The World's most Overpowered Side-Character

Chapter 408 The Great War.

"Who are you?" Alpha after returning to the main group with everyone else approached Xie and stood there before him curiously. "I was unsure so I spoke to mu daughter about it, why is there so little of you in the system?"

"I thought that was for the best Lady Alpha," Xie answered honestly. "The past me, despite seeming to be in the right because of everyone else challenging me, was very much in the wrong, I was a bad person... I am a bad person; a bad apple surrounded by golden fruits and silver flowers."

"Having my name and history inside of the Codex where everyone can freely view it may damage the reputation of Surrogate Vestic, so I decided to keep my history to myself, the Master does not mind and nobody else seems to care, so I was not going to mention it."

"If that is how you feel then you have no need to make any uploads of it," Sol turmed from his conversation with Fuhua, Yu, Dina and Arla. "But I want to know who and what the Mad Raven of Source is, I speculated as soon as I met you, but your mana..." Sol paused and looked at everyone else, remembering that Xie's mana was almost black entirely.

He had dark mana, not as dark as Umbra or Giza's, but it was undoubtedly the powers of darkness that he manipulated causing his mana to become that dark shade of grey.

"Let's speak in private." Sol gestured to the side."

[Skill: Creation]

A pair of chairs and a small table with a kettle and two cups appeared a few feet away, and then a barrier snapped into place around it leaving Xie speechless as he stared, once again, Creation was something that was supposed to be impossible even for someone as skilled as Sol, this was a power that defied the laws of reality.

No "Being" is supposed to be able to casually make nothing out of something, only Source and other forms and bodies like it.

"Will this be enough?" Xie asked, standing and waiting for Sol to sit first and then fanning his robes to the side and sitting dramatically, passively conveying that he was of a different era where mannerisms were very different.

"The Veil blocks Visual and Oral clues, they will not be able to see or hear what we are speaking about, and nobody would dare intrude on this conversation." Sol assured him, watching him pick up the kettle and pour them both tea and then daintily place it on the table again.

"Very well, you have my trust Master Vestic, and my admiration, whatever you wish to know, I will speak the truth and nothing else."

"There's no need to be so formal when there is only the two of us." Sol sipped. "Even if I won the bet, I still consider you an elder, you are from ancient times, you have far more wisdom than I do, and you are far stronger than I am, so speak freely in the confines of our privacy."

"Very well." Xie nodded, slightly changing his posture and relaxing a little more. "Where shall I begin?"

"From the start, I want to know in this same order, what the three realms were, then your lineage as the prince of the third, what caused the destruction of the third realm, who did it, their personal grudges if you remember, how the two remaining realms became Source." Sol answered, making a list.

"I may ask a few other questions in-between to fill out parts that make no sense, and in consideration of the time we will spend on this..."

Sol paused and raised his hand.

[Clockwork]

"What is this strange feeling?" Xie asked, but rather than shock or confusion, them man seemed more at ease as he tried making sense of the other bubble of mana that had formed around them inside of the barrier.

"[Clockwork] is a skill that manipulates time and slows it to a crawl, or speeds it up so fast that nothing is percievable for myself or anyone I desire, I cast it directly onto the two of us, so we will be in a time bubble that runs ten times faster than the outside," Sol gestured to the outside and Xie looked at everyone.

Even though he could see their form there was no detail, they were nearly frozen, and the light particles hitting them were so few that the world itself seemed dark because of it. "Fascinating...!"

"Yes, there is no information on the skills I use in the Codex, but if you ask Alpha directly she will tell you, and probably give you a guide on its use... prpbably, now back to the matter at hand," Sol gestured to the man again.

"Yes, the very specific list of timelined events which led to my imprisonment," Xie nodded. "To begin, The Three Realms were once a sole body, plainly called Heaven, and those inhabiting it were from a time even before us, there was once just one earth, one darkness, one light."

"Earth?" Sol furrowed his brows. "Are you sure that's what it was called?"

"Indeed," Xia nodded. In terms of history, after reading about you in the codex I was more shocked than anything when I realised that the first and the earth you are from are practically the same, nearky identical aside fron the whole summoning bit, that never happened on the first, because there was nowhere for people to get summoned to."

"So what changed?" Sol continued furrowing his brows.

"According to the scrolls, earth suffered an end of days rupture and the wicked were cast away, while the good were sent to a higher plane; they became one with the first light disappearing in that light.

"Holy shit..." Sol furrowed his brows. "Go on, what happened to the outcasts?"

"They joined the darkness and were washed away witnin it, the first light, the power of creation spent a long time doing nothing at all, but then all of a sudden the concept of heaven ejected some of those souls into a new plain, and the darkness did the same, sending back only a major fraction of the souls it had as well," Xhe sipped and sighed.

"Heaven became the first realm; Chundu, home of the beings that would later be called Gods, the second realm the realm of humans and other new species like fairies, dragonkin, fae, elves, you know them."

"None of them existed before that time, the middle realm was called Fanren, which means mortal in my language, and the third realm; my realm, being the realm of the unforgiven was named the Realm of demons."

"So," Sol interrupted him." You are a demon?" He asked, not even realising that his body while remaining calm failed to hide the sudden hostility in his eyes.

"No, it was only the realm of demons, named Liufang; the home of the vanquished. While demons existsed primarily there and nowhere else, a vast majority of the inhabitants were human, my family and our entire lineage are human." Xie quickly clarified before he was attacked.

"In that sense, you are more demon than I am."

"What?" Sol nearly stood, but reigned himself in and cleared his throat. "What do you mean by that?"

"Godslayers are from Liufang, the godslayer powers you are so proud of come from the Realm of the Vanquished, while your wife, Ikaris, hails from Chundu, your kind were once enemies that constantly intruded each other's realms and waged wars, but after a long time, you both came to the conclusion that neither side could win."

"A treaty was made and the Godslayers became the Vassals of the Vatui, forming the most unbreakable alliance in the history of creation, also abandoning Liufang in the process, never to return."

"The Grey," Sol mused. "The area that treads between realities and grants power beond reason-"

"Is a product of the Third Realm; Liufang, you are Part demon by just being Godslayer," Xie nodded, taking a break and watching Sol bitterly cone to terms with this reality.

"Keep going."

"Very well," Xie nodded, pouring Sol another cup of tea. "Unlike the present, time was measured differently, the concept of numbering years were pointless because everyone lived millions long we only counted days and months as they passed."

"I was born in the middle of an unnamed week, into the first lineage of the Tsung Royal family, for that specific era, my father was the sole King, and on the horizons of his Kingdom there was a war against the middle realm brewing."

"With the Godslayers turning their backs on Liufang, the realm descended into chaos, fearing the spread of this chaos into the middle and upper realns, the Kings of Chundu and the Kings of Fanren created a Coalition and they attacked Luifang with the sole purpose of total annihilation."

"Ever since the moment I was born, the only thing I have ever known is war."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
