The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

Since Ryuu wasn't going to take no for an answer, Zhenyi had to narrate the events of the day to Ryuu as to how a girl emerged claiming to be their long dead sister. This sudden claim was enough to shake Ryuu's world. Never had he ever thought that one day someone would come claiming to be their long dead sister. 

"She doesn't want to leave Du Zheng?"Ryuu said with a long sigh. "What are the odds that Du Zheng's beliefs are true?"

Of course, they wouldn't just believe that the girl was related to their family just because someone believed so. 

"I don't know, Ryuu," said Zhenyi with a troubled expression. 

"Did you get any DNA samples of that girl?" Alcina asked both of them. She knew how much Tang Reine's death had affected Ryuu. He might appear all strong and nonchalant, he still had the most vulnerable heart of all the people she knew. When he loved someone, he loved them to the extent of sacrificing his everything and when he hated someone, he would wreak havoc. 

"I didn't," Zhenyi mumbled as her attention again went back to that nameless girl. "The girl was careful not to come near me. Moreover, even the girl is not sure if Du Zheng's assumption is right or wrong." 

Wouldn't have it solved all of her problems if she had agreed to come with her?

"We can launch an investigation," Long Jie offered. 

"And I have connections that can help you," Alcina said next. Turning towards Ryuu, "You can't openly participate in the investigation. You shouldn't use the resources of the outfit either. You guys don't even know how deep the conspiracy is which resulted in Tang Reine's death. Moreover, your health doesn't permit you to step out of this room for at least two weeks." 

Alcina was right to some extent. The world didn't know anything about the birth of Tang Reine and Xin Yichen's son-- Ryuu. This was also the reason why the enemies of the Xin family had never tried to assassinate him. It would be better if his existence wasn't known by the world. 

Using outfit's or Tang's resources could land him in big trouble. He needed to be the shadow of his family if he wished to protect them. 

Ryuu scoffed."Who will do the investigation on my part? Zhenyi and Ah-Jie can't do everything by themselves. It's my responsibility too. I have my own private team and I will lead them." 

"Let me help you one last time, " Alcina said with a desperate expression. "You can't lead the team, Ryuu. The poison had impacted your major organs. If you don't get the right treatment on time, you will die." 

Alcina couldn't express in words how guilty she was right now. If she hadn't listened to his bizarre plan, nothing of this sort would have happened to him. Damm, she hated him so much. 

Zhenyi gasped as the real situation of Ryuu's health settled in her brain. "Alcina! Ryuu! Both of you, we do not need your help." Turning to Alcina, she said, "Just take care of his health. For a rumoured sibling, I can't lose my real one. I don't know who to trust except you this time. Just stay with him." 

Long Jie also agreed with his wife. Ryuu's health was currently their priority. Besides, he had more than enough resources to help his wife and brother-in-law. 

"Zhenyi, I can understand your predicament," Alcina replied with a small smile. "I know Ryuu needs me the most now more than ever. But I have to think about Faye too. You and Long Jie can't take her with you to Long Mansion. Feng Siyan can't take care of her because Ryuu needs him here. And I don't trust anyone else with my daughter." 

"Alcina, you do not need to worry about Faye," answered Long Jie. "I can assure you that she will be alright without you at the mansion. Even if I and Zhenyi can't take her with us to Long residence, we can make necessary arrangements." 

"No, Ah-Jie. I...I just can't bear to leave my daughter in any stranger's care. I stayed five years away from her because I believed that Ryuu would never let any force touch our child," Alcina said to them. "I can't stay with him and I shouldn't be with him either. He had capable doctors and family members to take care of him."

"Alcina is right, Angel," Ryuu said to his worried sister. "Time is surely tough but we will bear with it. I won't die. I know my capacity." 

Long smiled at Ryuu as he said, "Brother when times get hard, we rely on our family. We can't take care of our little princess, but there is someone else who will protect her with his life. You just have to trust yourself, no one else."

"Jie, do you think that I am selfish?" Zhenyi asked as she stared at the ceiling blankly. They were back in Long Mansion and currently, Zhenyi was lying in her husband's embrace.

Long Jie didn't even think before replying to his gorgeous wife, "Selfish? Perhaps. But who cares! As long as you are happy, I don't mind you being selfish." 

"That wasn't the answer I was anticipating," Zhenyi replied with a sigh. "But yeah, your answer turned my heart into a jelly." She paused for a moment before saying, "I know that I was being selfish by forcing Alcina to take care of Ryuu. But I really love my brother a lot. I-I just can't bear to see him in pain. Although he hid Faye from us, still I can't stay angry with him. He means a lot to me. You all mean a lot to me. If something were to happen to any of you, I swear I would go crazy." 

"We all turn selfish when it comes to someone we love," Long Jie said while caressing her hair. "I haven't loved anyone as much as I love you. So, I understand what you are going through. You believe that Alcina can cure Ryuu and you also believe that she shouldn't be with your brother because of their deep and ancient history, and also because he is a married man, right?"

"Sigh. You know me so well," Zhenyi couldn't help but dramatically say.

"You are my Cat eyes. If I don't know you well, who would I know?" Long Jie said while raising a brow.

"You better only know me!"

"Yes, my queen." 

 "Sleep, we have a mission to accomplish tomorrow." 

"Sleep? Nah, baby. You punished me all night by looking so yummy. It's my turn to eat you."
