Saving the overbearing CEO

Chapter 305: Fourth World: What Do You Want From Me?

Chapter 305: Fourth World: What Do You Want From Me?

Dealing with this Qie Ranzhe in the fourth world proved to be much difficult than the rest. Maybe it was because of the kind of circumstances they were in or the CEO was finally showing more of his overbearing side. He had cursed the man out more than usual even though they had not spent more than an hour in each other's presence.

It meant he would have to work harder to conquer his lover in this world. Qie Ranzhe still refused to look at him with his head lowered while contemplating whether to eat the fish or not. Wen Qinxi felt like pinching the man to death. 'What does he think? It's not like I put an aphrodisiac in his fish,' thought Wen Qinxi while glaring at Qie Ranzhe.

A notification suddenly popped up in his mind. There was a message in his inbox which was odd because ever since he entered this game, he hadn't received a message before. Curious, he opened his inbox and read the message.

System: I wouldn't put it past you.

'Fuck!' cursed Wen Qinxi realising the system was responding to his earlier remark about putting an aphrodisiac in Qie Ranzhe's food. It seems Jolie didn't have the guts to appear but couldn't pass the opportunity to mock him so it chose to send a message.

System: You are that thirsty XD.

Angered to death, Wen Qinxi stood up and took the fish away from Qie Ranzhe before taking a nibble eating fish bones in the process. Qie Ranzhe who had just had his food snatched away from him, raised his head leering at the culprit. He hadn't come to terms with Su Xin being nice to him because in his world one had to want something to be this nice. Yeah sure, Su Xin needed help with the Su family but what was up with the extra things?

This kind of behaviour made him think that Su Xin had a thing for him but how could that be? He knew Su Xin's true self like the back of his hand. This is why he was hesitating to eat this mediocre piece of grilled fish.

What he didn't expect was that his actions would be mistaken for fear of being poisoned. So he watched as the man almost choked on fish bones just to prove a point.

Wen Qinxi coughed a little while trying to maintain a calm demeanour. He handed back the fish to Qie Ranzhe and said, "See it's fine... I didn't do anything to it. Now eat up so you can have the energy to walk tomorrow. Can't have you fainting from hunger otherwise will both be stranded," before sitting down furthest away from Qie Ranzhe.

The entire cave fell into silence with only the crackling sound of burning twigs coming from the fire. Wen Qinxi who had finished eating a minute ago, couldn't hold back as a tremendous wave of exhaustion loomed over him. His eyes became heavy as he leaned back at the cave wall. Just as he closed his eyes Qie Ranzhe chose this exact moment to get some answers.

This was entirely on purpose. As to the reason why? It is because there is a way to get a sleeping person to confess or divulge information which is backed up by research. And this CEO naturally knows about it. This wasn't just random information buried in Qie Ranzhe's consciousness but a thing he had used on the same person in high school during a camping trip.

Back then Wen Qinxi was sharing a tent with his deskmate and just as he fell asleep, Qie Ranzhe kicked out the other nerd for three hours straight. One would think that maybe he would take advantage of his crush, steal a kiss or maybe cuddle a little but that's not what Qie Ranzhe did. Instead, he ogled at Gecko with a tender filled gaze while asking him some questions.

Ever wondered how Qie Ranzhe knew so much about Wen Qinxi? It was because of that night. From his favourite drink and believe it or not, favourite subject. He also took the opportunity to find out the situation with Nu Shen especially after he personally sabotaged the nerd's first love confession. Unfortunately for him, he found out that the subject of his affection still liked Nu Shen.

Displeased, he casually dropped this sentence, "You are not allowed to like Nu Shen." Maybe it was a psychological thing but after that night Wen Qinxi seemed to have lost interest in Nu Shen which was undoubtedly weird. The teenage Wen Qinxi finally understood the saying 'human hearts are fickle'. His deskmate was also bribed into silence and became a double agent spying on Wen Qinxi for Qie Ranzhe.

Despite having no memories of the real world, Qie Ranzhe still had his old habits and he was about to use them on Su Xin. In gentle slow steps, he walked over to the man who had his head hanging to the side possibly falling into a deep sleep.

Qie Ranzhe silently sat next to Su Xin staring at that handsome face that wreaked havoc in his city. He couldn't help but wish Su Xin was average looking. At least he wouldn't stir up this much trouble and possibly stay by his side. Reaching out with his long slender fingers, Qie Ranzhe gently tucked away a stray strand of hair hanging on Su Xin's forehead. Such a gentle action filled the atmosphere with fluffy cotton candy. His gaze gave off the same air that would make one think he was in love but to be more precise, it was the re-ignition of an incurable obsession.

"Xin-er," he called out in a deep melodious voice that could have plenty of fangirls screaming their lungs out. He leaned in close to Su Xin's ear and whispered, "Xin-er."

Wen Qinxi responded after the second call with a low, "En," completely unaware of what was about to happen.

"What do you want from me?" he asked with his dilated pupils sweeping over Su Xin's face. Wen Qinxi didn't immediately respond mumbling something but Qie Ranzhe was terrifyingly patient. In a gentle tone, he whispered again, "Tell me, what do you want?"

It seemed Qie Ranzhe had asked the right question because the nerd sold himself out mumbling, "You." Qie Ranzhe's heart thumped as he felt his face heat up. He couldn't believe it so he inquired further.

"Xin-er, do you know who I am?" he asked while holding his breath almost losing his calm demeanour. This man had shattered his heart to pieces, slept with half of the women in their circle only to tell him he wants him?

What a joke.

He truly believed Su Xin had mistaken him for someone else but his assumption was soon debunked when he heard the man whisper, "Ran-ge..... let me sle, sleep," as he turned around to lay on Qie Ranzhe's chest.

Su Xin didn't stop there, he moved around a little with his brows creased as though looking for a comfortable spot and once he did, his brows relaxed as he stopped shuffling around. No one in this world could understand Qie Ranzhe's feelings at this moment. He had wanted to get some information from Su Xin but he was taken advantage of and used as a body pillow.
