Chapter 51: 51:Setting Off New Company
Three days later…
The office space was already well-groomed. The walls were decorated and didn't need renovations, saving him from spending money on decorations.
Everything had already been prepared by the seller.
Evan stepped into the new office with a tablet in hand. The open layout stretched before him, punctuated by the sleek desks and ergonomic chairs. He scanned the walls and noted their neutral tones which were perfect for fostering focus.
Moving through the space, he observed the meeting rooms which had glass walls, offering privacy without sacrificing openness. As he stared at each room, Evan imagined the sessions and team meetings that would take place within them.
Completing his scan, Evan smiled, pleased with the simplicity and functionality of the new office.
Just then, he heard the footsteps echoing throughout the space and turned around.
"You are here…"
"Evan, you finally remembered that I existed," a voice called from the other side.
"At least I called you. Why didn't you call if you wanted to talk?" Evan chuckled, seeing a neatly dressed Aria pouting with a grievous look.
"I know you are busy, so I didn't want to call and trouble my busy student, "Aria grinned.
"Thanks for your consideration, teacher. Anyway, let's stop, or we will argue until tomorrow," Evan decided to call for a truce knowing that if not, then they might continue their banter till tomorrow.
Aria smiled and nodded.
"So, why did you call here? Do you need some help dealing with the Director?" asked Aria, her voice tinged with worry.
"Not that. I need your help for my company, and you were my first choice. Are you up for it?"
"What company?" Aria shouted in bewilderment.
"If you are talking about that coffee business I am not interested in it," Aria replied.
"No, not that. It's for my IT software startup company."
Aria frowned a bit and then let Evan explain the details.
Evan immediately began explaining about his company and the product in detail.
And so, they continued talking for about half an hour.
But since Aria couldn't believe Evan was bragging about the app, she wanted to take a look at it herself.
Moreover, had he done all of this?
Was this the same student who didn't have a good grasp of the basics?
But before that...
"Why me?" Aria asked, staring straight into Evan's eyes.
Evan didn't evade her gaze and kept his smile.
He looked at his panel and found the affection shooting past a threshold, and had reached 55. The impression had changed to affection which was a really good change.
According to the system, once the impression goes past 40, the person starts to see others as someone who was close to them or someone to whom they can open their heart, the impression would change to affection.
That was also the reason why despite Aunt Celina's impression being so high, there was no affection. She might treat him well but not as someone who she can talk about her problems with.
"Miss Aria...you're a good teacher. More than that, you have excellent skills. I didn't realize it before, but compared to those geezers, your abilities stand out and I need people like you. I am not just talking about talent, I meant about having someone I can trust."
"Though I have just started, I know how treacherous the business world is. One wrong step and you will be drowned in the abyss. That's why I need help from those I can trust. I won't pry into your past, so I hope I can trust you and you can help me as I navigate through this."
Evan spoke with sincerity. He wasn't arrogant enough to think that he could handle the company alone.
His main work involved behind the scenes which was to study, create apps, and develop new technology. All these took too much time, leaving little for the company's affairs.
Aria stiffened slightly at Evan's proposal, surprised by his offer.
After a moment of thought and looking at Evan's sincere expression, she sighed.
"First, I want to take a look at the app. After that, I will decide whether I want to jump in or stay as a teacher."
Smiling, Evan took out his laptop from his bag and showed her the app. He then asked, "Miss Aria why did you return from overseas."
Aria's hand paused and she gave Evan an incredulous look.
"My parents didn't want to move since foreign lands didn't suit them. Secondly, I didn't like their work culture."
Evan raised his brows with a prying look seeing that Aria wasn't speaking anymore and decided to stop and focus on showcasing the app.
When Aria saw what the app could do, the gears in her head started turning like jet engines.
Although she wasn't an app developer, she understood the importance of compression used by many developers all around.
She knew that providing a compression tool that could perform multi-range tasks might become a big thing.
"Is this only for mobile phones?" she asked after a while.
"Nah!"
"Since I don't have servers, I have just released a free version of the app. Soon, I will release a premium version for phones. Meanwhile, we will also create a website and sell Codezipper for computers and programmers."
Evan and Aria discussed this more thoroughly. They needed IT staff and other professionals for suitable departments.
But they couldn't just take anyone.
Evan wanted to leave this trouble to Aria, who refused, saying that it was too messy for her to handle. Though she had some connections and could put up a recruitment notice, she wasn't keen on managing it all.
At that moment, Evan wished that his system could give him some people like those in the sign-in wealth system, but complaining wouldn't help.
Letting it go, the duo went back and forth until Evan finally convinced Aria to take on the load.
She felt a bit of blatant injustice, wondering if Evan just wanted to dump all his work on her, but after discussing the salary, she agreed.
For a generous salary of 15 million rupees [1.5 crores] a year, she won't even hesitate to mop the floor.
"But what is the name of the company?" she asked.
Hearing this, Evan's lips curled upwards.
