The Strongest Conquest System

Chapter 78 Loki And Thor

78  Loki And Thor

Meanwhile, in the pocket dimension that lay directly above the ocean dimension, two overwhelmingly powerful figures were left dumbfounded.

Thor and Loki had no life left within their contrasting body frames as they stood and stared at the unbelievable sight before them.

"H-He woke up." A flat voice devoid of emotion came out of the smaller figure. His posture was that of someone who had already embraced his guaranteed death. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"Yes." The red giant responded with a voice just as dull.

"What do we do, Loki...?" Thor asked. His eyes were gazing out into the empty void as if he had found something interesting to stare at.

He had completely lost himself.

"I don't know..." His brother replied with a despondent tone, as he was not faring any better.

Loki seemed to be unable to answer any questions asked of him since that mortal had appeared.

The two of them were lost...

They had not an inkling of an idea on how they should handle this predicament.

Their eyes instead focused back on Azmond as they were trying to anticipate what his next moves were going to be, but no matter how much they thought about it. Not a single tangible thought came to mind.

How were they supposed to be expected to predict the actions of an anomaly? They weren't omniscient...

"We just need to wait." A little bit of the shine within Loki's eyes came back as he became a little calmer.

His eye's would still occasionally flicker, and his hands became far sweatier, but he knew that brooding over something that he couldn't change the outcome of would get him nowhere.

However, his brother still needed some time to adjust. He wasn't as quick at adapting to impossible situations as his brother was.

It took him a few minutes to finally calm down. His fiery hair was no longer on edge, either. His overly reactive hair was an odd trait that Thor would sometimes exhibit when he became nervous.

And you could sure as hell bet that he was nervous now. His death would be swift once his superiors found out about the incident that occurred during their shift.

Both he and Loki quickly summoned a seat again, as the ones they had previously taken out had already evaporated from their residual aura. It was a small incident that occurred earlier, when the two of them were going through a midlife crisis.

"Wait, huh..." Thor's gruff-sounding voice echoed out across the pocket dimension.

He may be a big, strong, tough man on the outside, but when it really came down to it and his life was confirmed to be a blowing candle in the wind. A candle that could be snuffed out at any given moment. Well, let's just say that his burly persona goes down by a few notches.

When beings live as long as the two of them have, they begin to value their lives far more than mere mortals would.

They are cultivators as well, after all.

The two of them had spent an uncountable number of years arduously cultivating, and they weren't willing to waste away all their efforts over some lower existence.

Fury began to build inside Thor's heart, as he now had the extreme urge to purge. He wanted to erase the existence of the being that had sentenced them to death.

The killing intent festering inside his heart began to materialize in the outside world. A large, expanding aura of death began to permeate the surroundings as his hair once more stood on end. Like a lion who had grown a fiery red mane of flames.

He was prepared to use everything he had to kill the mortal, no matter the cost.

But before he could, he felt the soft hand of his brother on his shoulder. "Don't even bother, Thor." Loki said in a dispirited tone.

Thor didn't have time to deal with the depressed Loki; he was prepared to whack him out of the way. That was until he heard what his brother said next.

"You know those beings as well as I do, Thor. They will bring that boy back to life, even if we do end up killing him. They wouldn't care one bit that they would have to fight every god in existence to make that happen. That boy would not stay dead for long."

Thor's fury subsided a little when he heard the gloomy words of his brother. But that didn't mean that he wasn't still furious about this entire situation. He knew what Loki knew as well.

He would never forget his previous encounters with those undying beings that supported the cursed book.

Most of the older gods had their own unique encounters with those beings, one way or another. Some of those encounters led to the demise of many gods.

"It is a futile effort, Thor. Just relax a little and accept your fate." Loki's depressed tone turned into one akin to that of a hooligan who had already given up on being a productive member of society.

He fully embraced his cunning and sinister ways as he thought up all the trouble he could get himself into before he was executed.

As Loki's thoughts started swirling in some odd, distorted direction, Thor was still thinking about how to get his revenge on the human mortal. But, no matter what he thought up, he saw no situation that would permanently affect Azmond.

Both of their auras were going in completely opposite directions at the moment. One had a menacing dark red aura that looked like it could consume the very sun itself if it so chose to, while the other figure had a very laid-back, tranquil gold aura. He had an aura that would make anyone assume that he was a person who wanted to flow in the wind with no purpose in sight.

.....

As the two gods sat there contemplating their next actions, a tall man with chiseled features was left stranded in the ocean dimension down below.

Azmond had already gotten everything useful out of the Boundless Restoration Scripture. Now he was just left wandering around the vast dimension, looking for a way out.

"There has to be an exit to this place somewhere, right?" A puzzled expression emerged on his chiseled features as he continued walking at meteoric speeds.

He didn't exactly know where he was going. He just knew that there had to be an exit if there was an entrance.

'Right...?'

He was beginning to question himself.
