Chapter 67 - The Gui Hotel
Mo Han smiled and loosened his grip, "Nothing, goodbye."
An Luxia frowned but still said, "Goodbye," and got out of the car. She quickly walked to her class, which was on the third floor of a tower.
Luckily, the teacher was running late as well when she arrived. This course was a very popular one, and it was open to all grades, so there were a lot of people.
When she walked in, the talking stopped as everyone turned to look at the female winner of the annual school beauty contest. However, one person's reaction was different.
Li Yilan immediately jumped up when she saw who had just walked in. An Luxia's eyes met with hers and they stared at each other before she finally looked away from guilt and confusion.
How was she at school today?! Wasn't she supposed to be hurt or in a hospital? What happened?
She quickly sat down and pulled out her phone, making a call as she walked towards the edge of the room so people wouldn't hear, although no one was paying any attention to her.
After a minute, no one picked up and she called again, but once again, no one picked up. She sent another text message to Lin Qiwei only to find that it couldn't go through.
He blocked her?! What?! Li Yilan's mouth fell open as she sent text after text, only to receive a red exclamation mark next to each one.
So what happened?
The class was going to start so she sat back down. As she did, Xu Xin, who sat next to her, scoffed, "Look at your beloved sister. So disgusting."
Li Yilan looked up to see a ton of people sitting around An Luxia, talking to her. She smiled back as they talked, and laughter and chatter spread from that side of the room.
She clenched her fists together, thinking that this popularity would all be hers if that disgusting b**** didn't steal the win away from her.
She teared her eyes away, not wanting to look at the scene again. Xu Xin pulled out her phone as well and tried not to pay attention to the other side of the room anymore although it was hard.
"Did you see the news today? The Lin Corporation suddenly went bankrupt!" A girl behind them suddenly exclaimed.
Upon hearing that, Li Yilan immediately whirled her head around, "What did you just say?!"
The girl was slightly surprised from Li Yilan's huge reaction as she repeated, "The Lin Corporation went bankrupt. . ."
Li Yilan immediately turned around and called Lin Qiwei again, only to not receive any response once again. Bankrupt?! How?
"Are you okay? Xu Xin asked, looking at her confusedly.
Li Yilan didn't respond as she tried to take deep breaths, her eyes darting to the other side of the room. No way. . . She was just overthinking. There was no way the two events were connected.
Even though An Luxia's family was better than hers, she couldn't compete with the Lin Corporation. What was she thinking?!
Li Yilan slammed her palm against her head and closed her phone as she took one last look at the group of people flocking around An Luxia and complimenting her.
She clenched her teeth together, gritting them together as she slammed one fist onto the table, causing Xu Xin to flinch in shock.
Why did she get all the attention?!
Just then, the teacher walked in, which finally stopped the chatter and laughter coming from the other side of the room as the people returned to their own seats again and the class began.
---
After the only lecture she had today, An Luxia left and quickly made her way to the back of the school. She had eaten lunch but was hungry already as she made her way to the back parking lot. The lecture lasted for several hours, and it was almost time for dinner already as she left the school.
She was surprised when she did not see the black car in the parking lot, and she pulled out her phone to call Mo Han.
The phone call rang for a while but no one on the other side picked up for a long time. As she hung up, the car finally turned into the parking lot.
It came to an abrupt stop in front of her and she got on, putting on her seatbelt, "Did you have some work to finish today?"
Mo Han cleared his throat before replying, "Yes, I'm sorry. I was a little late. Come on, let's go eat dinner."
An Luxia nodded excitedly, obviously hungry from the long lecture.
The car slowly drove out of the school and made its way onto the speedway, but not the one in the direction of the house.
An Luxia looked out the window, trying to pull out her hand that was enclosed in Mo Han's large hand, but his grip was quite firm, "Where are we going?"
Mo Han looked out the window as well before smiling faintly, "To eat dinner. Let's eat outside today."
After a long drive, they arrived in front of an extravagant building that seemed to grow all the way into the sky.
Mo Han got out of the car and walked around it to the other side, opening the door for An Luxia. He bent down slightly like a prince, holding his hand out for An Luxia as he pulled her out, still grabbing onto her hand as they walked in together.
The two workers at the front door bowed down politely and as they walked in, An Luxia looked left and right, noticing that this didn't really resemble a restaurant.
Instead, it looked more like a hotel. . .
Noticing her confusion, Mo Han quickly explained, "This is the Gui Hotel."
At once, An Luxia's eyes widened into a fish as they came to a stop in front of the golden elevator door. She may have never been here before, but she definitely knew what the Gui Hotel was.
It was the best hotel in the country, and was also listed in the top 10 hotels of the world! It took more than just money to reserve a room here. You had to have power or fame to some extent to be able to book a room here.
An Luxia stared at her husband in shock, not sure how he was able to book a room even if he was the leader of the HLX. Wasn't his identity supposed to be kept secret? How could he get in with an unknown identity?
There was a ding as the elevator door opened, revealing two people who stood inside.
