As Zhang Boyan was carrying Alcina to her room, he heard Alcina incoherently sleep talking. This girl had walls as high as a fortress around her heart. She was always sharp evechangesr sleep. He wondered how she was mumbling in her sleep today. If she hadn't swallowed the medicine, he knew that she would have cut his limbs until now. 

He laid her in the middle of the vast bed and ordered the maids,"Clean her up first and then apply the medicines I sent you on her body. Make sure that she sleeps for at least a few hours." 

"Young Master Boyan, pain relievers don't work on Young Miss," the old maid who used to serve her said. " She will be awake in a few hours." 

He rubbed his temple in anxiousness and said,"Clean her up first. Then, I will see her personally." 

Zhang Boyan was another genius of their generation. He was the heir of the Zhang clan. So, it wasn't unusual for him to check Alcina's health. They both were trained together in traditional medicine after Alcina had returned to the Zhangs. She was already a teenager when Zhang Ye Bo had found this granddaughter of his.

"How is she?" Zhang Ye Bo asked when he saw Zhang Boyan coming downstairs. 

"Imagine experiencing fifty lashes and then kneeling in the cold for a whole night,"Zhang Boyan sarcastically replied. Of course, he hated the old man just like Alcina but was tolerating him just because he was an elder. 

"If you are so worried about her, why don't you tie her up by marrying her?" The old man retorted. According to him, every problem would be solved as long as Alcina married this young man and settled down. Once she became his wife, she would leave all her stubbornness. Also, she would stop investigating her parents. 

"Huh." Zhang Boyan heaved out a long suffering sigh. This old man was seeking his death. Still, he replied, "Clipping Alcina's wings means inviting a Phoenix to burn down the whole Zhang Clan.Elder Zhang, I don't even know what she does for a living. But the air or the bloodlust surrounding her is enough to tell me that whatever she does is not so noble. God forbid, if she still makes those deadly poisons-- " 

"Boyan! Don't talk about forbidden topics. She had vowed that she would never make poisons." Elder Zhang was aware of Alcina's talent for making the deadliest poisons in the world. But he had made Alcina vow on the Zhang Clan that she would never make them. 

Poor old man, perhaps didn't know how much she hated him and his clan. Just because she respected him didn't mean she didn't hate him. 

And he seriously thought that a simple vow could stop her from creating poisons? 

She could concoct the kind of poison one had never thought existed. 

"What about the Long family now? Both of us know that she wouldn't end her ties with them just because you say so. Give her time and use another approach. " Boyan was tired of making this old man understand his point of view. 

Alcina wasn't the same rebellious teenager out to end the world like before. She had changed so much since the time he had seen her. She had matured in the course of these five years. He wondered what changed the sensitive and the impulsive girl! 

Little did he know that it was motherhood that changed her. Although she didn't touch or see her daughter for five years, she still made a lot of changes in her life. She started making her life choices keeping her daughter in mind. 

"I know how to make her listen to me," Zhang Ye Bo said, shutting all the ways of continuing this conversation. 

"Young Master, you can check up on Young Miss now," A maid came to inform him. She hesitated before saying further. 

"What happened?" Zhang Boyan asked her. 

"Umm...she had been calling for someone in her sleep." The maid was shocked to see Alcina crying in sleep, calling for someone to help. She had never seen their young Miss crying so pitifully before. She was always the epitome of strength and stubbornness. She used to wonder if Alcina had ever shed a tear. But seeing her breaking down in her sleep made her realize that she was a human too just like all of them. 

"Calling someone in sleep?" Elder Zhang spoke up."Is she calling someone's name?"

The maid nodded. "Something like Ryuu…" 

Zhang Ye Bo closed his eyes and sank into his wheelchair. 

"Who is he or she?" Zhang Boyan asked him. 

"He is the current head of the Tang family...the same boy who she threatened to marry before." Zhang Ye Bo was beyond furious this time. "I will make sure that he dies. Bastard! He is the reason for her stubbornness. Does she think I don't know where she is!" 

Zhang Boyan fell quiet after hearing him. That boy still affects Alcina the same. 

Quietly, he left the room to check up on Alcina and only returned after administering her wound and injecting medicine. 

Just like he had anticipated, Alcina woke up after a few hours. Since anesthesia didn't work on her, she woke up with a great pain. 

"Ah… why does my body hurt like hell?"

"Maybe , if you weren't so difficult, it wouldn't..."

"Jeez, why is it you?"Alcina made a dirty face as she saw Zhang Boyan standing before him. 

" Why? Were you hoping for someone to see?"Zhang Boyan said with gritted teeth. 

"Anyone but you Zhangs."

"Alcina, if Zhangs aren't your family then who are? Longs or Tangs?" He didn't know why he was so angry. Yes, he knew from the beginning that she didn't like this family. But still… 

 "Longs? Nah. They are snakes. Tangs? Yeah, they are close enough to my heart to be called my family,"Alcina nonchalantly replied. She was daring him to go and snitch on her. 

"Girl… do you know Tangs and Zhangs are arch enemies?" Zhang Boyan felt like banging his head on the wall.
