Solo Cultivation in The Apocalypse

Chapter 274 A Threat?

Hitori locked the door and slept for the rest of the day when he ran. He wanted to do nothing, he did not even care about his safety at that point.

He woke up the other day and checked for the enchantment. It cost most of his mana to create an enchantment only on the ground floor. He did it and then slept for the rest of the day.

He just lay on the bed after ten at night. He took something to eat, then went to bed again. He wanted a plan to counter, but he wanted to know whether Reon was okay or not.

He first thought about what after she is alright? What if he has already raped her? What if he killed her– or worse– broke her legs as he did to Akemi? That kept him awake for most of the night. At dawn, he found himself awake automatically.

He rose from the bed and raced to the console lying wasted in the corner of the room. He grabbed his jacket from the corner of the bed and dug out his card.

He tapped the card into the slot without thinking twice (he had already thought about this for a long time) now was the time to set his plan into action.

He thought the console would need a refresh since it was not used for a few days, the game loaded immediately, leaving Hitori satisfied, but terrified at the same time.

He was afraid of the unknown. What was waiting for him? Will Onogi meet him? What does Onogi have for him? Will the players attack him again? Now he wished it would have been better if the game had taken its time to load.

He saw his avatar spinning on the screen. He first decided to change the avatar before anything. So he launched the editing phase and started editing his avatar. A new look was what he exactly needed.

It was a different matter that he could not come up with a new avatar, so he decided to copy someone's avatar.

He changed his hair to blue and his eyes black. He chose a navy blue robe to enhance his appearance. A wand by the side, he thought about a staff though, then for the finishing touch, he chose a black wizard's hat, with the tip tilting to the side.

He took a look at his appearance and thought, Yeah, totally not me. He thought about some additional accessories, but that was not his style.

Although he was changing his appearance, he wanted it to be of his choice, he wanted the originality in it, not a copy of others. He respected his ideology.

Now was the time to change his name. From Ryu, he changed his name to Ryota which means Splendid or Clear. A perfect replacement for his old name. Now unless someone remembered his unique code, he was safe.

He took a deep breath and opened the inbox. No message from anyone, no message from Onogi either. Now his heart was beating faster than before, these signs were up to no good.

Hitori took a moment, then pressed the log-in. He closed his eyes and felt his head fall on the headrest of his chair as a magic circle appeared above his head. He was lost in the World of Gaming.

When he opened his eyes, he saw numerous players chatting and shouting. His instincts made him draw his wand at that instant. But no one paid him any attention, he was self-conscious.

He sighed and ran out of the Spawning area. He glanced around, they were busy with their shit. Hitori heard a monster charge at him, he created a circle of fire, but the monster leaped inside.

Hitori raised his wand at the monster and shouted, "Fireball!" A ball of fire erupted from his wand and entered the monster. The next moment, the blood and insides of the monster flew all over.

[Killed an unclassified monster]

"Oh, I missed that." He felt like crying, not due to the nostalgia, no, but because of the people, to whom the memories of the past were connected.

He heard a message beep, and it was from his inbox. He opened and found what he was not, but should have been, expecting Onogi's message.

"Yo, bitch. Meet me at this address. Let me show you something."

Then popped an address which turned out to be an in-game address. Hitori saw no danger in going to the address he wanted to meet him. Things ought to be sorted.

He went to the address. It was over the north side of the map, the place where Kamiya had located Onogi's Empire to be. So Onogi was calling Hitori to his empire, for what?

Hitori did not care about dying or getting killed in the game again, or ever. It did not matter. He was not a player and would not go back to gaming unless he finishes this game.

"I have reached." He texted.

A reply came immediately. "Take a few steps forward and look on your left."

Right now, in front of Hitori was a big fort with numerous dungeons mixed into it. It had guards and monsters guarding the front wall. Machine Gun Towers were situated at each corner of the fort. And he believed an army of around a hundred monsters and men was inside the gate.

But he did as he was told. He took a few steps forward, he saw a black river– the same as in the forest– cutting the way to the fort. Now that he was close enough to see inside, he saw stables, a lab at the end, and a storage room. Just as far as he could see.

Then he turned to his left. This was rather a small formation of dungeons. Around five dungeons, Hitori guessed. The mixture of two snow and one fire dungeon, the other two were unknown but looked pretty strong.
