The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

"Miss Xin, please come out. Your bail has been granted," A female appeared dressed in police uniform and unlocked the cell to take her out. 

Zhenyi was still in shock. Did she not make it clear to her husband that she had no intention of coming out? Sure, Long Jie would never go against her. 

Then, was it Bà? 

Zhenyi failed to assess one thing that if it was only for her she might have been still inside the cell as per condition but now it involved a baby too. And after seeing Alcina on the brink of miscarriage, Long Jie had no wish to see Zhenyi like this too. He would rather spend several days coaxing Zhenyi than let her get hurt here. 

Zhenyi appeared dressed in a white blouse and dyed jeans. These clothes were sent by Fan Bingbing to her. Her bare face was making her appear more fragile and weak. When she entered the room where she was asked to go after all the formalities, she saw Long Jie standing there, clad in a three piece suit talking with officers while showing his superiority. 

As if he could feel her gaze on him, he turned his head to find her standing there all alone. She was like a flower in the middle of thorns. He said something to the commissioner and then walked to her side. 

Wrapping his arm around her shoulder, he first kissed her temple in front of everyone and then made her exit the police station without saying a word. 

He opened the car door for her and then drove the car without saying a word.

Zhenyi was looking at him, still waiting for him to talk to her. Instead of talking, he was humming a song. 

She opened her mouth to say something but words stuck in her throat as she found him driving the car still humming the same song. 

Getting irritated with this behaviour, she just put on the music and closed her eyes. 

Out of sight. Out of mind, right? 

She only opened her eyes when the car stopped. 

As she opened her eyes, she found herself in front of the building where she first spent her night with Long Jie. 

The Penthouse. 

So many memories connected with this place. 

Long Jie opened the door for her and she got out of the car, her eyes still looking at the building in her front. It was only when she turned her eyes to look at him, she found him intensely staring at her. 

He wrapped one of his arms around her waist to prevent her from getting hurt by a car and another on the side of her face and lowered his head to capture her lips. 

He sucked and nipped her lips in a gentle manner. It felt as if he was trying to control himself yet he was trying to pour all his emotions and words he wanted to say to her through this kiss. He was never good with words and so instead of telling him how much he missed her and how scared he had been all this time, he showed her everything with his actions. 

Several minutes after he broke the kiss, he heard her say, "I missed you too." 

He tightened his arms around her waist and embraced her thin body in his arms. He still didn't say anything because he didn't know what to say. Or he didn't want to say the wrong words. 

"Let's go inside," Long Jie said. 

Zhenyi nodded her head but she didn't ask him why they were here. She just let him take the lead. 

When they entered the penthouse, she saw Gu Tian standing by the door waiting for them. He bowed his head and greeted her and she smiled in reply. 

Long Jie had her hand clasped in his while Zhenyi was still studying the penthouse. She was trying to look for traces that suggest they spent the night here. 

"We had our first food fight here," Long Jie said with a nostalgic smile while pointing at one point. It was as if he could read her mind. 

Zhenyi laughed and nodded her head. "It's been a year. I can't believe it. I still remember how much I hated you then." 

Long Jie rubbed her wrist with the pad of his thumb and murmured, "And now?" 

She turned her head to look at him brightly. "Now, I love my husband more than myself." 

Long Jie kissed her nose but didn't say anything. With a smile on his face, he led her inside. 

Inside the room, Zhenyi's doctor was waiting for them. She did some tests including an ultrasound once again. This time both Zhenyi and Long Jie were able to hear the mesmerising sound of their baby's heartbeat. 

Ah, they were so happy. 

"Mrs Long, as you said that this pregnancy is a surprise for you. I discussed options with you but you said you will inform me about your decision after discussing with your husband," The doctor said while maintaining a professional smile. 

Zhenyi gazed at Long Jie with soft eyes but he squeezed her hand and looked at the doctor. "Will Zhenyi be alright? And the baby?"

The doctor nodded at him. "Although Mrs Long is extremely weak this time. But there is nothing incurable. The fetus is weak too as its health depends upon the mother. With extra care and rest, the fetus can be strengthened. Of course, termination of pregnancy is also an option. You both are young and have no incurable or serious illness. If you choose termination, you can plan pregnancy later too." 

"I want to keep the baby," Zhenyi told Long Jie. "I know I need to be extra careful but I trust you. I know you can protect both of us." 

Long Jie looked at the doctor and said, "You have the answer now, doctor."

The doctor smiled politely once again and narrated dos and don'ts to both of them and prescribed medicines that Zhenyi needed to take.
