Chapter 325
325 Mama bears on steroids Yi Zhen half knelt before her as he pulled at his tie. “That’s great.. keep breathing baby. Just like we practiced... breathe breathe,” he said rubbing her thighs in a calming and soothing manner.
Lin Ruoxi eventually calmed down somewhat as her husband wiped her tears. “What do we do?” she asked her voice extremely low.
“You go home and pick up the kids then go to your father’s. I will go to Loch Ness star and pick up our son, okay?” he replied before pulling her into his embrace hiding the uncertainty in his eyes.
He wasn’t so sure if he could keep his family safe the moment he relinquishes control of the army but no matter what he couldn’t sacrifice his son.
While the Marshal was comforting his wife, Zi Xingxi was up to no good. She figured the Marshal wasn’t going to respond to her messages so she went out with Chronos without informing her father. In fact, he only found out when he saw her through the windshield of the warship.
He established a communication channel with her and asked, “What are you doing?”
Zi Xingxi studied the integrity of the shield while replying, “I... am doing what I am supposed to do. I am going to find this shield’s weak spot and bring my baby out. I have already lost my husband, dad I am not going to lose my son as well.”
Zi Feiji rubbed his forehead a little frustrated but soon he wasn’t questioning his daughter anymore because a loud series of explosions that could be seen from space occurred. Lucky for them it was only limited to that specific region but still. Zi Xingxi felt suffocated as she stared at the explosion. She couldn’t see anything except the glowing blaze in front of her. She was suddenly faced with the reality of possibly losing her son.
At this point, her soul had left her body and her ears were ringing thus she couldn’t hear her father calling her name.
.....
It was only after her father had shouted at her close to twenty times did she come back to herself. “Dad,” she said her voice breaking as the tears subconsciously flowed down.
“Don’t, don’t panic, okay? Just take a breath, okay? If you break down who would be able to save your son? You are the only one who can save your baby so take a deep breath and focus, okay?” he said his heart twisting painfully.
The last time Zi Xingxi called to him like this was the day her husband died. She had picked up his call and cried out ‘dad’ just like this. It broke his heart hearing his strong daughter break down and today she had called him the same way.
“Okay,” replied Zi Xingxi trying to calm down.
“Master, Igneous is still intact and the young sir is not in distress. His heartbeat showed a slight increase but it’s nothing serious,” said Chronos giving her an update that would hopefully calm her down.
ZI Xingxi wiped away her tears as she got herself together. “Thanks,” she said pulling up the image of the shield surrounding the planet that Chronos was analyzing for possible weaknesses.
“Are you okay?” asked Zi Feiji unclenching his fists.
“I am fine,” replied Zi Xingxi and Zi Feiji nodded his head as he relaxed his tense muscles.
“Lynn, can we hack into Sheba? This shield has to be linked to Sheba like the others?” asked Zi Feiji.
Lynn Feng came out of her stupor and said I am still working on it. She pulled up her chair and shook her hands to get rid of the tremors affecting her performance.
Zi Feiji unmuted the communication channel with the Captain and said, “Captain, we will update you when we find out anything. I expect you to do likewise.”
The captain didn’t even question why he had been muted. He just agreed before the floating screen closed ending the video transmission. As soon as he finished saying that Zi Feiji’s light brain flashed with the symbol of Hydra displayed on the screen.
His brow furrowed before he raised his head and said, “Let me know as soon as you find anything,” before leaving.
He entered the secure communication room. As soon as that door shut a floating screen appeared in front of him and the Marshal appeared. It seemed he was already in Cetus because he was standing in the warship’s secure communication room.
“Does this have something to do with you or my daughter?” asked Zi Feiji but the answer was obvious.
“It’s because of me,” replied the Marshal as he took a step forward with his index finger resting on his lips. After a moment of thought, he said again,
“Actually, it’s because your daughter has been behaving recklessly lately that they got very anxious and planned on using her as an excuse to accelerate the process to deprivatize the military and have something to fight her when she loses her mind.”
Zi Feiji wanted to refute that but he realized that he couldn’t. His daughter had indeed provoked a lot of people in the prime ministers’ office and it was only natural that someone would get impatient.
“So you are letting it all go?” asked Zi Feiji as he took a seat.
Marshal Yi shrugged his shoulders before saying, “I have no choice.
Zi Feiji laughed before saying, “You indeed still have a lot to learn. You can’t even see outside the picture placed in front of you.”
Marshal Yi’s brows furrowed while asking, “What do you mean?”
Zi Feiji stayed silent for a while with his finger resting on his chin thinking. While he was thinking Marshal Yi dared not disturb him.
After five minutes or so he said, “If it were me and I have been planning this thing for decades this would only be the beginning of the main course. The prince was the appetizer decades ago and the military is only a small part of the meal. They, whoever they are just don’t want the military... they want all the power... Do you see it now?”
Marshal Yi, “...”
“Think,” said Zi Feiji and soon Marshal Yi caught on.
He slowly paced from left to right before saying, “The prime ministers.... the prime ministers are vulnerable now because we deployed most of our skilled personnel here...”
“And?” said Zi Feiji urging him on to continue.
“When I relinquish military power it will go to them,” he said his expression turning grim before he continued, “I will be blamed for the death of all the prime ministers and I will be executed. My son.... they will still kill my son.”
His voice grew lower and lower as he spoke the latter sentence. These were only speculations but Zi Feiji was more than certain that this was the plan of the hand that was playing cards behind the curtain.
As though proving his point an emergency alert came in concerning prime minister Ikeda. Someone had tried to kill him but because Marshal Yi had people watching him like a hawk they managed to stop the attack. He couldn’t say the same though for the other prime ministers.
