Chapter 240: Days Before The Festival [2]
***
The Ranks were quite important as depending on them, various students would get various jobs and duties around the festival.
Not only that but you would be given certain privileges in the festival as well.
Since there had already been a lot of battles and fights in the midterms, there were no required fights for the students this time.
Of course there were various stalls for you where you could fight and earn rewards but that was another matter.
The way the festival went was this.
There were many brands and other people coming from outside the academy to open up various stalls and gigs.
This was the Creator's side.
But the twist here was that they could only open it up. They could not appoint staff or others for the cooking.
This was to be done by students who wanted to participate in those stalls and gigs.
Of course, the creators would test their abilities out first if they wanted to appoint them to the stall.
Then there were the students who would be the customers of such stalls and gigs.
Being a student, you could participate in up to 3 activities.
The list for all the activities had already arrived a month ago and Amon had already chosen his three.
The class activity, however was not included in this 3.
Yes, there had to be a certain stall or gig also opened up by each class for the festival.
The highest ranked student of that class would be responsible for choosing what activity their class would participate in after mutual discussion.
Like Amon had said previously, it was one of the responsibilities of the high ranked people.
The participation in the class activity was mandatory for everyone whereas in other stalls it was still optional.
Of course, the credits obtained from the stall owners to the students would be more in case you participated in everything.
However, in case your class or your stall underperformed, credits would also be taken away from you.
It was basically a risky move. The more you participated, the more you could earn and lose at the same time.
But at the same time, the stall owners and the class representatives were at an even bigger risk as they were responsible for their whole stall or gig.
A small mistake from one classmate would cost the owner as well.
But of course, at the same time, they would also be given more rewards as compared to others.
That was about it for the Cultural Festival.
One last change that Amon could remember however was the New Year Fireworks and Musical Event on the final day.
It wasn't included before but since the festival was going to be held in the last week of December this time, they placed this event on 31st December.
Something that would happen for the first time as often there would be no delays in the festival.
There was one rumor that there would be another event on 1st January for the departure of the festival but nobody knew what it was.
And since it was a rumor, nobody paid much attention or focus to it yet.
Even Amon.
As he thought about all of this, a shout registered in his ears as he was brought out of his daze.
"Earth to AMON!" Ren screamed in his ear, shaking him again and again.
Amon's body shook from the sudden wake up call, shooting up straight.
He looked around with widened eyes before they landed on Ren, who was looking at him with an annoyed look.
"What the fuck were you so lost into that you couldn't even hear my screams?" He asked.
Looking behind him, Amon noticed the whole group staring at him with concern, even Liliana.
The sudden comeback of his some weeks ago brought relief to the group but at the same time also wariness and concern.
He would at often times daze off into the class and suddenly stand up, asking to go to the bathroom.
In a sense, his behavior was erratic and spontaneous, making his friends think that he might be having mental issues.
Or more accurately, only the female friends, excluding Charlotte.
Ren, Michael and Charlotte were at times worried about him asking if something was wrong.
He would still reply that he was fine and they would be forced to give up.
Elizabeth had tried to ask him out a several times and check he was fine but after several refusals, she also gave up.
But rather than just giving up, she suddenly also turned distant and more cold towards him.
Amon couldn't do anything though. He had other matters to care about first than find out what was wrong with her.
Getting back to the present situation, Michael quickly asked him.
"We are going shopping for tomorrow's party, you wanna come?" He asked.
Amon stared silently at them for a few moments, still out of it.
[They are still waiting for you.] Vain quickly brought him out of it again.
'Oh, yeah, yeah.' Amon suddenly shook.
He was about to nod before he suddenly saw something behind the group.
Far off, near the other end wall of the class, there was a transparent silhouette of a woman
with long black hair standing, looking at him.
Amon shuddered inwardly as his eyes widened.
He blinked.
And she was gone.
He looked back at the group.
'Fuck.' He cursed, massaging his head and eyes.
Then, he shook his head, scrapping his plan of a nod previously.
"Nah, I'm sorry. I'll catch up with you guys in an hour or two at the mall but I need to go somewhere right now. Is that fine?" He asked.
Charlotte smiled.
"Yeah, don't worry. It's perfectly fine. You can do what you want and if you feel like joining us, you can come to the mall." She gave him a thumbs up.
Amon offered her a grateful smile.
"Thanks." They couldn't see the look in his eyes behind the black glasses that he had started
to wear when he came back.
Giving them quick goodbyes, Amon quickly separated from them, rushing out of the class, ignoring everything else.
He headed to the bathroom in the building, quickly rushing inside, not looking what gender it
said.
As he opened the door, he was suddenly greeted by a multitude of women standing inside, fixing themselves up in the mirror.
As he entered, their faces turned toward him, before morphing into shock and horror in the
next second.
Multiple screams let out from some of them but Amon ignored them all, heading to one of the
basins.
Taking off his glasses, he stumblingly splashed water onto his face without stopping for a
minute, ignoring some of the womans that rushed out.
Multiple stood there, rooted in their spots with shock and fear etched into their forms.
The large dark circles under his eyes did not help his case.
Staring into his exhausted reflection in the mirror, Amon stretched his dark eyes, water still
dripping down on his face from his hair.
Taking out a few pills from his coat, he stutteringly put them on his hand, swallowing them in
the next second without any water.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
The women and girls looked at him as if he had gone mad.
Looking into his reflection in the mirror again, Amon let out hurried gasps, his eyes nervously
darting around.
Suddenly, he saw the woman from before, standing just an inch behind him.
A fear filled scream let out from his mouth for a second before he quickly smashed his fist into
the mirror,
CRACK!
A sharp piercing sound rang out in the next second as the mirror was broken down into tiny pieces, some of them digging into his skin.
The bathroom was sound-proof so nothing let out, which was also why the screams previously were
useless.
However, all of the girls and women now rushed outside, scared that Amon had actually gone insane.
And they weren't wrong.
Staring down into the broken shards of the mirror, Amon saw his broken reflection.
A hysterical hollow chuckle let out of his lips as his eyes widened.
"Ha, ha, I'm actually going insane."
He smashed his bloody fist into the marble of the basin in the next second with a grit of his teeth.
"FUCK IT!" He screamed.
Looking back up into another mirror, he quickly straightened his clothes up and set his hair.
Putting back his sunglasses, he walked out of the bathroom, crystal coating his fist now to stop the
blood.
But as soon as he walked out, his eyes met two golden ones coming out of the corner, with the previous
girls behind her.
Amelia's eyes widened, as she realized who it was.
In the next second, her eyes instinctively darted to his crystallized fist.
Where...
She saw a few blood stains in the transparent crystal.
