Chapter 262
262 The demon opens her eyes
Vincent closed his eyes and tried thinking about happy thoughts. He was feeling angry, but his bloodlust might make the little girls terrified of him.
“Is Mister gonna punish the baddies? Can we get out soon? I am afraid of the dark.” The little girl hugging Vincent said.
“Yes, but I need a brave girl to meet with the baddie and smile while giving him a drink. Can you do it? You look like a brave girl.” Vincent asked of a dangerous request. He gently tussled her hair and smiled, but he knew what he was suggesting was wrong.
“Only if kind Mister is with me.” She replied with a smile.
“Thanks. Now go with your friends while I take a look at the poor woman over there.” Vincent thanked the little girl for accepting the request.
‘Even if I have to kill Demel with my hands and make this plan fail, no one will touch this little girl.’ He thought with unwavering conviction.
[Vincent, I know how you are feeling right now. I too feel sick about what we are asking the elf to do and the little girl meeting Demel to make him drink the potion of karma.]
-You can’t feel what I am feeling... The anger inside me wants to paint this mansion red, but I can’t lose control.-
[...]
.....
Vincent wanted to change the subject. He turned his gaze and looked at the demon under the blue-stained rags.
Vincent became curious about how an oni looked like. The elf mentioned she was a muscular woman, and it made him more intrigued.
Vincent got up and walked over to the demon. He stopped when the elf said how she would clean the demon’s wounds. Other times the elf would keep insisting until the demon gave up.
Vincent nodded and and walked over to the demon. He slightly lifted the sheet and saw blue blood stained on her legs.
Vincent immediately turned and asked the elf to cover the girl’s eyes. The elf understood his intentions and asked the girls to look at the wall for now.
Vincent mustered his will and held his tongue from swearing. He pulled the rag aside after no young eyes looked at the horrible state of the demon.
Vincent managed to keep silent. His eyes trembled in anger at the state of the demon because the condition status of his skill didn’t prepare him enough. Vincent looked more at the bone damage than the critical condition from losing too much blood.
Before him lay a helpless half-ragged clothed demon of the oni race, a demon race variant. Her face was puffed from bruises, and two holes were on her forehead. Her horns must have been pulled out.
Where the blue blood didn’t cover her skin and ragged clothes, her demon’s skin was quite similar to lavender color. Additionally, the elf was right about the demon of being muscular. The demon had a set of barely visible ABS, and her tall body was toned and firm from the daily work of being a blacksmith.
[Sometimes, I am happy my Photographic Memory is an active skill. I might have nightmares whenever I decide to rest.]
[Poor demon girl.]
-How about saving her?-
[Ehh!]
[You mean harem member number six? Are you sure you aren’t going to build an army?]
-A blacksmith in our group wouldn’t be bad since our professions are becoming more diverse. We have a dancer, a hunter, an intelligent soul, a gardener plus herbalist, and recently a noblewoman.-
[~Ehe~ You really know how to compliment a woman.]
Vincent looked at the poor demon and uttered, “Soul Power Minor Heal.”

The dark dim-lit room became illuminated by green light. The demon became encased by a layer of green healing light, causing the three little girls to turn their heads curiously. They didn’t get afraid since the demon’s body was too bright to make out her injuries.
“No looking. The green light might hurt your eyes. Girls, look back before your eyes start to itch and make you want to cry like cutting onions.” The elf tried to scare the little girls instead of shouting at them. The elf appeared to be more level-headed and experienced with managing people than she seemed to be.
After the light faded, new light briefly shone. Vincent filled a bowl of water and used a clean cloth to wipe the blood from the demon’s face.
“Mister, what did you do to her?” The elf asked. She looked curious since the demon didn’t look too much different from her position.
“Call me Vincent. And as for the light, I used a precious healing spell I can cast after I collect energy every day.” He answered.
Vincent kept cleaning the demon’s face. His heart sank when his fingers unintentionally touched the holes on her forehead. Most of the wounds healed halfway, and it included the holes from previously brutally plucked horns. Furthermore, the demon’s face didn’t look as puffy from the bruises anymore.
Vincent cleaned her neck, and he saw the black tattooed collar of the slave curse. Bad memories resurfaced of when Ester was in a bad state after resisting the slave curse.
Vincent wanted to change the subject quickly and think about something else before his anger took control of his actions. He looked at the elf and said, “Have you ever seen someone get healed before? I thought you would ask me why I used a healing spell on her.”
The elf shook her head and replied with a short answer, “You are a good human, a man named Vincent. I have never seen a slave receive healing in all my life. We are sold for a lower price before our value decreases too much.”
*Rustle* The rag slightly moved, and heavy breathing followed the sound. Vincent turned his head and saw the demon with her eyes squinted open.
“You’re awake! Here, let me make your face feel fresh.” Vincent placed the cloth in the water and wrung it not to drown the demon. He gently wiped her face and left the damp cloth on her forehead to hide the holes.
The demon slowly blinked her clouded eyes. She could feel a wet cloth cleaning her face and thought it was the annoying elf. A few seconds later, as her eyes settled, she saw a human man leaving a damp cloth on her forehead with a warm smile on his face.
The demon shuddered in fear at the thought of another brutal round of torture. The courage she possessed before was lost after she was almost beaten to death.
[Try to reassure her. You had me by your side when the pain made you give up in life.]
-I know. I could fight against the pain of the acid hell after realizing this life isn’t mine alone because of your help.-
“I am a good human that doesn’t hate demons, so don’t be frightened by my presence. I cleaned your face and healed your body by a bit, but I can’t save you with the minor heal I have... your injuries are still critical.” Vincent explained as warmly as he possibly could.
The demon moved her mouth, but only a hoarse groaning sound could be heard. She had a frown on her face, and she seemed in pain.
“Did those bastards make you drink something hot, and now you can’t speak?” Vincent asked.
The elf remembered how the demon stopped speaking two days ago. She informed Vincent and quickly averted her gaze.
Vincent’s eyes were gleaming in the dark full of rage. He looked scary to the elf. Vincent looked like he was about to go out of the room a massacre anyone who had done this.
Vincent turned his glare on the demon. She shivered from despair as the hand of the man oozing with an aura of bloodlust touched her lips.
The demon feared Vincent was about to rip her tongue for not responding, but she heard the words, “Soul Power Minor Heal.”

.
Her body illuminated her surroundings green once again, and the pain started to less painful by a bit. Additionally, her face and throat felt much better compared to other parts of her injured body.
“Can you talk now? You should feel a little bit better after I focused the second healing spell on your throat region.” Vincent then glanced at her stats once again, but she was still in a critical condition. “But, your condition is still critical. My healing can’t save your life because you have lost too much blood.”
Vincent turned his head and asked the elf, “Do you know if demon and human blood are compatible? I can offer her some of mine...”
“No!” She exclaimed with a low, hoarse voice.
The demon’s face wasn’t as bruised as before. She frowned and looked angry as if Vincent was about to do an unspeakable thing to her body.
[What’s wrong with her? She looks more scared of your words than death. Is human blood poisonous? Can kill a demon from excruciating pain?]
Kazumi assumed. However, the elf quickly explained how the demon’s blood is blue, and it turns purple after a few conditions are met.
“I learned about these conditions when I met a demon succubus slave.”
“The first condition is when a blue-blooded demon has half a cup or less volume of red blood enter their body system in one year. Digestion or transfusion will produce the same result, she told me.”
“The blood condition is well known within the slave traders and demons. However, the second condition is what the captured demons fear the most.”
