Chapter 2123 - If I Become Pregnant, I’ll Give Birth to the Child
Chapter 2123: If I Become Pregnant, I’ll Give Birth to the Child
“Will she stay then?” Shen Luo’an wondered.
Shen Luo’an had already taken advantage of Shen Manting’s amnesia to trick her into registering their marriage.
It had just been slightly over half a month since she regained consciousness. Her body had almost fully recuperated and now, she had begun to menstruate again.
“If Shen Manting became pregnant at this point in time, I would never let her leave,” Shen Luo’an’s thoughts were racing.
He looked at her as this thought crossed his mind and his eyes glowed.
However, he quickly looked away and reached out to change the bedsheets to distract himself. “Sure. But this isn’t something that we can control. If you do become pregnant, surely we can’t abort the child,” he said.
When Shen Manting heard this, she subconsciously touched her stomach and whispered, “Will the child die if we abort it?”
“Yes,” Shen Luo’an replied. He then turned around and looked at her seriously before slowly stating, “Ultimately, it’s still a living creature. If you kill a living being, isn’t that the same as murder?”
Shen Luo’an spoke gravely as he looked at Shen Manting.
When Shen Manting saw his expression, she felt slightly terrified. She then asked timidly, “So it’s considered murder if I don’t want to give birth to the child?”
“There isn’t such a saying,” said Shen Luo’an as he placed the bedsheets down. “But it’s a tiny living creature and it has chosen you. If you don’t cherish it and even choose to abandon it, isn’t it as good as murder? Don’t you think so?” he questioned seriously.
Shen Luo’an’s logic was infallible and Shen Manting was momentarily at a loss for words.
She subconsciously caressed her stomach without saying a word.
“It’s just like how your biological parents abandoned you on the streets when you were young. Back then, if there hadn’t been that kind-hearted person who sent you to the orphanage, wouldn’t you be dead already? What your biological parents did was as good as killing you. Doesn’t that make them a murderer then?” Shen Luo’an said.
Shen Manting could not help but rebut and say, “But they gave birth to me. I have not even given birth to the child yet. Isn’t that...”
“That’s why you have to raise the child after you give birth to it,” Shen Luo’an had cut her off. “If you become pregnant and are unwilling to give birth to the child, then how are you different from them?” he asked.
Shen Manting was rendered speechless once again.
“So I have to give birth to the child if I become pregnant?” she asked. Shen Luo’an looked at her seriously and said, “Actually, giving birth to a child isn’t as painful as what you imagine. You have already experienced it once, so don’t be afraid because you survived through it before.”
“This time, I would be by her side. I would accompany her from the start until the end and I would take good care of her,” Shen Luo’an thought.
At first, Shen Manting was extremely certain of her decision. However, when she saw Shen Luo’an’s face full of anticipation, she was instantly swayed.
She looked down, in an attempt to hide her face from his overbearing gaze as softly replied, “If... If I become pregnant, I’ll give birth to the child. If I’m not pregnant, then I’m not having a child.”
Shen Luo’an finally grinned and embraced her gently before planting a kiss on her forehead as he whispered, “Ok.”
When Shen Manting saw how happy Shen Luo’an was, she instantly felt as though she was a lamb that had just entered a lion’s den; she felt as though she had just fallen into his trap.
She could not help but retort and exclaim, “If I do not become pregnant, you cannot and must not resort to despicable means to make me pregnant!”
Her cheeks were puffed up as she warned him seriously.
Shen Luo’an’s heart turned cold but he did not say anything, pretending that her words had not affected him. He then hugged her and gave her a quick peck on the lips.
Shen Manting could vaguely guess something was amiss and felt strangely displeased.
She quickly shoved him aside and turned to walk away from him.
