The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

When Alcina opened her eyes, she found herself in a dimly lit room. She was sitting on a chair and her hands were tied behind her back. She felt an indescribable sense of danger for her and her baby. She knew that she wouldn't be able to fight in this condition. 

If it was a normal situation, she would have been able to escape the kidnappers. But she was eight months pregnant and there was no way she could even bend down to grab a thing from the ground. Therefore, the question of fighting against an enemy she didn't even understand was out of the question. 

She had to do something or she would not be able to save herself and the baby. 

Ryuu must have been worried about her. What would he do if something were to happen to her and the baby? Would he live the same life Xin Yichen lived without Tang Reine? She couldn't imagine dying and leaving Ryuu alone to fight his demons. Nobody wanted to die. And she too wanted to leave this place safely. She must go back to her husband. He must be waiting for her. 

Why was it happening with her? 

She left that life behind a long time ago. 

Now that she was finally happy in her life, she was haunted by this tragedy. Why?

Alcina's eyes wandered in the darkroom, looking for means to get out of here safely but they rested on a spot where a slim figure was tired, on the chair next to her. It was Jun, the boy who requested to join her. 

What was he doing here? She wanted to call his name out but she was afraid that she would put his life in danger. She shouldn't have allowed him to follow her. And she shouldn't have gone there on her grandfather's call. It was a trap. How stupid was she to walk right into it? 

Yes, she was desperate to break free from Zhang family but never had she ever thought that her own grandfather would betray him in such a way. Why the hell was she so stupid trying to be a perfect granddaughter for him? 

Moments later, she heard the sound of footsteps. Someone was walking towards her. Her heart jerked in her chest and she felt a sudden baby movement. Biting her lip, she prevented from letting out a shriek. 

The door opened and a person she hadn't ever expected, even in her wildest dream, entered the room. No, he couldn't be the enemy. No, he was always the innocent party. He never had any expectations from anyone. He was the most unambitious man she had ever come across. 

How could it be him? 

What Alcina didn't understand was that sometimes most unambitious persons are those we need to be more wary of. At least, we knew what an ambitious person desired to accomplish but the former one is the wolves hiding in sheep's skin. 

He was one such man and nobody could ever see through him. 

"My dear niece, nice to meet you!" The man smiled at her. However, his smile was not kind. It was sinister that made the hair on her body stand quickly. He took several steps towards and asked in a mellow voice, "How are you doing?! Are my people treating you well?" Then, he palmed his head and added, "Ah, how stupid of me to ask such an unnecessary question?"

"Long Sheng, "Alcina whispered. No, it couldn't be him. There had to be a fault in the whole thing that was happening. All along, she had believed that it had to be Long Shaoming who was the reason for her father's sorry condition. "Why is it you?"

"Why can't it be me?!" Long Sheng banged the table. He seemed offended by the choice of her words. "Why do all of you always underestimate me?!"

What Long Sheng always hated was how he was always underestimated by every? First, it was Long Ah Shaan, the genius son and heir to the prestigious Long Family. Everybody used to worship the ground that the bastard walked on. 

After Long Ah Shaan's death, it was Long Shaoming. The leader and the protector. Why he was never valued? Was he, Long Sheng, less valuable than the two of them? 

As if being treated like shit by his brothers was not enough, his nephew rose to power, suppressing his son! Today, Long Jie had everything while his son was still living on the mercies of the former. Why was his family treated so unfairly? 

Yes, he planned and plotted for years to get his son to have everything and every chance that was taken away from him. But why was Long Jie announced as the heir to the Long family without any fair test?

Long Jie was the son of a traitor and he should have been punished for the same offence as his father.

"You are the mysterious enemy, " Alcina said. It wasn't her assumption. Everything made sense to her now. Why did Long Sheng sabotage his own family and Xin family? It made sense now. 

For power, he betrayed his own family. How could someone be so selfish?

"So what if I was?" Long Sheng scoffed. 

Rather than feeling remorse for killing hundreds and thousands of people for a goal that was meant to satisfy his ego, he was feeling proud. He was so proud to announce that he was the same mysterious enemy who made Xin Yichen leave the country and take shelter in another one. He was the same man who forced Xin Yichen to not announce to the world that he had a child. He coerced Xin Yichen into accepting all his conditions by threatening Zhenyi's life.

 How easy it was for him to make Xin Yichen submit to him! How could he not be proud? He had all the reasons to be proud of himself! 

The mysterious enemy everyone had been guessing and assuming from the beginning was no one else but Long Shaoming's brother and Long Jie's uncle.
