Chapter 13
The White Creature And The Scripture of Bai (3)
“I’m not scared of him! I just hate him!” the white creature grumbled.
“Little Ye, that man is a practitioner of The Nine Suns while you are of the Shadows and Infinite Origins. He tasted your blood today…Our blood! You must believe me, he will devour us!” the creature continued its elaboration in earnest. It moved to Bai Ye’s jawline and growled to emphasize the devourment.
Bai Ye chuckled at the creature’s over-the-top explanation and decided to move the conversation along. “Alright. Tell me more about the Scripture of Bai then.”
“Oh! Close your eyes, I’ll show you the incantation,” the creature said before climbing up onto Bai Ye’s head.
Bai Ye let her eyes fall shut. A moment later, she felt a gentle wave that pushed against her mind.
A string of unrecognizable characters swirled in her head. Despite not understanding it, the gibberish seared into her mind. The memory implant took her by surprise.
The Scripture of Bai was not what she imagined. She did not expect to have the furry creature as a companion either.
According to the first chapter of the Scripture of Bai, Sensations, the first skill Bai Ye would gain from having accomplished her training would be—
“Enhanced sensation!” Bai Ye cried out excitedly.
The skill would allow her to communicate with inanimate objects in the world. It was a very useful skill to have!
For example, she could spiritually communicate with a bench and look into any recent happenings that involved the object.
If the bench was involved in a murder, she would have the chance to see the murderer.
That was not all!
The most important aspect of this skill was—
“Elixirs are highly-coveted in our world and with this skill, I’d be able to speak to the plants in the wild and hunt down the rare ingredients!” Bai Ye said enthusiastically.
She recalled how her grandfather once sold a handful of rare pickings from the mountains for a good amount of money. Moreover…
“Combined with my apothecary skills, I will be able to make some useful potions, poisonous ones, life-saving ones…” A smile stretched across her face as she thought of the prospects.
The world always seemed strange and unfamiliar to Bai Ye. She often felt like a weakling but not anymore. Once she completed the first chapter of training from the Scripture of Bai, she would be someone of worth.
Even if she encountered the mysterious man, she would have the confidence to take him down. She just had to find a strong poison.
Qing Xuantian would be child’s play even if he had 100 soldiers by his side.
“Great!” Bai Ye’s eyes crinkled in unfettered happiness. Her irises flashed a hint of green.
The afternoon passed by as Bai Ye delved into the Scripture of Bai.
A growling sound was heard as her stomach made its emptiness known. She calmed her mind and dispelled the green aura that surrounded her body.
The white, fluffy creature who was silent throughout her training then said, “You’re amazing! You caught on so quick!”
The creature’s voice sounded significantly weaker than it did before.
