To the surprise of everyone, Wan Guotao suddenly soared into the air and smashed a huge hole through the roof, intending to escape.

Wan Guotao was noble and aloof, but that was when he had the absolute power to crush his opponents.

At the very least, it was evident that Lin Shen, the Mutator, had the capability to kill Ascenders.

Facing two opponents, Wan Guotao did not feel certain; he did not wish to take the risk. Outside the base, the Wan Family had twelve Ascenders; both Lin Shen and Lin Miao were in a fatal situation. He did not need to take risks under these circumstances.

Without any hesitation, Lin Shen sprang towards the sky, chasing after Wan Guotao through the hole he had created.

Instructor Mu had been closely monitoring the situation from a nearby small building, and when he suddenly heard the terrifying noise coming from the courtyard, he gritted his teeth and prepared to rush over.

But before he could make a move, he saw a figure burst out of the house, and it was none other than Wan Guotao, followed by another figure in pursuit.

This scenario was something Instructor Mu had never anticipated, and he was momentarily stunned.

Not only was Instructor Mu caught off guard, but an Ascender sent by Hai Daxiu to monitor the situation was also bewildered by these events.

He had considered various possibilities but never expected that Wan Guotao would be the one fleeing.

The person chasing after Wan Guotao donned a Mutator Carapace so splendid it seemed as if a deity from ancient times had emerged, its whole being seemingly radiating a sacred glow.

He had never seen anyone's Mutator Carapace shine so brilliantly. Although it was just a Base Mutation level, the sight of that armor alone gave off an overwhelming impression of power.

After Lin Shen emerged from the house, he immediately used Death Powder like a javelin, flinging it at Wan Guotao in mid-air.

Wan Guotao saw the dark red lightning-like Death Powder flying towards him and sneered internally, "Seeking death!"

The Mutator Carapace enveloped his entire body, and at the same time, he drew a Spirit Base Sword, slicing at the incoming Death Powder.

The Death Powder's speed was certainly fast, but in Wan Guotao's eyes, it wasn't swift enough, giving him ample time to cut it down with his sword.

Everything happened so quickly that by the time Instructor Mu realized the person coming out from behind might be Lin Shen, it was already too late to intervene and rescue.

But then, a bizarre scene unfolded. When Wan Guotao's Spirit Base Sword hit the straight spear, the spear suddenly became impossibly pliable.

When the Spirit Base Sword struck it, no force could be applied.

Instead, the Death Powder wrapped around like a rope, using the force of his slice to coil around, binding not only the Spirit Base Sword but also Wan Guotao's sword-wielding hand.

On the other side, Lin Shen, hovering in midair, tapped his left foot on the back of his right, forcibly shifting a distance away as Wan Guotao's Life Base Sword grazed by, leaving a long scratch on Lin Shen's carapace as it soared into the sky.

Boom!

The golden Six Paths Phoenix burst through the air, transforming into a bolt of golden lightning and charging toward Wan Guotao in the sky.

The speed of the Six Paths Phoenix was simply too fast, Wan Guotao couldn't dodge in time, nor could he manage to shake off the Death Powder wrapped around his arm, and was forced to strike at the Six Paths Phoenix with his sword.

Insidiously, the Death Powder slithered along his arm, wrapping itself around Wan Guotao's body, as the Spirit Base Sword in his hand clashed harshly with the wing of the Six Paths Phoenix.

The Spirit Base Sword was severed by the wing of the Phoenix, and Wan Guotao's body was sent reeling backward in the air, flying directly towards where Lin Shen was.

Still in mid-recoil, Wan Guotao discarded the broken sword, grasped a Pet Launcher, and fired directly at Lin Shen a few meters away.

This was an Ascension Level Pet Launcher with a speed of 80. He had realized that Lin Shen's strength was incredibly powerful, outrageously so, even comparable to some Ascenders.

But Lin Shen's speed was still not fast enough, as he had failed to fully dodge his previous Life Base attack. With the Pet Launcher's speed of 80, the Ascension Pet it fired was something Lin Shen absolutely couldn't evade.

The Ascension Pet struck Lin Shen squarely, unable to kill him but certainly enough to take half his life, leading him to a dead-end regardless.

However, in the instant he fired, Lin Shen's speed surged crazily, reaching an inconceivable velocity.

Lin Shen hadn't expected such good fortune, that Wan Guotao would actually use a high-level Pet Launcher against him.

With the activation of Seven Steps of Conflict, Lin Shen's speed shot up to eighty, and he instantly crossed the few meters distance, hurtling forward to confront Wan Guotao in midair.

Wan Guotao was both shocked and furious, unable to comprehend how Lin Shen's speed could surge to the point where he was left behind.

Reaching out to strike at Lin Shen, his arm felt as though it was bound by rubber bands, stretching out by force but significantly slower.

The Death Powder wrapped around him stretched long and thin but didn't break.

Lin Shen zipped past him, dodging his punch while fiercely jabbing a finger under his ribs.

Wan Guotao thought he could withstand Lin Shen's jab without an issue, but once the finger landed on him, he suddenly felt his body stiffen, unable to move.

The Six Paths Phoenix swooped down from above, as Wan Guotao desperately tried to control his Life Base to return and block it, but it was still a step too late.

The Six Paths Phoenix dashed past Wan Guotao's side, slicing his body cleanly in two.

Wan Guotao's upper and lower halves separated, his eyes bulging to the extreme, and until death, he couldn't believe that he would die here.

"Don't kill him!" Almost at the same moment Wan Guotao was bisected, Instructor Mu's voice carried over, but it was a bit too late.

"Instructor Mu?" Lin Shen landed on the rooftop, looking at Instructor Mu with some confusion, not understanding why he would plead for Wan Guotao.

Noticing Lin Shen's thoughts, Instructor Mu said with a wry smile, "By killing Wan Guotao, you've made a mortal enemy of the Wan Family."

"It was already mortal enmity." Lin Shen said.

"The Wan Family has twelve Ascenders just outside the base, each no weaker than Wan Guotao, and among them is Wan Shuiliu, a Seventh Turn Ascender," Instructor Mu sighed.

"Twelve Ascenders!" Lin Shen's expression also changed. He had thought that after killing Wan Guotao and Lv Chengxue, there would be some time before the Wan Family sent more Ascenders after him, long enough for him and his sister to flee. He didn't expect the Wan Family to have twelve Ascenders waiting just outside the base.

Yet Lin Shen had no regrets about his choice; even if he hadn't killed Wan Guotao, the Wan Family would not have spared him.
