The Prodigies War

Chapter 1840: Farmer’s Three Strikes

Chapter 1840: Farmer’s Three Strikes

“How would you like to die?”

The question rumbled like thunder in everyone’s heart, making them incredibly shocked as they were unable to believe it.

These were the first words uttered by the middle-aged man, who looked like a farmer that worked under the sun all day, since his arrival. His voice was bland and dull with no assertion to speak of.

In contrast, the content was staggeringly brusque and absurd.

The cloth-robed old man was a mighty Emperor renowned in the entire Ancient Nebula Road with the title Sword Emperor Brave Gale. He had risen to fame thirty thousand years ago as an adept in his dao, carving the aura of his sword onto history and allowing it to shine for eternity.

Meanwhile, Old Monk Dukong was an Emperor Buddha Master of Earth Treasury Realm, cultivating the Light and Dark Zen Bodies that let him turn into two Emperor experts!

Under normal circumstances, who dared to disrespect them?

To their surprise, an ordinary middle-aged man was doing exactly that using his words!

Asking two Emperors how they wanted to die?

Simply insane!

Even the hemp-clothed youth gasped and kept screaming in his head. Oh my sweet god! Even my old man wouldn’t dare be so overbearing if he was here!

The old woman’s eyes swirled emotionally as she was also baffled.

“Hahaha.”

The cloth-robed old man laughed up at the sky. His sleeves flapped, and his hair and beard flew as his aura swept out in all directions. In this moment, the might of Sword Emperor Brave Gale was displayed in its entirety.

“How many years has it been since someone last treated me like this? Have I been in seclusion for so long that people have come to underestimate me to such a degree?”

The cloth-robed old man’s eyes darkened, looking like a deity as his matchless sword intent spread and covered the starry sky above like a tsunami.

“Underestimate?” The farmer seemed to ponder a little and then shook his head, “You are wrong, I never underestimate people. But…it is impossible for me to rate you highly.”

The cloth-robed old man’s smile quickly faded. “Is that so?”

The farmer replied earnestly, “Yes.”

Blue veins popped up on the cloth-robed old man’s forehead, and his chest felt stuffy. The farmer seriously didn’t look like he was mocking him as he was too earnest, but it didn’t make the old man feel any less upset.

One couldn’t say that the farmer had a bad attitude as he wasn’t showy or arrogant at all. His words were dull and calm, and his demeanor was very serious. But all this only made his responses all the more infuriating.

“No need for nonsense. We shall let our strength decide!”

Old Monk Dukong suddenly attacked. The Light Zen body started releasing a great radiance while the Dark Zen body was bathed in black Buddhist light.

Boom!

Buddhist chants rumbled between heaven and earth, sending the air into chaos.

How terrifying was it when an Emperor struck?

In this instant, Wuming and Jintian Xuanyue only felt as though they had become a feather as they were moved out of the warzone, unable to struggle at all.

In the middle of the field, two towering Buddhas, one black and one white, had appeared. They crowded out the space and seemed to want to break the sky as Buddhist chants flowed out from their mouths.

“Doh!”

Amidst echoing Zen sounds, the Whirlwind Ship that was as huge as a continent hovering in the void suddenly stood still. The stars in the vicinity all start to shake violently.

“Doh!”

In surging Buddhist chants, the air exploded. And then, Dark Dukong raised his hand and punched out. From his first, dao light flowed out like a waterfall of stars.

Meanwhile, Light Dukong charged out wielding a monk’s staff.

The world turned upside down, and space collapsed in this moment when the true might of Emperor experts was demonstrated in reality!

“I just wanted you to choose your preferred way to die, not destroy this place.” The farmer frowned, his voice heavy.

No one saw him make a move, but ancient trees suddenly sprouted and took root in the void. Their verdant branches extended far all around and diffused billions of dao light.

In the blink of an eye, Whirlwind Ship was blotted out by the trees, and so were the stars around by the branches and leaves.

Looking from afar, it was as though an ancient forest had suddenly appeared in space, and every leaf in it was bigger than a star!

Immediately following, the farmer stepped forward and threw three punches in a split second!

Kaboom!

In the resulting earth-shattering collision, Dark Dukong trembled as his black aura that had filled the atmosphere erratically dispersed.

Coughing up blood, he scrunched his brows in shock.

The farmer’s first punch had swept at him like an obliterating force and wounded him.

Clang!

Under the second punch, Light Dukong’s staff wailed as cracks appeared on it.

Meanwhile, the Zen body wielding it took the brunt of this punch and repeatedly fell back. With every step retreated, his brilliant Buddhist aura collapsed a little.

At the ninth step, it had dimmed to the point that his face showed a dark-blue sheen.

This second punch had been like an unstoppable tsunami that destroyed everything!

Boom!

When the third punch was delivered, both Dukongs paled in unison. Without hesitation, they gathered and counterattacked side by side using their respective divine abilities.

“Glorious Dragon-Elephant Seal!”

“Tenebrous Hell Suppressor Law!”

In an instant, an immortal ancient elephant appeared. As it tread the galaxy, stars shattered under its feet, and its boundless sacred light whistled around the void.

In the same breath, the phenomenon of a black lotus blooming above a blood-red hell manifested. From the flower stamen, billions of Buddhist light shot out!

Had it not been for the farmer who had wrapped this space in his defensive power, it was no exaggeration to say that the monk’s Emperor power would have plunged the region and the void beyond into destruction, causing all things within and around to perish.

Despite all that, Old Monk Dukong still couldn’t block the third punch.

Boom!

The ancient elephant was turned into ashes.

The black lotus withered at once along with the scarlet hell under it.

The force of the punch ruthlessly suppressed the two Dukongs to the ground, causing Guest Welcome Mountain to quake.

Whoosh~

The two Zen bodies swiftly merged as they were obviously unable to hold on any longer. As a result, Dukong’s old face was as pale and bleak as snow while he was tightly pressed against the ground, powerless to break free.

The winner was decided with only three punches!

When dust settled, the entire audience had frozen in shock.

The Whirlwind Ship covered by the ancient forest hadn’t suffered any damage. Even Guest Welcome Mountain was perfectly intact.

Emperor Buddha Master Dukong was just the opposite as the three punches had nailed him dead on the ground!

The whole process had taken only moments.

From beginning to end, the farmer had only thrown three punches!

How terrifying was an Emperor?

In the eyes of cultivators, that was an omnipotent existence who could shake heavens and rule worlds!

Furthermore, Old Monk Dukong was not just any ordinary Emperor. Having mastered the Light and Dark Zen Bodies, he could count as two Emperors in battle.

Even so, he had still lost.

Utterly defeated!

Even Lin Xun’s eyes had gone wide as he was shaken to his core.

Strictly speaking, he should be unable to see into the details of a battle of this level at all, nor could he perceive the supreme mysteries contained in the power of Emperors.

In fact, if it hadn’t been for the farmer protecting him, he would have been obliterated on the spot by the old monk’s power as soon as the battle had started.

Despite the gap in cultivation, Lin Xun still knew full well it took much more than an ordinary Emperor to be able to easily suppress a character like Old Monk Dukong!

Wuming’s group was shaking like a leaf, and they were completely rooted there as fear had taken over them.

Buddha Master Dukong, in their eyes, was like an invincible supreme existence. Yet, he had been defeated by just three punches!

Looking just as pale as them, Jintian Xuanyue was in a daze. The fight had impacted her too deeply.

The hemp-clothed youth rubbed his eyes and muttered in a stupor, “Granny, is my old dad as fierce as him?”

For once, the old woman didn’t know what to say.

She also couldn’t calm down from the rampaging shock in her heart.

As someone who was also an Emperor, she understood better than all the juniors here how terrifying the power of this stage was. When two Emperors faced off, it was almost impossible for any of them to kill the other unless the gap in strength was astounding enough.

However, the reality was that Dukong had just been dominated by three punches!

Didn’t this mean…that the farmer wasn’t just astoundingly stronger, but was instead completely and entirely above Dukong?

“As a Buddhist cultivator, you have no compassion when you act, disregarding the safety and security of the living beings in the surrounding environment. No wonder your Earth Treasury Realm descendants can only stay hidden in the Underworld.”

The farmer’s voice was ever dull and flat, and he still looked like an average earnest man, but no one would ever look at him in the same way as before!

“Who are you? Why is it that I have never heard of an Emperor like you on the Ancient Nebula Road?” asked Old Monk Dukong hoarsely as he lay on the ground.

“Me?” The man thought seriously and answered, “I farm.”

“Puh!” Old Monk Dukong was so angry that he spat out blood. A farmer? How can a farmer have this kind of battle prowess?

Everyone else was dumbfounded.

How can someone who defeated an Emperor with just three punches be a simple farmer?

Lin Xun, on the other hand, believed it.

After all, his Ninth Senior Brother Ge Yupu had only been a slow-witted woodcutter living in the mountains before he had set foot on the path of cultivation.

Despite such a humble background, he had been able to create an art of his own – Grand Dao Yellow Court Classic. During the Dao War of Emperors, he had also beaten up the founder of the Imperial Kong Clan, Demon-Beast Emperor Dutian, to the point the latter wouldn’t dare to raise his head!

So which senior brother is this? Lin Xun’s thoughts flew.

“I never lie.” As if sensing the crowd’s disbelief, the farmer seriously explained, “It’s only that in the past, I planted crops, while now, I plant some great dao things.”

The crowd couldn’t be more bewildered after hearing that. It just sounded ridiculous and weird.

Even a farmer can step into the most supreme stage of all – the Emperor Stage?

Who would believe that?!

Old Monk Dukong on the ground only felt another clog rapidly forming in his chest. He spat out another mouthful of blood, thinking that the farmer was clearly humiliating him!

Meanwhile, Lin Xun could only lament in his heart about how honest this senior brother of his was…

It was just that the truth that came from an honest man often easily hurt people’s egos.

In the field, only the cloth-robed old man remained silent. His expression flickered dimly as he had not uttered a word.

He didn’t act either. Having witnessed the tragic outcome of Old Monk Dukong, he didn’t dare to make a rash move again.

For a while, the situation was a deadlock.

The farmer also seemed to have forgotten about the cloth-robed old man. He turned to Dukong on the ground and asked again, “How would you like to die?”

The old monk took a deep breath and said hoarsely, “If you kill me, my Earth Treasury Realm will be in turmoil. If you could let me go this once, Fellow Daoist, then I swear that Earth Treasury Realm will never be an enemy of you two again.”

This was an Emperor expert begging for mercy!

How could anyone present ever have seen such a scene? Their hearts all tumbled. So even an Emperor can be scared of death just like everyone else?

“No can do.” The farmer shook his head, his expression unperturbed and unquestionable.

Old Monk Dukong’s heart sank.

Everyone else tensed up, their hearts hanging in their throats.

“If this is your decision, then you both will face your doom sooner or later!” Dukong’s voice cracked.

Even ants wanted to drag out their humble existence, let alone a cultivator who had overcome countless hardships to be certified as an Emperor.

The old monk’s voice still echoed when he suddenly burst into countless black streaks that cut through the air and shuttled away in all directions.
