Leon examined his status page with happiness. The past week had been very fruitful. He and his little army of mobs had grown rapidly. Although the additional factor known as Elena became involved, Leon did not mind it at all. She was basically eye candy, and she was also decently skilled on top of that.

(A/N: I legit forgot how I used to calculate Leon's HP and Mana, but luckily, I recalled it lol.)

They killed a few more millipedes, and finally, Elena exclaimed, "I'm done! Level 100!" She was very happy.

"Good. Now, we can move a bit faster." Leon was happy too. Suddenly, the pace of their movement shot up, and they began mowing down monsters at an even faster rate. Leon was at the head of the group, and just a single slash of his sword was enough for him to bring down even the toughest of the Ghost Millipede Soldiers. He gave off the impression of an unstoppable force of nature to Elena, a feeling that she had only gleaned from her father whenever she watched him train.

[Level 89 Ghost Millipede Soldier killed.]

[Level 99 Ghost Millipede Soldier killed. You have leveled up!]

[Level 74 Ghost Millipede killed.]

[Level 82 Ghost Millipede Soldier killed.]

Leon mowed through all the obstacles that tried to obstruct his path without mercy. His sword and the path they followed was soon covered with purple blood, and the lifeless bodies of all that stood in their way.

[Level 100 Ghost Millipede Soldier killed. You have leveled up!]

Leon was watching his status as he fought. He noticed the moment that he bumped into the last level, and grinned mentally. His jaw was still too stiff to grin the way he wanted to. If he tried, he would look very monstrous.

"This way." After killing the last of the latest wave of millipedes, they branched through one of the tunnels that Nedra had pointed out. There were no Ghost Millipedes here, as they mostly focused their presence around their breeding chamber, so the trip was smooth. Before long, in just a few minutes, the group arrived before the pitch black pit that led down to the Obsidian Pool.

"Wow, I can't even see the bottom." Elena commented.

"Of course you can't. If you fall, then you will most likely die." Leon laughed and directed his summons to Elena. "Hold on to them as they climb down. We can't leave you up here, or you will die." He told her.

Elena gulped audibly as she contemplated. "Can't I go back to the cathedral?" She asked. Leon held his chin in thought for a moment.

"That actually sounds like a good idea. Let us head back and drop you off before we come back." He agreed and turned around.

This time, after they had reduced the number of millipedes prowling in the tunnels, and more had yet to take their place, it only took less than fifteen minutes for them to return to the cathedral and drop off Elena.

By the time they got back, the tunnels were once again crawling with a large amount of millipedes. Once again, they got to killing their way through the masses of millipedes. This time, a couple of Royal Ghost Millipedes were in charge of the lesser millipedes. The moment Leon set his eyes on them, an interesting idea popped into his mind.

Screeee!

The Royal Millipedes screeched angrily when they saw Leon approaching. Nedra was right behind him, as the Undead Ghost Millipedes were dealing with the other millipedes in the tunnel with the help of Kaladin.

The two large, black millipedes rushed forward, their foremost legs primed like sharp needles to dig into the flesh of their prey. Unfortunately for them, Leon had no flesh. Just hardy, black bones.

With a practiced movement of his arm, Leon sheered off the front legs of one of the Royal Millipedes, before whirling around to its side and plunging his sword into its head. The vitality of Royal Millipedes was much higher than the Soldier and normal variants. Thanks to that vitality, it took quite a few seconds for the movements of the Royal Millipede to even begin to slow down.

The second Royal Millipede did not slow down even when it saw its kin get skewered by Leon's sword. It climbed over the large body of the immobilized Royal Millipede in order to get Leon.

Leon's Agility and Dexterity stats had come a long way since when he had first been reborn here. Even though the rate at which his stats climbed up by performing certain actions had slowed down as of late, they was still much higher than before! Not even the rigidity of his black bones could stop him from fluidly maneuvering through the cramped space of the tunnel to dodge the lunge of the Royal Millipede, while also pulling out his sword from the other one at the same time and slashing off the two extending mandibles of the second millipede.

Over his time spent hunting Ghost Millipedes, Leon had noticed that their mandibles were particularly sensitive, but he had never bothered to really exploit that small aspect. Until now.

The moment the mandibles of the millipede were sliced off, it reeled back in pain, screeching and shaking. It began slamming its body all over the place in the tunnel, sending pebbles flying.

Leon leapt forward to slash off its head, utilizing his superior strength to drive his blade through the small gaps in between the segments of its body. Like its dead kin, it struggled a bit more, but its death came faster, as its head was cut off from its body.

When it had died, and Leon had gotten the notifications, he was elated. It was time to perform the next step of his plan.
