Chapter 697 Pass
Before the Royals and Damien had gathered in the fighting arena, Ariel had gone to knock on Kenneth's door.
She wanted to clarify everything to Kenneth as well. And after thinking a lot, she also felt that letting the duel happen, especially between Damien and Kenneth, could lead to some really unfavorable outcomes. So she wanted to ask Kenneth to cancel the duel or at least postpone it.
However, a guard came and informed her that the Crown Prince was not there in the room.
She waited there in the common room for him to arrive. Her cousins and Damien also gathered in the common room. Kenneth was the only one who wasn't there.
After a while, Ariel asked those who were in the common room, "Hey, shall we all just take a stroll around or do something else? I don't think we should be–"
However, Kenneth arrived there like a gust of wind, and then before Ariel could complete what she was saying, he said in a monotone, "I had asked the servants to prepare the fighting arena. They must have opened the doors by now. Let's go."
"Yes, let's go," Zach instantly got up from his seat.
And Ramon also got up next.
Those two were oblivious to the incident that had happened earlier between Ariel, Kenneth, and Damien. So they immediately agreed with Kenneth.
Niylah, on the other hand, showed some reluctance. She nervously glanced at Ariel and asked, "Um… Don't you think we should rest today? We walked a lot after all."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Ariel gratefully looked at Niylah as if she was her savior. And she agreed to her, "Yes, I think we should leave the duel be. Let's just sit here and talk… or do something else."
Kenneth, however, said with a straight face, "I don't think a little exercise will hurt."
He then gave a piercing glare to Damien and turned around. And without waiting for anyone to further argue with him, he started to walk away.
Zach and Ramon followed after him.
Ariel sighed and glanced at Damien.
And Damien winked at her and mouthed, "I know."
The three of them also followed after the three who had already reached the spiral staircase.

"Yes, I am ready to beat your arse." Ramon shot himself towards Zach with a smirk on his face.
Zach tightened his fists and then waited for Ramon to get in his range. He read Ramon's first move. He was going to kick him on the side. So he mentally prepared himself to lock Ramon's leg with his hand and then flip him down.
As he had expected, Ramon did throw a kick on his stomach. And he even caught Ramon's leg. However, when he tried to push Ramon off balance, he wouldn't move an inch.
"Nice try," Ramon gave a mocking smile to Zach. And even though Zach was tightly locking his leg, he used his brute force to push Zach down to the ground.
"Arghh!" Zach's screamed in pain because his shoulder hit the ground real hard.
Ramon was used to fighting Niylah in her wolf form. So, he used a little too much force than he intended to.
Ramon instantly knelt down beside Zach and asked, "Hey, are you hurt badly?"
"Yes! You ruthless monster!" Zach angrily shouted at Ramon and even tried to throw a kick.
However, he ended up hurting himself even more. So he screamed, "I give up. Ariel! Help!"
Ariel instantly ran and stood by Zach's side. She turned him on his back and then pushed his shirt's collar to examine his shoulder. There were visible bruises on him.
Ramon also saw that and felt guilty for not going easy on his cousin. "I'm so sorry! It had been a while since I last fought you so I miscalculated my strength."
Zach frowned at Ramon and looked at Ariel.
Ariel was already closing her eyes and was healing him.
Soon enough, Zach felt his pain gradually going away. And within a minute or two, he was as good as new.
Ariel opened her eyes and checked his shoulder again. The bruises were completely gone. "You are fine now."
Zach got up from the ground and tried moving his arm and shoulder. He didn't feel any hint of pain. So he thanked Ariel and glanced at Ramon.
Ramon still had a guilty look on his face. So Zach muttered, "You don't have to look at me like that. It's not your fault that I couldn't defend myself properly. I need to train hard."
"Yes, that I agree," Ramon put his arm around Zach's shoulder and then walked to the side where Niylah was standing.
Ariel was still in the middle of the fighting arena. So she turned to look at Niylah and then asked, "Shall we fight next?"
However, Niylah gave up before even trying. "I am going to lose anyway. So why don't we just skip it?" Besides, Niylah's wolf senses were catching so much hostility in the air that she was feeling overwhelmed. She wanted to get away from the fighting arena as soon as possible.
"But, Niylah…" On the other hand, Ariel wanted to stall as much as possible so that Kenneth's anger would subside. "I promise not to use any magic. And I promise that I won't use much of my strength on you. So, hop in. It will be fun."
However, Niylah was adamant about not fighting. She shook her head and said, "No. I don't feel so good. I want to rest."
Ariel couldn't force Niylah anymore. So she unwillingly left the center of the arena.
Damien glanced at Kenneth and then said, "That leaves the two of us."
Kenneth kept on giving a death glare to the demon and walked to the center. And so did Damien.
Ariel nervously wiped the sweat beads from her forehead as the boys stood a few meters apart from each other.
Damien challengingly looked at Kenneth.
Kenneth was surrounded by the thick fog-like red aura that was only visible to Damien and Ariel. And now that he was in the arena and was facing Damien, the aura became even more intense and widespread.
Damien's lips curved up subtly, and he said in his calm voice, "Whenever you are ready."
