Chapter 115 - Very Thick Thigh
"AHHHH!" An Luxia screamed, jumping up from the bed, causing a flock of birds outside the window to immediately fly away in fear.
Mo Han, who had just been sleeping, also frowned as he slowly opened his eyes, "Baby, what happened? It's so early," he said, looking at the clock nearby that read 7:17.
An Luxia sat up straight as she reached her arm over and began tapping Mo Han on the face in excitement. . . Well, more like slapping.
Mo Han scrunched his face up as he sat up, scratching his head, "What's happening?"
An Luxia turned around, slamming her phone into Mo Han's face, shaking it left and right, "Look at what email I just received!!"
Mo Han grabbed onto the phone and quickly skimmed through the email, which read:
"Dear summerwind, I am the manager of the content department at XX Film Company. After reading through your amazing novel, ''The Underworld King's Beloved Wife," we wanted to offer you an invitation to adapt your novel into a TV series. We can negotiate the contract terms in person if you would prefer. Feel free to contact me at this email. Thank you and I look forward to your reply"
An Luxia was still screaming as she jumped up and down on the bed, hugging a pillow as if it was a million dollars. She then fell back down onto the soft bed, grabbing the phone back from Mo Han, muttering to herself, "I have to hurry up and reply before the offer expires!"
Mo Han watched his little wife and couldn't help but smile, rubbing her head gently, "Dummy, the offer won't expire."
An Luxia stuck her tongue out playfully as she replied to the email as fast as she could, turning to look at Mo Han, "Little Hanhan, my dream is coming true. I never thought that this novel would do this well."
Mo Han grinned, "Of course! The novel is about us, so of course it would do well."
"I know -" An Luxia froze mid-sentence as she narrowed her eyes, "Wait a second. . . How do you know what this novel is about?"
Mo Han blinked a few times innocently, just realizing that he had accidentally said the wrong thing, "Um. . . I. . . Well. . ."
An Luxia thought back and something suddenly clicked inside her as she gasped, "Did you?! No way? Were you the one who voted for me in the beginning? But how do you have so many. . . Did you force people into voting for me?!"
Mo Han smiled awkwardly, scratching the back of his head, "Let's not talk about that now haha. Sleep, sleep."
He said, laying down on the bed and pulling An Luxia down with him. However, An Luxia was not going to let him off the hook so easily, "Tell me! Was it you?"
Mo Han finally gave up as he nodded, "Yes, yes, but the rest was all of your hard work! I only did it because I truly liked your story, nothing else!"
An Luxia did not say anything and Mo Han thought that she was mad, and he internally slapped himself and his quick mouth for talking too much. However, the next second, An Luxia lunged herself into his embrace, forgetting that his injury was still not completely healed yet.
"Ah! My little Hanhan is the best! I finally understand how it feels to be the female lead inside a novel that can just grab onto the thick thigh of her husband! It feels so nice!"
Mo Han was shocked by her reaction, and he stared at her for a few seconds before laughing, "Is my thigh really that thick?"
"Yes, the thickest thigh in the whole world!" An Luxia stopped, licking her lips as she thought for a second, "Talking about thighs is making me hungry. Why don't we eat fried chicken today to celebrate?"
Mo Han chuckled, thinking that her area of focus was quite weird. Why was she thinking of food right now?
After An Luxia had finally quieted down slightly, Mo Han's eyes dimmed as his focus also turned to food, a very delicious food.
"Since you can't sleep, why don't we do something else?"
An Luxia's eyes lit up, "What? Eat fried chicken?"
". . ." Mo Han gulped, wondering how in the world he got himself caught up with a girl like her, "No, eat you!"
And before An Luxia could react, Mo Han showed him exactly how thick his thigh is.
---
Mo Han walked out of the bathroom after taking a shower, water still dripping down his hair and body. He put on a black silk bathrobe and grabbed a towel to dry his hair.
His eyes landed on the small figure still deep asleep on the bed, all of the excitement earlier gone. Instead, it was replaced with fatigue from too much exercise.
He smiled and grabbed his phone, sending a quick message to K for him to check the email that had sent An Luxia a message to make sure it was legit.
He did not want his baby to get scammed. Plus, he did not understand why she was so excited. If she had told him, he could have easily arranged an adaptation agreement for any of her novels.
He looked at her on the bed and sighed before leaving the room to get some work done.
--- Three days later
Because An Luxia did not have many concerns and was happy with whatever terms the company gave her, she quickly got the contract signed with one of the biggest film entertainment companies in the country.
Apparently, the company was tied with the writing platform she wrote on, and the writing platform had recommended her book to be adapted. Everything had happened too fast, and it was all like a dream that even when she told her parents, they did not believe her at first.
After signing the contract and getting the first check with the down payment, An Luxia happily skipped out of the building, entering the car where Mo Han was waiting for her to eat dinner.
There was no driver so she sat in the passenger seat and Mo Han drove.
When she entered the car, the first thing she did was wave the check in front of Mo Han with a large smile on her face, "50,000 USD!"
Mo Han smiled at her, not wanting to tell her that 50 thousand was not a lot for an adaption, "Yes, my rich wife. Where do you want to go to eat? Don't you think that you should treat me tonight?"
An Luxia waved the check and grinned, "No problem! We can eat whatever you want!"
Mo Han could not help but smile at her smuggish expression as he leaned his head onto his arm, joking, "My wife is rich now, isn't she?"
"Mhm!" An Luxia nodded, "Very rich! I can be your sugar mommy now," An Luxia spoke proudly, chuckling at her own words.
Mo Han smiled, nodding, "Okay, then I am going to have to depend on you for the rest of my life."
An Luxia rolled her eyes, crossing her arms together, "Hmph! Then you have to treat me well. Or else, one day, if I'm unhappy, maybe I will just throw you away on the streets and run away with my money!"
Mo Han chuckled as he reached his hand out and pinched her nose, "Then I will be very sad. It seems like I will have to treat my sugar mommy very well."
"That's right!" An Luxia put on her seatbelt and happily licked her lips, "Let's go eat dinner!"
---
The next day, An Luxia had to go to school so she could not stay home and continue to write. After what had happened, she was much more motivated to write now.
The company had called her and said that they wanted the drama to come out during the holiday season, so they would have to be quick. They would start looking for actors right away and the auditions would start next week.
An Luxia had to take her tests for school early because she wanted to participate in picking actors. Although when she was writing the characters, she had based them off of herself and Mo Han, she was still interested in picking her An Xia and Han Mo, the two main characters in her novel.
And yes, An Luxia had absolutely no skill in making up names, so the characters' names were obviously very unique.
At school, she waved at Shen Liya, who she knew was in the same class, and she waved back.
"Luxia, here! I bought you milk tea," she said, pushing a large cup towards An Luxia, who smiled gratefully.
"You don't have to. I'll treat you next time."
Shen Liya nodded as she took a sip herself, "Then I will thank you beforehand!"
An Luxia, Shen Liya, and Yu Xinyi had become quite close over this period of time although Shen Liya was one year younger. She was a very sweet girl and rarely ever had an attitude.
After taking the class and also staying to take the test early, An Luxia returned home, eager to write.
---
At night, Mo Han entered the room with a cup of warm milk, setting it onto the table loudly as she sat down next to her.
"Ms. Author, do you want to watch a movie together? We can watch a horror movie," he persuaded, only to receive a rejection from An Luxia.
"No, I have to write."
Mo Han frowned, "You have been writing so much these past few days, I'm scared your fingers are going to get glued to the keyboard."
An Luxia chuckled and looked up, stretching her neck as she had been seated in the same position for too long. Finally, she closed her computer and stood up, grabbing the cup of milk with one hand and Mo Han's hand with the other, "Fine, I want to watch a shark movie!"
Mo Han gulped as he was pulled out of the room.
Is it too late to regret his decision?
