Chapter 2435 Interceptions
2435 Interceptions
To say that the Martial Artists in the battlefield were shocked was yet again an understatement. No language possessed the vocabulary that was able to experience the calamitous emotional turmoil that ravaged within their hearts.
First, everybody thought Rui was going to win as he dominated Ieyasu and shattered his final defenses.
Endless despair crushed the alliance Martial Artists while the Kandrian Martial Artists rejoiced with ecstasy.
Then, in the final moment, Ieyasu seized victory.
Somehow.
Their psyches shook as both sides experienced a radical shift from despair to joy and from joy to despair.
And then, instead of landing the killing blow, Ieyasu instead reached for the emergency teleportation artifact that Rui had on him at all times, and used it to teleport himself to the Kandrian Empire.
To say they were shell-shocked was an understatement.
It was simply too much. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Not even the Harbinger could have inflicted such a devastating shock to their psyches. She herself stood there like a Medusa victim, unable to even parse what had happened.
And then realization struck her like a bolt of lightning.
Her eyes widened as she recalled his words.
Your death would be unconducive to my objectives.
Until this very moment, she had no idea what he could have possibly meant.
In what world was the death of an absolute enemy unconducive to what objectives?
She couldn't even begin to unravel what his true objectives could be.
Yet, now she gained perhaps a spark of understanding.
She was the first to break out of the spell of paralysis that afflicted all of them.
Her gaze turned to the unconscious Rui as her drive and determination soared.
WHOOSH!
She shot off towards him, gaining just the faintest bit of a head start. And in that moment, it broke the others out of their stupors.
The Kandrian Martial Artists hadn't the faintest of ideas of what was happening.
They had no clue whether this was part of the plan of the enemy. They had no clue whether this was something spontaneous. They had no clue what the hell was going on. But they knew that they couldn't allow Rui to die.
And allowing him to lay there with no medical assistance was doing just that.
The alliance Martial Artists leaped into action, yet they were unable to gain the clarity that the Kandrian Empire Martial Artists.
The entire plan was centered around Tokugawa Ieyasu.
They hadn't even the faintest idea as to what was happening.
Was this a secret plan that Prime Minister Edward had put into action?
Maybe Tokugawa Ieyasu was armed with some unheard-of portable Sage-level weapon that he would discharge inside the Kandrian Empire and destroy it once and for all?
Maybe…
"No." Sage Shinken gritted his teeth as he entered denial mode. "He would never betray us! KILL RUI QUARRIER!!!"
RUMBLE!!!!!
The battle reignited with even greater power and destruction.
Sages unleashed their power and Martial Art without even the slightest bit of hesitation as hundreds of Martial Masters shot forward at speeds that beggared the imagination. An avalanche of unfathomable collective power surged and converged upon a single point.
A single man.
And one of them arrived sooner than the others.
CLASP!
Sage Sera grabbed the dying Void Prince and carted him away at top speed.
Yet, no sooner did she so much as touch him, the world mourned in despair.
RUMBLE!!!!!
It mourned in despair as the fury of twenty-four Martial Sages converged upon her.
Had she been alone, she would have been erased under the sheer might of such raw power.
Yet, she wasn't alone.
BOOOOOOOOM BOOOOOOOOOM BOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!
The Martial Sages of the Kandrian Empire intercepted each and every of the apocalyptic onslaughts that had been unleashed upon her and the precious Void Prince that she carried in her arms.
"KILL HIM!!!!!" Sage Shinken's eyes were blood red with bloodlust as Sage Knight Vermillion leaped at the young Martial Sage at blinding speeds.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
They gritted their teeth as what appeared to be the very manifestation of the concept of destruction erupted against them, refusing to give them any leeway.
"You maggots are going nowhere."
The two peak Sages stiffened as the sheer depths of the endless malice in the Devil's voice sent chills across their skin.
They exchanged brief glances as their grim gaze returned to Sage Damian.
Once upon a time, they were barely his equal.
Now, however, it became exceedingly clear that he had surpassed them significantly in just the span of four years. It was undoubtedly because of the resources of the Kandrian Empire. With fourteen months for every month, the gushing influx of powerful resources that could empower Sages, and then there were the significant upgrades to his Body bestowed upon him from the Divine Doctor.
With those three and his own seemingly endless drive, he had opened the gap between them, charting new territory within the Sage Realm.
However, while they knew that they couldn't defeat him by themselves,. Tthey were certain that they could overcome him together.
And thus, the three most powerful Martial Sages of East Panama blasted into battle, creating a vortex of power so great that it threatened to swallow everybody.
Sage Sera narrowed her eyes as she raced away from the battle.
She knew, however, that she couldn't be the one to take Rui away.
She was easily the weakest Sage on the battlefield, on top of that, she was not specialized for defense at all. And she needed to intercept the other Sages who she would have had to fight off. All Sages were needed to keep other Sages in check, it was the most important task they had.
She was better off handing him.
She needed to hand him off to somebody else, somebody who could be trusted to do everything in his or her power to take Rui away from the battlefield and feed him a potion in time.
And she had already made up her mind.
"Keep him safe, Kane."
CLASP
She passed off the uconscious Void Prince to his best friend who nodded with fierce determination.
WHOOSH
He ran away from the battlefield at speeds exceeding that of lightning as his Fulminata Godspeed left behind a trail of electric discharge.
