The Bodyguard System

Chapter 376 Secrets Behind Mutants?

Jaden and John did not really know what happened after they had left. Nonetheless, the two of them went ahead, and arrived at the airport.

And when they got there, they found that Oliver and the others were already waiting for them. They had taken quite a while to arrive, considering that they had been intercepted, and they were not even driving at high speed.

"What took you guys so long? We have been waiting for almost 30 minutes. The flight is going to be in the next 30 minutes, and people have already begun the boarding process." Oliver asked as he looked at Jaden and John who had just arrived.

Jaden could not help but look at John from the corner of his eyes. From the way that Oliver was speaking, it was as if he was already expecting that Jaden was going with them to the central province.

It seemed that John had the confidence that he was going to be able to convince Jaden to go to the central province. Well, he did not even need to do that, considering that Jaden had his own plans of going to the central province.

It was just that It was going to be preponed. He had initially planned that after 3 months were up, he would leave his role as a bodyguard for John, and head towards the central province.

In the capital city, he would take on a roll of a bodyguard, while investigating about the whereabouts of his parents laboratory. He had to get to that laboratory before dealing with the Smith and the Raven mercenary group.

"Something came up. But anyway, we are here on time, and we can just go ahead and head to the central province. What city are we going to?" John responded as he shrugged, before asking.

Oliver looked at him, before gazing towards the other members of the Eagle team. At this moment, each and every member of the Eagle team already understood what they were going to go through the moment that they reached the central province.

And due to that, they all had complex emotions in their eyes. They understood that this might be the last time that they were going to see their family members and friends, but they had all decided to go through it anyway.

This was just how dedicated they were, willing to sacrifice their lives. They were soldiers after all, despite being members of a special unit.

The group then headed towards the gate that they were supposed to take, before finally boarding the plane. John had given Jaden the ticket that they had already booked for him, and they were sitting next to each other.

Basically put, the entire Eagle team had boarded the same plane, and they were in the same row of chairs on the plane.

The plane took off, with every member of the Eagle team having their own thoughts. As for Jaden, he was thinking of a method of making sure that John did not go through this procedure.

It was not as If it was mandatory for them, but instead, this was just something that they had decided to go through. And due to that reason, Jaden believed that as long as he managed to prevent John from going through this, nobody was going to blame him later on, other than John himself.

There was a great risk that was involved in this, and if John ended up dying, then things would get more complicated for Jaden. How was he going to be a bodyguard without a client to protect?n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

That was something that Jaden was not going to allow. If it had been but 3 months had already gone by, then he would have not intervened in something like this. But this time, as selfish as it might be, he had to do this.

It was just that he had not yet come up with a plan that he was going to use in order to stop John from going through the procedure of the mutation. There was just too much danger in this thing.

The journey to the central province was going to take several hours. That was just an indication of how big this nation was. It was going to take at least 3 hours for them to arrive there.

Well, maybe the reason behind that was simply because they would need to land in another city, before finally taking the plane that was going to lead to their destination. And after landing, they would obviously take several minutes, before boarding the plane that would take them to the final destination.

During the break, Jaden called John to the side. He tried convincing John not to go through this procedure.

"You already know about the fact that the probability of death is just too high. This is just like a death sentence. You can decide to wait for a little while, then, when they have improved the process of the mutation, and the success rate has been improved to at least 90%, then you can go through the procedure." Jaden stated.

John on the other hand was left completely speechless. He could not understand Jaden at all. Currently, Jaden was a mutant. As for the metal that he had used to become a mutant, it was obviously the same as the other mutants that were available.

It was just that It was not understandable as to why there were already mutants, but the government would still carrying out research on how to convert normal humans into mutants.

From the way that Jaden was speaking, it seemed that there was a secret, a reason behind why there was a group of mutants that already existed, but the method of converting people into mutants did not.

"Are you trying to tell me something? Or is there a method of safely becoming a mutant? If it really exists, why don't you hand it over to the government?

You will be heavily rewarded, and other than that, you will be saving our country. The mercenaries already possess several mutants, and they are also researching about mutants. If they succeed ahead of the government, this country is going to be extremely chaotic.

The government will be overturned, and this country will be ruled by the mercenaries. And I can promise you one thing, the leadership under the mercenaries is something that nobody would ever want." John stated as he looked at Jaden.

When he heard that, Jaden was left speechless momentarily. Well, to say the truth, there was actually a method that could be used in order to convert a normal human being into a mutant without much danger.

Of course, that was something that was related to the awakening pill. But, it was not as if he could just hand over the awakening pill, considering that he did not even have one on himself at the moment.

Additionally, the moment that he produced the awakening pill, the government would obviously want the method of production of the pill. Jaden had only received the pill from the system as a reward.

How was he supposed to know how to create that pill? It was impossible for the time being, unless he received the method of creation of the pill from the system.

But if he did not receive it, the government would obviously put a lot of pressure on him. And at that time, there was a great risk of the system being exposed, which was something that was going to be even more dangerous than revealing the awakening pill.

"There is no secret about being a mutant. But, the method that is currently going to be used by the government is something that is extremely dangerous, according to the statistics that have been revealed.

As your bodyguard, I obviously care about your safety. That is the reason why I'm trying to convince you not to go through this. If you like, whom am I supposed to be protecting?" Jaden simply responded as he shook his head.

John looked at Jaden, believing that Jaden was obviously hiding something. Why did he not reveal how he had become a mutant?

But when he thought much about it, he suddenly realized something. The government had several mutants, and why was it that none of the mutants had revealed to the government the way that they had become mutants?

It was clear that those that have joined the government had the country in their minds. But in order to make sure that the country was even more safe, it would be better to have many more mutants, so that they could deal with the mercenaries.

But until now, the government was still going on with its own research, trying to find out a method of creating mutants. Since that was the case, it seemed that there really was no secret about being mutants.

"Sigh! I have already made a decision. Believe me, I thought about this for quite a long time, before finally deciding on this. Currently, it can be said that without you, I am in great danger. I am being targeted by an entire mercenary group, which is difficult to deal with than I had anticipated.

That implies that if you leave one day, I will have no one to protect me anymore. It is not that easy to be able to get a mutant to become your bodyguard. So of course, with an ordinary bodyguard, there is a great possibility that I'm going to die.

Instead of dying in the hands of those mercenaries, I better die trying to become a mutant. Because the moment that I become a mutant, I will be able to personally deal with the Bloodhound mercenary group.

But other than that, I will be strong enough to be able to help my nation. I am a soldier, and I took a vow to protect this nation with my life." John simply shook his head as he said those words.
