Chapter 152 Training Arc • 1
Training as an Awakened Player in Erothyria was vastly different compared to other fantasy games and worlds.
No matter how they evolve past it, an Awakened Player's power is always tied down to the act of sex they had on their Coming of Age.
People usually seem to forget that Erothyria is as much a world of desire as it is a world of magic. These two concepts are intertwined, and they are intertwined because the power of Divinity comes from the Divine God of Desire and sex himself, Eros.
It's not out of the ordinary or completely far from sense to have his people perform acts of sex — the very thing that he rules over, the very thing that gives him glory — in order for them to be willing to gain his powers.
Sex and lust, engaging in these activities, brings Eros glory, and in turn, makes him bless the engagers with more power.
This is why the Coming of Age ritual was important. In order to unlock the God's powers, one must perform his sexual rituals. And Eros valued the act of sex, watching a virgin shatter their innocence, that if one dared do it before their Coming of Age, he refused to give them powers.
Which led to those being possible of an Awakening ending up not being Awakened.
Desire and Magic were combined to form the essence of Divinity, which in turn was the essence of Erothyria.
It was a sex game after all. There should not be any surprises.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
More on this, it meant that no matter the amount of training and cultivation exercises one indulged in, in the end, they also needed to engage in sex in order to grow more as an Awakened.
Hardcore sex + Hardcore training = Very powerful Awakened.
This was a win-win for Aeric, because not only could he grow in power by sleeping with women, but he could also gain their Skills.
Training was important to level up, but so was fucking.
On the subject of training, the afternoon sun shone bright on every detail of the vast training expanse.
Aeric stood at its center, his bare feet touching the enchanted soil. He rolled ropes and ropes of white bandage around his arm as Alzera watched him, then he exhaled slowly, steeling himself for what was to come.
When he was done, she strode forward, holding her gleaming sword and appearing a bit more steeled than she was when her eyes first reunited with Aeric's face.
"People train for many reasons, Prince Aeric," Alzera began, her voice firm yet instructive, "You train so you can slay beasts. The beasts that come through the Wave Gates with the Snake Queen, or the beasts in Dungeons promising you valuable beast cores,... or the beast in your Awakened opponent. The one that will strike you down if you lose your guard."
She pointed her sword at him. "Whatever beast it is, you must master the basics, Prince Aeric. It's not about strength or speed — it's about precision, timing, and control. Without those, you'll be nothing more than a corpse with a blade."
Aeric nodded, readiness glinting in his eyes. "I'm ready to learn."
"Confident." Alzera arched an eyebrow. "Confidence is good, Prince Aeric. Overconfidence, however, will get you killed." She stepped closer, moving the tip of her sword from his chest to his neck. "Today, we'll see if you can back up that drive in you with skill."
They began with the fundamentals of the blade.
Starting with the basics, Alzera walked him through the proper way to hold a sword, correcting his grip by placing her hand over his.
"Your thumb here," she said. "Don't clutch it like it's a club. Relax. The sword should feel like an extension of your arm."
Aeric adjusted his grip, nodding. "Like this?"
"Better," she said, stepping back. "Now, your stance."
She circled him like a hawk, tapping his legs with the flat of her blade. "Feet shoulder-width apart. Your dominant foot slightly forward. Bend your knees. If you're rigid, you're a statue that will be easily toppled."
Aeric shifted his stance, his movements tentative at first. He looked up at her, watching with intrigue. "I didn't know that you were such a wise teacher."
Alzera chuckled, shaking her head. "I can only be as wise as my students, my Prince. If you make me look good on the battlefield then my teachings will surely prove me wise."
They looked at each other and smiled. Then froze. Then moved away from each other and returned to the training.
Aeric practiced with the practice sword she had handed him earlier. "Just… swing it?"
"Not just swing it," she corrected, stepping behind him. She placed her hands over his shoulders, guiding the movement. "Strike with intent. Follow through with your entire body. Imagine the sword cutting through your target, not stopping at the surface."
Ignoring her the feel of her succulent soft breasts on his shoulder, Aeric nodded, his muscles tensing as he swung the blade.
Wheeeeeze!
Slash!
It cut through the air with a satisfying whish.
"Good," Alzera said, nodding approvingly. "Again."
He repeated the motion, each strike gaining more confidence and fluidity. After several swings, he paused, his chest rising and falling with exertion.
"That was very good," Alzera praised him. "You learned the slice attack fast. Let's move to stabs, double slices, triple slices and a shoulder-feign-slice." Discover hidden tales at empire
They danced around the training ground for moments doing that. The stab entailed Aeric, sending one leg forward in a bent pose, the other stretched back, helping extend his fighting arm and stretching the reach of his sword.
That way, the tip of the blade could capture the target's heart flawlessly. If timed perfectly and neatly executed, a block would be very difficult and the opponent's death is certain.
"Well done! You've almost mastered the stab! And in such a short time!"
The double and triple slices were mastery over quick and continuous attacks. After the first slice which he mastered, Alzera taught him to move his weight quickly to his other side of the body and swing the sword again.
That was the double slices.
The triple slices added a fast spin with the blade moving along with the body as though it was a part of it, at the same time pushing forward to slash right through the opponent's body.
Aeric attempted it. And after multiple again, again! Good, do better. Again! He finally got it.
Slice! Slice!
"Ngh!" Spin.... Slice!!!
The dummy fell to the ground. Cut in half.
What do you think?
