“Alright, you continue scanning, I’m heading back to Celeston City on a private jet now,” Finn Lewis said as he stood up resolutely.
Finn nodded, but he was still somewhat excited. He couldn’t help but rub his hands together. Truth be told, he hadn’t felt this kind of excitement for a long time since obtaining Zero. This is something Finn discovered underwater, something that even Zero didn’t know about. Could this not get Finn excited? If it came to a one-on-one, even the T1000 might not be his opponent. Plus, the guy had some sophisticated high-tech stuff aiding him. Luckily, he seemed somewhat hesitant to massively deploy ultra-modern weapons on Earth. Finn didn’t know why, but this was an opportunity for him. Damnit, he just had to muster enough points. Who knows who’d die first then.
The alien structure he discovered, although unknowable, couldn’t be less exciting to Finn. Perhaps it held something that could temporarily enhance his power, all without having to spend any points.
“Do we need more exploration robots?” Finn promptly asked. Though exploration robots were expensive, costing 10,000 each, Finn no longer cared. He wanted to figure things out first.
“Low-end exploration robots won’t work. Even if we increase their number, the efficiency improvement will be minimal. My personal opinion is, if you need one, you should directly exchange for an ultra-high-end exploration robot. It would cost 200,000 points. Although it’s an exploration robot, it’s equipped with quite a rich array of weapons. Most importantly, it can fly within the planet. If needed, it can even fly to the moon,” Olivia Thatcher quickly replied.
“Without thinking twice, get that robot,” Finn agreed immediately. With more than eight million points left after exchanging technology for his homeland, he didn’t hesitate to spend the 200,000.
The new exploration robot was soon exchanged. What surprised Finn was its size; it was not large, spherical, and about 30 cm in diameter. Despite its size, it could easily exceed the second cosmic velocity within the atmosphere. Like the engineering robot, it also had advanced shape-changing abilities, adapting to various environments.
Spendings of 200,000 points were undoubtedly worth it. Compared with a regular exploration robot, its probing process was much faster. Finn had it firstly scan the entire structure, completely probing its exterior within the coral reef, followed by determining its depth beneath sea level.
In just about twenty minutes, a primary scan and probe of the part above the seafloor was completed, roughly outlining the isosceles triangular column. Although it scanned through the coral reef, it revealed all the details on the surface of this column. Besides the hatch-like part that Olivia Thatcher had previously found, the rest was smooth as a mirror, devoid of bumps or pits.
Things turned sour when the probing reached the seafloor. This robot could scan through at least 500 meters of rock, but when it reached the seabed, the isosceles triangular column plunged straight into it. At about 400 meters deep, it discovered a significantly larger volume, covering an area of more than 300 square kilometers. The area was twice the size of the isosceles triangular column.
It perfectly matched the column’s size, and still continued downward. Finn had no choice but to order the robot to start drilling directly into the seabed. Luckily, its drilling speed was remarkably fast, even within a rocky seabed. By the time Finn returned to Celeston City the next day, he had received a complete 3D simulation scanning diagram—and an unexpected conclusion to go with it.
A conclusion that left Finn stunned. “Sir, we have preliminary scanning results. But, judging by the pattern we’ve scanned, I’m afraid our guess may not be correct,” Olivia Thatcher said. Finn knew his guess was wrong because the object in front of him was evidently not an artificial building—it was clearly a spaceship!
The part submerged under the sea was visibly damaged. The overall shape was a pyramid with an equilateral triangular base. The discovered part beneath was of a larger surface area, still an equilateral triangle, but connected to the top part. These two parts looked like a pyramid with an equilateral triangular base on top of another larger one.
Then combined, they formed a gigantic object. The height of the larger pyramid was precisely twice the one on top. Meaning, the top pyramid was 3,500 meters and the bottom one was 7,000 meters, adding up to a total height of 10,500 meters. However, the apex part, closer to the core of the Earth, was not intact; it had severe damage. It looked as if something had been torn from this column, and despite reaching the molten area, it was still extremely firm.
