The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

"You hid your kid, brother," Long Jie said. "Were you planning a secret life for her too? Out of all the people, you know what it meant to lead a secret life. Are you sure you want the same for Faye?" 

Although Ryuu never complained about his secret life, it didn't mean that it never hurt him. 

"That's Alcina's decision to take," Ryuu replied. "Whatever she chooses for our daughter is acceptable to me as long as they both are safe and sound." 

At the same moment, a waiter came with several dishes that Zhenyi had ordered on the way. He served everyone with food and left soon after. 

"Stay happy with Xiuying," Zhenyi said as she saw both of them enjoying the food. "I'm sure Alcina had her life figured out. And don't worry, I have arranged a perfect Stepdad for Faye. He is handsome, sweet and most of all reliable." 

Ryuu choked on food when he heard what Zhenyi said. She passed him water quickly and patted his back. 

"Eat slowly, Big brother, " Zhenyi innocently said, loading more dishes onto his plate. On the other hand, Long Jie shook his head in utter helplessness. Serves you right, Brother. At least, there is someone who can keep your feet on the ground. 

He knew what his wife was doing. So, he chose to add fuel to the fire.

"Stepdad for Faye?" Long Jie quirked up his brows in confusion. "Are you sure he is reliable?"

"Of course, husband," Zhenyi said with a huge grin. And Ryuu had a premonition that whatever she was going to say next wouldn't be good for his mental and emotional health. "That man loves Alcina a lot. Trust me, when he knows about Faye's existence, he will be more than willing to be a father figure in her life. Ryuu has his life sorted out with Xiuying. Alcina shouldn't suffer because of my brother's fickle heart." Seeing Long Jie nodding at her suggestion she offered him a wide smile before turning her head to Ryuu. "What do you say Ryuu?

Ryuu slapped the chopsticks on the table and clearly said to both of them. "My child will never call another man father. Doesn't matter if I'm alive or dead. She is my daughter, Angel. And she will be mine and Alcina's daughter all her life." 

"Come on, Ryuu, think about Alcina. She can't spend her life single," Zhenyi said with a suggestive tone. "Sam is in love with her--" 

"What do you say Sam?" Ryuu's voice turned scary all of a sudden. "If you are trying to provoke me, Zhenyi, it's not working. Alcina can have anyone in her life. I don't care. But Faye is my daughter. She can only have one father in her life." 

He took a deep breath and calmed him down. His expression turned back to normal and then looked at both of them. "It's your lunch date. Enjoy the time. I'll meet you both soon. Until then, take care of each other. Alright?"

With this said, Ryuu left the room. 

"You shouldn't have provoked him like that," Long Jie said while looking at Ryuu's retiring back. "Trust him this once. I have known him for a very long time. You can never decode his way of thinking. He doesn't think like us. He thinks about the future first and then plans for the the present." 

"Wow, husband you have him all figured out," Zhenyi said with a gasp. 

Long Jie kissed her nose and said, "Why did you do this?"

"Will you believe me if I say it was revenge for hiding my lovely niece from me?" Zhenyi said to him. 

"I won't," Long Jie clearly said to her. "But whatever your intention is I don't need to hear if you won't want to tell me. I'm happy that he is fine. I'm even more glad that he is your brother." 

Zhenyi just smiled at him.

Outside. 

Ryuu leaned against the car and lit up a cigarette. His heart was running inside his ribcage at a high speed. He was now breathless. His chest was hurting. He could not pinpoint why it was hurting now. 

Taking a few deep breaths, he was unable to calm himself. Pulling out the phone from his pocket, he dialled a number. 

"To what do I owe having you call me, Your Majesty?" Alcina's sarcastic voice rang in his ear. Even her sarcasm was a sweet song to his ear. 

"Breathlessness. Abnormal heartbeat. Chest pain," Ryuu answered her in a breathless tone. 

"What do you think I'm your imperial doctor at your beck and call?"Alcina said immediately. "Call your team of doctors. Are you paying them for nothing?"

"Cia."

"Dammit!" Alcina cursed."Send me the location I'll be there as soon as possible."

On the other side, Alcina dropped her blind date with the excuse that her mom suddenly got ill and she had to take her to the hospital. The gentlemen also offered to drive her to the hospital but she refused when she received Ryuu's location. She couldn't believe that her very first blind date that Esma had arranged for her got disturbed because of her previous fling. Yes, a decade long fling. 

She reached the location and found Ryuu sitting on a rocking chair. If seen close, one could see the bead of sweat on his face. Although he was quiet and had closed his eyes, it could be seen that he was in great pain. 

When he felt a cold hand on his forehead, he opened his eyes to find a concerned green orb staring down at him. 

"You came?" Ryuu asked her in a hoarse voice. 

"I'm telling you it's the last time I came to help you," Alcina said after swallowing. "For once use your team of expert doctors." 

"You also said that last time. But you came again, didn't you?" Ryuu said with a pained smile. "As for doctors, they ain't better than you."
