Chapter 372
Chapter 372
The Original Purpose [Part 4]
“Nee-sama, where’s the remaining two?”
‘I can’t find it…’ William mumbled.
“See that third one from the right? Two more is hiding behind it.”
Emma pointed at the rainbow raccoons concealed in between the grass’ shadows. Their fur color blended in with the grass, making them difficult to spot unless you look closely.
“Ah… That one… I thought that one had unusually thick whiskers but turned out it only overlapped with the ones behind it!
Oh man, I lost this round.” George facepalmed.
“Huh? George-kun? You can see it?”
“???”
Arthur and the prince were shocked as the distance between the monsters and George in the rear was more than 50 meters.
Normally, people couldn’t even see the whiskers.
And how could someone look at the whiskers while avoiding the eyes? They couldn’t understand how one could pull such a feat.
“Ah! Arthur-sama! And Your Highness too, don’t look at the monsters so much! You will feel strange in the head. Ah, come on, Marion-sama, and you guys too, please follow my example.”
When Arthur and the prince looked up in an attempt to see the monsters, George hurriedly covered the two’s eyes with his palms.
This was why laymen in monster hunting were dangerous.
“M-Marion-sama, those are monsters.”n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
“Calm down, Francesca-sama. We have learned about that monster during the extracurricular lesson, haven’t we?”
“Indeed.”
“We’ve learned about it, right, Caitlyn?”
“Yup, we’ve learned it, Catherine!”
Francesca and the twins nodded to Marion.
“Then, what we should do is?”
“ “ “Close our eyes and don’t move!” ” ”
“Meoww!”
Koumei meowed to praise the young ladies’ answer.
They still remembered the class lecture and Emma’s pointers well.
To quote,
“You might hurt yourself in a panic, influence people who are still calm into panicking, or get in the way of the people trying to defeat the monster, so you will have a higher survival rate if just close your eyes and don’t move.”
…was what Emma said.
“Understood, Your Highness, Arthur-sama? Those who have some confidence in their own abilities are the most dangerous kind of people to have in the hunting ground, okay? The Skyte hunters are experienced in dealing with that monster, so don’t act recklessly on your own accord.”
‘Even if you want to look cool in front of the girls, you will 100% be guaranteed to fail anyway when the opponents are monsters, so don’t even try.’ George warned Arthur and the prince.
“Understood.”
Recalling the bitter memory of the slime battle, Prince Edward shut his eyes obediently.
“Mew!”
(It will be hard for me to protect you if you move rashly, so gather close and keep your eyes shut, meow!) Koumei also added.
Nobody should have understood what Koumei was saying because Emma the interpreter was standing a little further away, but the prince, Arthur, and the young ladies all nodded their heads earnestly.
Cat language was all about the mood and momentum.
“E-Emma-chan? Shouldn’t Emma-chan and William-kun also stand back with the others over there…”
The King voiced his concern while pointing at the young ladies protected by the cat.
“I’m fine! Rather, Your Majesty should stand away, and I will… huh?”
‘For the sake of expanding our monster karuta collection, I want to see the real thing after all…’ Just as Emma was replying to the King, she felt a nudge on her elbow and turned her head.
Nobody’s there.
Only, she heard a whispering voice in her ears.
“Emma-sama… This… for His Majesty…”
It was Hue.
Hue, who had been receiving training in ninjutsu from the ninjas in House Stuart, nudged Emma’s elbow and spoke to her hesitantly while keeping himself hidden.
“Huh? …Oh!”
Emma had completely forgotten why she had come inside the forest in the first place.
“Your Majesty.”
‘Phew, that was close. I almost forgot.’ Emma took the letter from Hue and passed it over to the King.
“…and this is…?”
Emma responded with a smile in this tense situation where they were surrounded by psychic-attacking monsters from the front, while the hunters were slowly closing the distance to avoid eye contact.
“A letter from the Queen!”
“Eh? Now?!”
“Yes! It appears to be an urgent matter, so please read it immediately!”
“Eh? Now?!”
“Yes!”
‘It certainly doesn’t have to be now, right?’ …thought the King.
What do you think?
