The Wife of Hades

Mo Han stood up and walked over, politely greeting Yu Xinyi, who in turn, glared at him suspiciously, "So you're the dude that stole my Xiaxia away?"

Mo Han blinked a few times confusedly, "Um. . . yes."

Yu Xinyi rolled her eyes and then looked straight past Mo Han, her eyes landing on An Yuchen. At once, the annoyance on her face disappeared as a blush spread across her cheeks.

An Yuchen smiled at her, "Hello, Xinyi."

Yu Xinyi's blush reddened as she waved back, "Hello, brother Yuchen."

An Luxia tried to suppress her laugh as she watched the two of them. Finally, she cleared her throat and pulled Yu Xinyi over to the couch. The four of them sat back down again.

"An Luxia, you still haven't answered me yet? Why did you lie to me, mom, and dad?" An Yuchen asked, his voice turning serious.

An Luxia looked away guiltily, "I didn't lie. . . right? I just. . . didn't include some extra irrelevant information."

"Irrelevant? You -"

Yu Xinyi stood up, "Wait! What are you guys talking about? What lie? What information?"

An Luxia pulled Yu Xinyi down and tugged at her sleeve, whispering, "Yiyi, you have to help me."

"Xinyi, you tell An Luxia what she did wrong," An Yuchen said angrily, "This Mo Han, the dude that An Luxia married. He is the leader of the HLX!"

Yu Xinyi's eyes widened, "The HLX?! Like that HLX? The one -"

An Luxia nodded her head, looking over at Yu Xinyi pitifully, "Help me. . ."

Yu Xinyi slowly looked over at Mo Han, who was calmly sipping his tea, "Hey you!"

Mo Han looked up, "Me?"

Yu Xinyi scrunched her face up annoyedly, "Yes you! Who else would it be? You really are the leader of the HLX?"

Mo Han quickly put his cup down, sitting up straightly, "Yes, I am. However, I promise that I will never hurt Luxia and I will also not get her entangled with anything related to the HLX."

Yu Xinyi nodded her head, her expression changing slightly. She turned around to An Luxia, "So you found yourself a handsome cold romance novel male lead?"

An Luxia nodded excitedly, "Yes, so you have to help me!"

Yu Xinyi raised one eyebrow, "You like him?"

An Luxia nodded her head eagerly, "Yes, yes. Xinyi, help me with my brother."

Yu Xinyi lifted one hand up, curving her thumb and pointer together into an "okay" sign. She winked at An Luxia and grinned, turning to look at An Yuchen.

"Brother Yuchen, you're absolutely right!"

An Luxia, who was just about to relax, immediately widened her eyes as she looked over at Yu Xinyi in disbelief, "You're supposed to help me!"

Yu Xinyi glared at An Luxia, shutting her up as she pinched An Luxia's arm.

"Brother Yuchen, you're absolutely right! An Luxia, how dare you lie to your brother and parents?!"

An Luxia's mouth fell open confusedly, but she slowly nodded her head upon receiving Yu Xinyi's wink, "Yes. . . totally. How dare I."

An Yuchen looked between the two of them a little confusedly.

"However!" Yu Xinyi clapped her hands together, "I mean, brother Yuchen, having Luxia marry the leader of the HLX might not be too bad, right?"

An Yuchen raised one eyebrow at Yu Xinyi, causing her to look away in both nervousness and excitement.

"I mean, he can protect Xiaxia, right?! Right?" She asked, turning to look at An Luxia for support.

An Luxia immediately picked up, "Of course! Brother, Mo Han can protect me very well! You know, I am a weak little white lo - I mean, I'm not a white lotus! I'm a weak little girl, and only someone like the King of the Underworld can protect me, right?"

An Yuchen, Mo Han, and Yu Xinyi all stared at her with different emotions as they watched her dramatic act. Ah, they were used to it by now.

However, Yu Xinyi still had to help her best friend.

"Exactly, brother Yuchen! Have you ever heard of the saying the most dangerous place to be is the safest place to be?!"

An Yuchen cleared his throat and looked up at Mo Han, who was calmly sitting there, looking over at An Luxia.

Noticing that her brother was almost convinced, An Luxia immediately went over and sat down next to her brother, grabbing onto his arm.

"Exactly! Plus, I am his wife and Mo Han treats me very well. You don't have to be scared. I married him for a reason! I'm sure that the famous and mysterious leader of the HLX will be able to protect me well and never hurt me, right?"

She said, looking over at Mo Han who immediately nodded upon An Luxia's cue.

An Yuchen narrowed his eyes, "Really?"

"Of course!"

"You be quiet," An Yuchen said to his sister, "You! Why did you marry my stupid sister?"

"I'm no -" An Luxia opened her mouth to reject the new label put onto her.

"You be quiet!" An Luxia said fiercely again. An Luxia pursed her lips out angrily as she shut up.

"Because I love her," Mo Han said simply without even blinking an eye.

"Ah -" Yu Xinyi placed both hands over her chest, almost like she had just been shot.

An Yuchen knit his eyebrows together, contemplating his answer for several seconds before turning to look at An Luxia, "Xiaxia, you shouldn't have hidden this from us."

An Luxia nodded her head, "Yes, I know, I know. I'm sorry, brother. . . But please don't tell mom and dad!"

She had confidence in being able to convince her brother, but she wasn't so sure about her two protective parents.

Although she was pretty certain by now that Mo Han wouldn't hurt her, her parents might not believe it.

An Yuchen sighed, "I know, I know."

He stood up from the couch, "I'm going to leave now. I still have patients waiting for me back at the hospital. Come home often, okay?"

"Yes, sir!" An Luxia stood up as well immediately, escorting her brother all the way to his car before returning back to the house.

Once she stepped foot into the living room, a strong force immediately pulled her onto the couch.
