Chapter 510: Suggestions

Chapter 510: Chapter 510: Suggestions

Because he had promised Ouyang Feifei to visit Ouyang Lingyun together, Luo Ziling, after leaving some calligraphy for Ouyang Feifei, didn’t leave right away but went with her to the Ouyang Family’s villa.

Originally, Luo Ziling had planned to go with Ouyang Huihui, but since Ouyang Feifei suggested the two of them go together, Luo Ziling didn’t contact Ouyang Huihui anymore. Judging by how Ouyang Feifei acted, she didn’t seem to intend to invite Ouyang Huihui to join them at home, which Luo Ziling found a bit strange.

However, after thinking about how often Ouyang Huihui caused trouble, he felt not calling Ouyang Huihui to come back with them was a wiser decision.

Luo Ziling went to Ouyang Feifei’s office at two o’clock in the afternoon, and he didn’t attend the advanced mathematics class that followed. Anyhow, Teacher Wang Tongshan wouldn’t make things difficult for him, and since Luo Ziling couldn’t understand the material, he felt quite at ease skipping the class.

When Luo Ziling and Ouyang Feifei arrived at the Ouyang Family’s villa, it was just four o’clock in the afternoon. Ouyang Lingyun was drinking tea in the pavilion in the middle of the pond. Seeing Luo Ziling and Ouyang Feifei come in, he immediately called them over to join him for tea.

Luo Ziling made himself at home, plopping down next to Ouyang Lingyun and said with a grinning face, “I came today to mooch some of Sir Ouyang’s fine tea.”

Ouyang Lingyun was drinking a top-grade Da Hong Pao, a tea so rare that it commands a price comparable to gold. As soon as Luo Ziling smelled the aroma, he began to crave it.

After exchanging greetings with Ouyang Lingyun, Ouyang Feifei began to make tea for Luo Ziling.

Seeing how well Luo Ziling and Ouyang Feifei got along, with Ouyang Feifei acting quite well-behaved, Ouyang Lingyun couldn’t help but reveal a kindly smile.

The two seemed to be getting along harmoniously, which was much better than the relative strangeness they’d shown the last time they met. In any case, Ouyang Lingyun was adamant about one thing: he hadn’t agreed to Luo Ziling’s request to call off the engagement. He planned to find an appropriate opportunity to discuss the matter with Luo Liansheng and Ling Ruonan.

After Ouyang Feifei finished preparing the tea, Ouyang Lingyun immediately asked about her collaboration with Luo Ziling.

Ouyang Feifei didn’t hide anything, telling Ouyang Lingyun everything. She also mentioned Luo Ziling’s plan to cooperate with Dragon Rise in manufacturing a special antiseptic medicine for treating wounds.

“Ziling, Feifei is right; you don’t have any experience with partnerships. If you just rush into a collaboration with the people from Dragon Rise, you might get taken advantage of without even realizing it,” Ouyang Lingyun said to Luo Ziling with a chuckle, “What’s more important is that even if you do get cheated, there is nothing much you dare to do about it. You should know that working with them entails significant risks and there’s no place to reason with them!”

After thinking it over, Luo Ziling also agreed with Ouyang Lingyun’s words. The people from Dragon Rise couldn’t be judged by the same standards as ordinary people; whether it was Li Haiyang or anyone else, they weren’t known for being reasonable.

If he did get cheated by them, there really was nowhere to turn to. Who would dare to offend them?

But in the end, he simply replied, “Well, I’ll discuss it with Senior Li Haiyang again before making a decision. After all, I told him last time that I didn’t know the specific formula for the medicine.”

“You should know by now, right?” Ouyang Lingyun said with a knowing smile and a twinkle in his eyes.

“I do,” Luo Ziling didn’t conceal anything, “Grandpa gave me some of the medical formulas and told me to find a way to make money.”

“Cooperating with our Ouyang Family is the best way for you to make money,” Ouyang Lingyun pointed to Ouyang Feifei beside him, declaring proudly, “With the younger generation of the Ouyang Family, like Feifei, things are getting better and better. Under her management, the Ouyang Family’s business has reached new heights. Working with her, you won’t have to worry about anything.”

As he spoke, he added with great seriousness, “Moreover, our Ouyang Family has always won people over with sincerity, not to mention cooperating with an old friend. Even if one day we go bankrupt, we will definitely not cheat the Luo Family.”

These words deeply touched Luo Ziling, and Ouyang Feifei was also quite surprised.

But Ouyang Lingyun didn’t dwell on this matter, merely suggesting that Luo Ziling and Ouyang Feifei should have a good talk and discuss any issues with Ouyang Feifei. He again cautioned Ouyang Feifei that she must never cheat Luo Ziling, to which Ouyang Feifei naturally agreed.

After chatting for a while, Ouyang Lingyun gave Ouyang Feifei a meaningful glance. Understanding his intention, Ouyang Feifei excused herself to change her clothes and left first.

Once Ouyang Feifei had left, Ouyang Lingyun immediately asked Luo Ziling, “I heard that Fang Dongxun was injured by someone?”

“Perhaps he’s committed too many misdeeds and met with misfortune,” Luo Ziling replied without a change in expression.

Ouyang Lingyun looked at Luo Ziling intently for a moment before finally just laughing it off lightly and remarking, “Actually, someone being too arrogant and getting a lesson isn’t such a bad thing. Some people really need to be taught a lesson, or they’ll think they’re the only ones who can bully others.”

Luo Ziling didn’t quite understand what Ouyang Lingyun meant and could only vaguely agree. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

“Ziling, I have mentioned you several times to Feifei and feel that your actions are somewhat unreasonable,” Ouyang Lingyun said while sipping tea, looking at Luo Ziling with a compassionate expression, “You’ve caused quite a few problems for your mother. Many matters have made things difficult for her. I think, these years haven’t been easy for her, and you should be more understanding and considerate toward her, so as not to make her position too difficult.”

Shocked by these words, Luo Ziling said, “Please, Sir Ouyang, I welcome more advice.”

“Your mother is currently trying to avoid provoking the Yang Family because you all had agreed never to see each other in a lifetime. Regardless of whether the decision back then was reasonable, it was a promise. You trying to change the status quo now and wanting to reunite the family will likely be accepted by the Yang Family eventually. But you’re going about it too directly now, even being openly together with the Yang Family’s granddaughter.”

As he spoke, Ouyang Lingyun’s expression became more stern, “This could not only anger the Yang Family but also put your mother in a tough spot. And, the elders of the Ling Family may not view you favorably. In a few days, it’s Sir Ling’s ninetieth birthday. It’s a good opportunity for you to get them to accept you again. If your affair with the Yang Family’s granddaughter causes their anger, not only will you have trouble being accepted by them, but your mother will be implicated as well.”

After hearing this, Luo Ziling fell silent, at a loss for how to respond.

Ouyang Lingyun, too, perfectly timed his silence without adding anything further.

It wasn’t until they were eating dinner together that he shared more thoughts on the matter, “Actually, letting out the news about your former engagement to Feifei might produce an unexpected effect. If the Yang Family wants to go after you, they’ll have to show some respect to the Ouyang Family, and the other families would do the same.”

To think that Ouyang Lingyun would say something similar, Luo Ziling appeared very astonished and was even more at a loss for words. When he looked at Ouyang Feifei, he saw that she seemed unconcerned, not even glancing in his direction, just gracefully enjoying her meal.

Many people had said similar things, and Luo Ziling felt somewhat persuaded.
