Chapter 219: Third World: Ranzhe vs Xieling Round 1
Chapter 219: Third World: Ranzhe vs Xieling Round 1
Seeing that Qie Ranzhe didn't respond, Wen Qinxi began to panic a little. Who knows what crazy things this CEO was cooking up in that broken brain of his. He turned to Airen as though seeking assistance and Airen immediately understood and said, "He's probably your doppelganger so please be reassured General."
Qie Ranzhe seemed a bit convinced but he didn't respond glancing over at Qie Xieling who was being spoilt by Feng Zi. Besides having food placed on his bowl, Feng Zi would occasionally feed him leaving Qie Ranzhe with complicated feelings.
The general might have taken it well but Zhao Huangzhi wasn't satisfied by this answer so she said, "What's your name?" folding her arms across her chest staring at the boy.
Qie Xieling finally took note of the lady wearing an ugly face and said, "I am Q-," but his mouth was suddenly stuffed with a piece of roasted pork. Startled, he turned to look at Feng Zi.
"His name is Lin Lin," replied Wen Qinxi on Qie Xieling's behalf. Wouldn't it seem crazier if they found out the Qie Ranzhe look alike was also surnamed Qie.
Zhao Huangzhi's brows furrowed deeper even more suspicious. It was obvious, Feng Zi was hiding something but she didn't have enough evident to expose him. "Where are your parents?" she asked with a pompous look like a detective that was about to crack the case.
Qie Xieling didn't miss that look and decided he didn't like her. "I don't know. I have lived in an orphanage for as long as I can remember. I could only recall my name," replied Qie Xieling fiddling with the pendant hung around his neck. It was then that Zhao Huangzhi caught sight of the animal carved on the pendant.
Her eyes widened in surprise. This kid not only resembled Qie Ranzhe but coincidentally transformed into a dragon as well. Her blood boiled in anger. There could only be one possibility which was Qie Ranzhe was lying. He definitely got a woman pregnant and somehow Feng Zi stumbled upon Qie Ranzhe's estranged child. As to the reason why Feng Zi would keep that child by his side? It was to manipulate Qie Ranzhe.
Having reached the most plausible conclusion she stood up and stomped away in anger hoping Qie Ranzhe would follow behind and placate her. Ten minutes later, Zhao Huangzhi had been standing outside throwing a fit but Qie Ranzhe still hadn't made his appearance.
What she didn't know was that the person she was patiently waiting for was scowling at Feng Zi who was attracting unnecessary attention. One man was actually brazen enough to approach them and ask for Feng Zi's number. Before Feng Zi could even reject him three people one woman, one kid and one man fiercely glared at him chasing him off with their hostility.
"Feng Zi, why didn't you change your clothes? I can see your exposed thighs from here," said Qie Ranzhe his expression that of disapproval..
Wen Qinxi unconsciously covered up his thighs with a flush creeping up his face as he retorted, "What the fudge does that have to do with you?"
Hearing the word fudge, Qie Xieling suddenly sprung up excitedly saying, "Fudge? Do you have some," tugging at Feng Zi's sleeve.
Wen Qinxi couldn't understand this kid's obsession with fudge so he thought it best to explain to prevent future misunderstandings. "No, dad will be swearing when he says fudge," explained Wen Qinxi resulting in the two adults at the table staring at him funny.
"So...no fudge?" said a disappointed Qie Xieling with his head drooping dejectedly.
"No fudge.....but tomorrow I will buy you ice cream," said Wen Qinxi patting Qie Xieling's head placating the little ancestor but it only warranted him another look of disapproval from Qie Ranzhe.
Feeling Qie Ranzhe's stare, Wen Qinxi asked, "What?" wondering how he had offended the big ancestor.
"Sugar is not good for him," said the general in an overly superior voice that had the three people at the table galring at him.
Wen Qinxi suddenly felt like he had been called a bad mum in public and so had to shut this man up. "Here eat some more so you can stop sprouting nonsense," shoving fried spinach into the man's mouth.
Qie Ranzhe was happy at first having been recognized disregarding that Feng Zi had yet again broken one of his rules feeding him with chopsticks the man had just used. But his heart soon turned a little sour when he realised that the Lin kid got meat yet he got vegetables. How was this fair? So he went back to being a nuisance.
"Cover up," said Qie Ranzhe tossing his coat at Feng Zi. Seeing Feng Zi obediently put on the coat, Qie Ranzhe felt a bubbly feeling inside but his blissful moment was soon dampened when the Lin kid chimed in,
"Dad looks good in whatever he wants to wear. Who cares, let them stare till their eyeballs fall off," smiling innocently at his cross dressed dad.
Qie Ranzhe wasn't sure what annoyed him more, the kid openly opposing him or the kid calling Feng Zi dad. He had a gut feeling that from now on he and this kid would be butting heads in the future.
Airen and Feng Zi could sense the lightning sparks between Qie Ranzhe and Qie Xieling making this situation a little awkward. She almost confident that the General was going to spank Qie Xieling. Airen was an assassin in the military and had gone through countless deadly situations but this situation had her spooked enough to excuse herself.
"I need to retouch my makeup so excuse me," said Airen standing up to leave but Wen Qinxi easily read through her uncreative lie,
"What makeup? Ever since I have known you the only thing close to makeup that you put on your face is a facemask?"
Airen wore a 'what the fuck' expression having being sold out and decided to change her excuse saying, "Ate too much sushi. I have a running tummy," clutching her abdomen before running away in huge strides.
"Who exactly is running here? Your stomach or you? No loyalty whatsoever," he muttered before turning around only to find the two eating while glaring at each other. Too keep the peace, Wen Qinxi took Qie Xieling's chopsticks and said, "let's go, bedtime," before carrying him.
The once black expression on Qie Xieling's face vanished replaced by an adorable visage that could drive girls crazy. "But I am not done," said Qie Xieling in protest.
"Yes you are. You can raid the minibar in the room if you are still hungry. Your dad can afford it," before whisking him away.
Having won by default, Qie Ranzhe seemed pleased with himself and followed behind to pay the bill. His victory was short lived because Zhao Huangzhi suddenly made a reappearance like a vicious ghost coming seeking vengeance ruining his night.
