Super Invincible Battleship

Chapter 109 Chapter 81: Important Task_2

109  Chapter 81: Important Task_2

Takashi Hasegawa was not a martial artist, hence his understanding of human physical limits contained huge errors, and he never got a reasonable explanation for it, so his puzzlement over the gasoline, gasoline barrels, and the sniper rifle never reached a definitive conclusion. Frowning, he arrived at the last spot and, pointing at the marks on the ground, said, "From the marks here, it's apparent that the motorcycle rider killed by the assailant was fleeing with Miss Ryoko Oogawa. But for some reason, Miss Ryoko suddenly pushed the rider who was helping her escape to the back and used him to block the assailant while she herself took the chance to run away."

Takashi Hasegawa's assistant came over with an iPad and showed him the information on it. Hasegawa said, "So the motorcyclist's name was Koseki Ito. He has been harboring a secret love for Miss Ryoko, no wonder he resisted the killer so desperately to protect her."

Yoryo Oogawa watched Takashi Hasegawa deducing the case at the crime scene as if he had witnessed it all with his own eyes. Although Yoryo didn't know if Hasegawa's deductions were factual, just listening to him speak was quite impressive, and he felt a sense of respect mixed with incomprehension.

After investigating the last spot, Hasegawa stepped out of the forest once more onto the road outside and began to examine the traces there. After a while, he said, "Miss Ryoko was about to return to the estate but was tragically killed by a steel ball bullet at the last moment. It is truly a pity, she was only a step away from escape."

Yoryo Oogawa said, "Mr. Hasegawa, do you know who the killer is now?"

Takashi Hasegawa shook his head, "The killer is very cunning and powerful. I've only formed a preliminary impression of him; the current clues do not reveal his identity. I need to backtrack Miss Ryoko's escape route to find more evidence, and only then can we identify the real killer."

The streets near Yan Fei were in a state of tight martial law and inspection until the next day when the presence of police on the streets gradually diminished, and the martial law was lifted. Yan Fei finally breathed a sigh of relief. His injuries had mostly healed by midnight Tokyo time, thanks to the effect of a Mysterious Power, and after resting for one more day, he was fully recovered. Therefore, he decided to leave Japan that evening and return to China by stowing away on a cargo ship, to avoid any further complications. As long as he returned to China and abided by the law, all would be peaceful for him.

However, what Yan Fei did not expect was that in the evening, the surrounding police presence increased again, and they tightly sealed off the surrounding blocks, beginning to search each nearby house one by one. Some people were also subjected to intense questioning. Yan Fei became instantly nervous because these police were Fully Armed, carrying both light and heavy weapons, and even accompanied by armored vehicles, with police helicopters circling overhead. The inspectors entering homes looked like military personnel. He also overheard a few police officers saying to search carefully and that they must catch that Chinese person this time. He immediately realized that his cover had been blown and that Japan's police and Self-Defense Force members had now come knocking.

As the encirclement tightened, Yan Fei became increasingly anxious. He didn't know at which point a slip-up had exposed his whereabouts, but he knew that an unavoidable fight was imminent. Thus, the Drone that had been lurking at the bottom of Tokyo Bay began to move stealthily towards his location. The Drone, crawling along the seafloor and not moving quickly, went undetected by anyone. It then lay in ambush less than five kilometers away from Yan Fei, still submerged underwater.

Yan Fei silently prepared for a major confrontation, waiting for the situation to become uncontrollable. At that point, he would suddenly attack with the Drone, wreaking havoc before escaping in the chaos. Once he got away, he would immediately find a way to return home, vowing never to come to Japan again.

The police and Self-Defense Force soldiers slowly approached Yan Fei's rental home. Yan Fei hid behind the door, carefully watching the police outside. Suddenly, he heard a noise from the window behind him and a person flipped into the room from the window next door. Startled, he turned around and instinctively asked in Mandarin, "Who is it? Who's there?"

The person, initially hiding behind the curtain, came out as soon as Yan Fei asked the question in Mandarin. In perfect Mandarin, the person said, "Are you Chinese?"

Yan Fei was surprised; he hadn't expected the person who climbed through his window would be a beautiful woman in her twenties. She had a voluptuous figure, a pretty face, and an air of valor about her, speaking Mandarin with remarkable fluency. She was actually the neighbor who lived next door to him, but he had never intended to interact with the neighbors, nor had he visited them. Unexpectedly, she had climbed into his place today.

Yan Fei said, "Yes, I'm Chinese. Are you too?"

But the woman did not respond to Yan Fei's question. Instead, she urgently said, "Are you an overseas Chinese, a student here for studies, or a tourist?"

Yan Fei casually replied, "I'm here on a tour."

The woman's face showed hesitation for a moment before she finally spoke earnestly, "Comrade, I am also Chinese. I belong to an important department of the state, currently on a very important mission, but I have been discovered by the Japanese, and the police and Self-Defense Force members surrounding us are here to catch me. For the sake of us both being Chinese, I need your assistance right now." n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Yan Fei was taken aback. He had thought the police and soldiers outside were after him, only to realize they were drawn in by this woman. She claimed to be an official from China in trouble, seeking his help. Although he was not sure about the truth, given the circumstances and being in a foreign land, he decided to assist her. He said, "I'm willing to help. What do you need me to do for you?"

The woman struggled, her face tense. Finally, she took a deep breath and said, "Among those pursuing me, there are undoubtedly Japanese super experts, and I cannot guarantee my safety from them. So, for safety, I must entrust you with something, for you to keep it safe for me."

The woman took out a small USB drive from her bosom and said, "This USB drive contains very important data that might be the only copy left in the world now. It is extremely vital for our nation's development, so it absolutely must not fall into Japanese hands. I need you to guard this USB drive for me. If I don't come back to get it from you within three days, it means something has happened to me, and you must deliver this USB drive to this address."
