Chapter 60: 60:Lack Of Will
After he cut the call, Evan tossed the phone onto the table and slumped on the chair with a heavy expression.
"Haih! Why is life so hard?"
Things were soon going to come to an end, but not in the way he had hoped them to.
Considering all the things the person had done and what he intended to do, Evan knew that all of this was his mercy.
After all, if Evan had been just a weak nobody, the man might have destroyed his entire career to the point that he would have been forced to resort to working on the streets.
So in response, Evan wanted to crush that guy to dust, but all his plans had changed at the last moment.
A few hours ago, he called Abhijeet, saying that he had everything under control and all legal procedures in place. Hearing this, Abhijeet gave him sincere advice.
There were two ways to proceed.
The first was to publish all this, report to the government about tax evasion, and sue that bastard.
The second was to blackmail him and gain an advantage over the guy.
However, if he chose the first option, there would be a fight till the death, which would neither benefit Evan nor could he sustain a death battle with Darpan Biswas.
Surely, Darpan's education enterprise would take a hit, but how many days would that last…? Very soon, everything would be forgotten.
For tax evasion, Darpan would be jailed and fined. For such a big guy, it wasn't much, as these people had many backhand deals. The chances of success are very low.
And since all this involved Raj in one way or the other, who was a chief spokesman of Utkal state and since he also belonged to the ruling party. The ruling party must have taken something of their own as well, so Evan would be going against the state government if he pestered on.
And neither did he have that much influence nor the power to go against them.
Most likely, soon everything would be resolved in Darpan's favor. Not to forget his main wife was the daughter of the Hyatt Conglomerate.
Also, Biswas Enterprise was a private company and hadn't gone public, so bad publicity wouldn't affect the share price to make him lose money.
But meanwhile, what about himself?
Would they let him leave just like that? They wouldn't use legal ways to deal with him, rather they would go straight for the kill and make his death look like a suicide.
And since no problem couldn't be solved with money, Evan, after careful consideration, chose option two.
By doing so, he would obtain a huge sum and also have leverage. He can also tie up Raj and clear problems with his food license.
It would bring Evan many benefits unless Darpan decided to take a hard turn and hire people to kill him. But Evan had already warned him that if he did, then everything would be released including the million-dollar sex tapes, though there weren't any sex tapes, adding more fuel to the fire, won't hurt, would it?
"I also want to do the same with those asshole parents."
The hate in itself didn't seem justifiable for what they had made him suffer.
After the court trial, it was his turn to strike back, but he wasn't able to.
Before he wanted them to suffer, let them burn in agony, and make them cry in misery, but those bastards had suddenly disappeared.
Now, as he was working, he found his hate for them diminishing every day as his status slowly changed.
Secondly, he felt that they weren't worth his time. He could do many things with the time he would waste on finding them.
As for cornering them and asking about his real parents, he felt more disheartened thinking about this. What good would come from knowing about them?
He feared the result.
What if his parents hated him and looked at him as if he was trash?
The system clearly mentioned that his parents were wealthy.
So either they would hate him or just acknowledge him, seeing him doing well in business. By all means, there were chances of them loving him dearly, but that was quite unlikely.
A noble family of status would lower themselves to look at wild spices grown outside. Isn't this a joke?
Expectations would lead to hurt, so it was better to kill them off.
"System, does my decision seem a bit lacklustre and weak-willed? In that novel, the protagonist always goes for the kill until nothing remains, but I seem to falter at the last moment."
"I can fight or even destroy them, but my heart stirs a bit when it comes to killing entirely. Also, who knows what he would do if I pushed him too much? After all, I am not strong enough to fight many people or hire many assassins."
[Host, the truth is you are a bit soft-hearted. A businessman should always be ruthless but should also know how to bend. You just don't have enough experience. Soon, you will encounter a situation that can't be solved and you'll need to step up.]
[So, it's better to harden your heart as much as possible by the time you enter the league of big businessmen.]

Meanwhile, lying in the hospital bed, Jay cast a scowl around the room.
He glared at his mother, Denna and shouted, his voice a mix of pain and anger, "Mother, what the hell is going on? Have the police found anything about the person who hit me?"
Denna's face tightened, her lips curling into a snarl. "Those bastards only know how to eat and puff their bellies. When it comes to work, they know nothing!"
Her voice dripped with contempt. "Useless, pathetic idiots who can't even find a single guy despite all the money we've given."
The nurse, overhearing Denna's tirade, looked distressed and hurriedly left the room, her face flushed with discomfort.
Denna's fury gave way to concern as she approached Jay, her fingers gently brushing his hair. "Does it still hurt?"
Jay winced, tears of frustration and pain threatening to spill from his eyes. "Yeah, it hurts… It hurts so much…"
His voice cracked as he added, "Mom, where is Dad? What's he doing while I'm in such a bad situation?"
Denna's anger flared anew. She snatched her phone from the table and dialed Darpan's number. The phone rang several times before an irritated voice answered.
"Darpan, where the hell are you? Jay is lying in the hospital, and the police are useless!" Denna's voice was sharp with frustration.
Meanwhile, Darpan's voice on the other end was laced with irritation. "Denna, calm down. I'm busy right now. What do you want? Is Jay alright?"
Overhearing the conversation, Jay piped up from his bed, "Dad, have you taken care of Evan? I want you to beat him and if possible kidnap him. I want to lash my anger on him unless I find the culprit."
Darpan's face turned green and twitched after hearing Jay's words.
