Chapter 373 Thor! - Part 5
Chapter 373 Thor! - Part 5
"I-" Romethra's son finally looked terrified of the monster that was standing in front of him with a lightning spear in his hand. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
But time wasn't on his side as he couldn't say another word before his eyes were flashed by extreme light, and then- then there was nothing else to remain. The lightning flash was the last thing that Recarde's brain recorded. Everything above his abdomen vaporized after being directly hit by the lightning spear. The barbarian soldiers standing in front of Recarde were deemed useless as they couldn't react when Thor threw the flashing spear in his hand at them. The spear passed right through the tiny gap between them, hitting their leader's head with pinpoint accuracy. The barbarians standing at the front were left dizzy for a moment because of the intense flash of light and right after that came the high-pitched sound. When they looked back, only saw the remaining part of Recarde's body, including two arms falling to the ground or whatever was left of them. Thor didn't give them any more attention and turned back to open the gates. He didn't have much time to waste on them as the Barbarian army at the border of the Caragan Forest is still a major threat to his army. Thor extended his hand and threw out a punch. Instantly, a destructive power surged out of his fist. Much more powerful than his previous punches.
Struck by such power, the gates flashed briefly for a moment before all the energy in the rune inscription markings went out and the wood splintered. Crack!
Even if the barbarians who just came out of their stupor wanted to stop Thor now, they knew it would for naught as the gates had lost their defensive capabilities and behind them were the barbarian warriors that seemed to have rebelled against the tribe.
If it were just them, they were still confident in stopping them from taking over the tribe settlement until the Tribe Chief and warriors came back but with the addition of this outsider named Thor, no one thinks they could survive one punch from him. Looking back at the remains of Chief's youngest son, their last thoughts of bravery extinguished. No kidding, Barbarians have no less courage fighting stronger foes but they weren't brainless creatures who only knew to pick up weapons and rush straight towards the enemy. If the enemy was way stronger than their ability to resist, the barbarians would still lower their weapons and surrender temporarily. Just like now, when Thor opened the gates and let Karakh and his men in, the barbarians inside just stood at their place without moving.
Karakh brought his men through the gates and the first thing they saw was naturally Thor standing at ease beside the door. Karakh had thought they would have to fight the tribe's warriors once they entered through the gate as he didn't think Thor would be able to solve them alone. But when he saw Thor standing like he was welcoming them inside his home rather than being besieged against the crazy attacks of the tribe to stop him from opening the gates, Karakh was naturally puzzled.
Until Karakh looked behind Thor's shoulder and noticed the tribe warriors looking at Thor's back with fear, and awe. 'What... happened to them? Where is Recarde?' Karakh thought as he looked around and searched for Recarde's figure.
'Don't tell me, he ran away? That can't be possible.' Karakh thought.
Of course, he saw the carnage around the gate. The dead bodies littered behind Thor were enough the show why the warriors were looking at Thor's back with fear and awe but he couldn't see Recarde's figure, not even his dead body.
Norakh was thinking the same as his disciple until Thor spoke first.
"Karakh, can you manage them by yourself? I need to go somewhere." Thor asked. He really needed to go now, because he just got news about the movement in the Barbarian camp from his puppets. They might start attacking at any moment now. He had to go and lead the battle to keep casualties at a minimum. "I- I can if we can kill or capture Recarde Antral. Without him, I'm confident in making them submit to me, albeit temporarily. ", Karakh answered.
"Temporarily?" "Yeah, temporarily because when Romethra comes back, these guys will definitely start to riot." It was Norakh who replied this time.
Barbarians are known for their loyalty to their tribe and their leader. Unless you defeat or kill their leader, the barbarians would never truly bow down their heads to you. as long as Romethra stays alive, Karakh could never hope to rule them, even if his strength is greater than theirs. As for making them change sides with words, it's not impossible but the difficulty of doing this is proportional to the strength of the person. "Good! I've killed him for you. As for Romethra, my human friend will handle him for you." Thor explained.
"You have already killed him? Where is- Oh!" Bergarakh who was standing beside Norakh shouted in surprise but he soon noticed the remains of the body of a barbarian that Thor pointed at soon as he spoke. Norakh and Karakh were surprised that Recarde was already dead and all that remained of him were just his four limbs
"Alright then, I will get going now," Thor said.
"Wait! Thor, you are more suitable than me in leading the tribe. Please think about it once more. A Barbarian with powerful strength such as yours can gain the loyalty of the whole tribe. But if I were the one to lead, the tribe would disintegrate into smaller ones for sure." Karakh said as soon as Thor spoke of leaving.
Even though Karakh didn't know much about his background, it didn't stop him from asking Thor to lead the tribe as its new chieftain. The Barbarians are used to following the most powerful barbarian.
Because the strength of the leader alone decided whether the tribe can survive for a long time and occupy a resource-rich area inside the Caragan forest. If there is no powerful person inside the tribe, then it won't be long before a strong Demon Beast destroys their tribe or another tribe comes to their door to kick them out.
