The Villain's Little Cat

They went to the seventh floor through the training room. In fact, it was quite funny now that they thought about how high the security system was. However, Kate and Kyle’s real laboratory was indeed at the seventh floor.

No one will be able to figure out what these two were making until they promote it out.

There was also a kitchen at the seventh floor along with the exhaust pipe that was connected to the third floor and will be dispersed with the equipment there to avoid making the place smell.

"What do you want to eat tonight?" Kate asked while taking the apron from the side. She picked the bigger one for Kyle and the smaller one for her.

"Maybe soup?" Kyle looked at Kate.

He knew that his woman can only cook soup or porridge, so he had been adjusting his taste to make sure that he could eat what she’s making.

Kate looked at Kyle speechlessly. "You’re the one in charge of cooking today. I’ll just help you wash the vegetables."

Kyle laughed. His cooking might not be superb, but it has more variety as compared to Kate. "Okay."

The two of them began to work.

Kate washed the vegetables while Kyle prepared the meat. After that, he worked on the wok and made several dishes. All Kate did was to help him wash and cut the vegetables. She really couldn’t help much in terms of cooking.

Watching Kyle cooked from the back, Kate smiled faintly. This kind of warm life was much more fun as compared to when they kept on roaming around with no fixed place. At that time, they were tense as anything could happen and they had to do their best to protect themselves.

Now, they could rest easy and enjoyed a normal life.

"Alright, it’s done." Kyle turned around while holding the plate and saw Kate was staring in his direction. He smiled, "Is your boyfriend handsome?"

"Handsome," Kate answered almost instinctively. Suddenly, she felt that there was something wrong and saw her boyfriend teasing gaze. Her face flushed with embarrassment for being caught by him.

She coughed dryly and walked out of the kitchen as if she wanted to run away.

Kyle laughed at Kate’s cute reaction and walked to the dining room with the few plates of food he had cooked. Now that he had decided to stay with Kate, he will naturally also prepare food for her when she want to.

"Stop looking at me," Kate said in a low voice when she saw Kyle was still looking at her.

"I can’t help it. My girlfriend is very beautiful today," Kyle answered smoothly.

Kate glared at Kyle, feeling that he was being affected by Jake’s mouth. He would not speak like this in the past.

"Just eat." Kyle laughed and took the spoon.

Kate looked at the food and her stomach grumbled a bit. Alright, she had to admit that she’s hungry.

With that, the two of them ate heartily.

After the short dinner, the two of them walked around the seventh floor to digest their food. There was no one else because the others were staying on the ground today. They will only use this place occasionally when they didn’t want to be disturbed by anyone.

After all, no one can reach them when they were here.

Well, their phone was still working, though.

"Do you prefer to stay here or above?" Kyle asked in a low voice as the two of them began to walk around the seventh floor.

"I don’t care either way." Kate tilted her head.

She didn’t think that there was any difference with staying on the surface and staying in this little secret base with Kyle. In any case, she will either stay with her parents on the third floor, stay in General Ryan’s house, or stay in the seventh floor here.

"Hmm?"

"As long as you’re nearby, it’s fine anywhere…" Kate felt that her sentence was a bit too ambiguous and looked at Kyle, her face reddening. "I mean… I don’t really think that it’s that different to stay out there or here…"

Kyle looked at his girlfriend deeply as his adam apple rolled. He felt that she was teasing him, but he had no evidence that she was truly doing it. Suppressing the thoughts within his mind, he pressed Kate closer to him in an embrace.

"Kyle…"

"Let me stay this way for a while," Kyle answered, his voice somewhat hoarse.

Kate felt that she better followed Kyle’s words, so she stayed still. In this position, she could hear Kyle’s heartbeat, which was somewhat faster than his calm face suggested him to be.

The two of them stayed in each other’s embrace for a while before Kyle released Kate.

Kate lowered her eyes and then walked towards their laboratory. It was located a distance away from the other room in case there was an accident that happened.

Well, they were always being careful, though.

Countless sophisticated machines were placed in the laboratory, ready to be used when it was necessary.

The two of them were mostly researching new materials that was mixed with the energy ability. After awakening, they knew that they could produce the energy by themselves, but they didn’t exactly know the principle.

Some other researchers were researching about that matter, such as Dr. Dall.

And Kyle and Kate were more into the practical use of these energy into the materials, making use of the newfound material to make stronger and better technologies.

"You’re not going to work again in the middle of the night, are you?" Kyle asked helplessly when he watched Kate entered the lab.

"No, I just want to take this out." Kate took out the report she printed last night. "I left it last night because there are a lot of pages to be printed and I have a lot to ask you about it, Professor Kyle."

Kyle arched his eyebrows and leaned. "You know that you can ask it anytime you want, right?"

"I don’t always spend time with you." Kate dodged his eyes. "And you’re also busy with other things occasionally."

"Fine, let’s go to my study."

Kyle’s study was located right beside Kyle’s bedroom. It was recently made so that Kyle could finish his job without the need to go up and meet his father.

He sat at the main desk and Kate turned into a cat, sitting on the table to listen to Kyle’s explanation. She asked a few questions and Kyle would answer them in accordance. After a while, Kyle no longer heard Kate’s question.

He looked down and saw that the little cat was sleeping.

Smiling bitterly, he picked the little cat and walked to his bed. Since she’s in her cat’s form, Kyle will shamelessly put her in his room. Anyway, there was a separate pillow for her bed there.

Plop!

Lying on the bed, Kyle smiled as he watched the little cat sleeping beside him.

It’s good to live like this.

I will write a few epilogues and side story, but the release rate might not be as consistent as how it has been so far (>.<)

As much as I would love to continue writing about Kyle and Kate, it’s time to leave them be.

Kate: "Author, just admit that your story planning for me is over."

Kyle: "Just ignore this unreliable author."

Author: "…" why did I make them like this?

Truthfully, in regards to the world building, I can still expand it but the ideas I have wouldn’t fit much with Kate’s storyline. I’m still thinking about whether to build a sequel or not in the future and prob at that time, it will focus more on the new generation.

(Which meant that Kyle and Kate would only be in the background…)

But that’s still just a plan lol, so no promise here.
