported each other. That's why, since the beginning of the archery competition, they had been watching Klaus, encouraging him from afar and cheering for his success. And now, seeing Klaus shining in the spotlight, it was a mixture of pride, joy and gratitude.
As the euphoria continued, Klaus' family joined other spectators in giving the young archer a standing ovation. They knew that this moment was special and unique, something that would be imprinted in their memories forever.
Klaus waved to his family, sending them a warm smile full of gratitude as he made his way to the competitors' seats.
After that, there were five more competitors to show off their skills and finally the competition went into a break as the organizers prepared for the third and final challenge of the day.
Therefore, the Park family met with Klaus backstage. When Chun saw Klaus, she hugged him affectionately, murmuring words of how proud he was of his effort.
"You, Klaus, are special and extraordinary. What you did out there was amazing, and you fill us with such pride..." said Chun with tears in her eyes.
Michael also patted her back, a little embarrassed to show a closeness he never had with Klaus. "Son, you showed incredible determination and skill. It was a memorable and unforgettable performance. I am proud of you."
Ard, Klaus' younger brother, jumped up and down with excitement. "That was amazing, brother! Incredible! I want to be like you when I grow up! You looked so fast I thought I was watching a superhero movie!!!"
Klaus smiled at his family, feeling deeply moved by the support and love they were receiving.
"Thank you all... You've always been there for me, and that gives me the strength to keep looking for the best for all of us."
As the family chatted and hugged backstage, organizers changed the format of the arena one last time. So, after a brief ten-minute break, the organizers announced that it was time for the last challenge of the day, the challenge that would whittle the competitors down from ten to five, meaning half of everyone was leaving.
Michael gave his son another pat on the back, expressing his silent support and pushing him to go all out in the last challenge needed to qualify for the final. In the arena, the competitors with the highest scores in the previous two challenges gathered for one last test of skill and strategy to determine who would qualify.
The crowd was ecstatic, and the atmosphere was tense.
First, the arena was transformed from a sequence of shooting stands to a closed circuit with targets, and now it was transformed into a simulated forest with semi-transparent trees created with holograms and other obstacles, but with hundreds of cameras positioned to capture the competitors.
The narrator, Peter, excitedly announced:
"And here is the final challenge of the day! Competitors will have to show their dexterity not only in aiming, but also in the ability to move and shoot in a challenging and natural environment! They will have to go through this forest setting, created with very high-tech holograms provided by Hónghé Holdings, and their goal will be to find the golden animals and hunt them down."
"That's sure to be very exciting, Peter. And don't worry, the five golden animals that will appear in this forest are also made of holograms!"
"That's good news, Caio! HAHAHA!"
