Chapter 880
Chapter 880: A Prayer For His Safety
The genuine look of concern on his uncle’s face made the young boy nod.
“I will, Uncle.” Sept muttered before revealing a rare smile that somehow brought a shiver down his uncle’s spine.
‘He looks just like his mother when he smiles that way...’ Sevenz shuddered when he was once again reminded that Sept was a perfect combination of his scary elder brother and that sinister sister-in-law of his.
He could not, with a right conscience, ever call Sept’s deceased mother a good friend as he only had terrifying memories of her in his mind.
Nevertheless, he would still accept that he was close to her despite how terrifying that woman could be.
After all, she was not someone who concealed treacherous intentions that could ruin someone behind a kind and warm smile.
‘No, that woman would let you know that she has plans to ruin you...’ He gulped when he thought of how with a gentle smile she would quite openly threaten to end those who crossed her.
.....
Unlike others who acted in the dark while maintaining a facade of courtesy, she did everything out in the open and never hid her intentions.
You would know if you were being schemed against as she had never liked to hide it.
Now looking at Sept whose smile resembled his mother’s and recalling that sinister light that had flashed across his eyes a moment ago, Sevenz was sure that the boy had inherited not just her good appearance but quite a few of her other characteristics as well.
However, he would never despise his nephew just as he had not despised his sister-in-law.
However, even her scheming mind could not have kept her safe so him being worried about the child was understandable.
‘I just hope that he keeps himself safe.’ Sevenz prayed for the sake of his nephew’s life and health which would be at risk once he returned to his father’s side.
With this, the conversation between the two men with slightly similar features came to an end.
___
On the other side of the town,
Unaware of his new friend’s upcoming departure from the Kingdom, Howard was reading while lying in bed.
There were still a few hours left before his sparring session with Yvonne so he had decided to finish reading the book that would be included in their curriculum for the next half of the year at the Academy.
He had been spending a major portion of his time having fun with his friends and today he had headed outside with his sister.
Therefore, he was determined to reach the end of this book that he had read halfway previously.
He would have to return to the Academy soon and with the next half of the year beginning right away, he would not have the time to cope with the high amount of workload if he continued slacking now.
For this reason, he had sat down to read as soon as he had entered his room.
He had asked a servant to remind him before it was time for his meeting with Yvonne so that he might be ready before she was.
She would be expecting him to go all out during their practice match but he was hellbent on keeping the vow he had made to himself.
Thus he had hurried away previously when she was shooting him the suspecting glance and would stay away from her line of sight until it was time for the match.
Having reached this conclusion, Howard tossed all thoughts aside to focus on the book so that he might be able to practice with Vonny later on.
__
Yvonne had no clue that her elder brother had already made plans to trick her when they met later on.
She, right now, was surprisingly in the Piano Room which she had not entered for the past many days.
After her classes with Governess Lester had come to an end, she rarely visited this place as she had other matters to focus on.
While she did come by once in a while, it was nowhere close to how she had been when her classes were still in progress.
However, having learned and practiced quite seriously with the scary governess, Yvonne had the confidence of playing well even if she skipped a few days.
She had appeared here today as she had heard music coming from this room a while ago.
Yvonne had been resting ever since the family had gone their separate ways after lunch.
She had already changed into comfortable clothes and was laying in bed when she heard the subtle sounds of the piano reaching all the way to her room.
Possessing aura came in handy at such moments as it helped her hear the music even when the Piano room was on a different floor and the other side of the mansion.
She had already sent Mrs. Jacinth and Roselie for their afternoon break so she was alone when she walked out of her room and in the direction of the sound.
Passing her elder brother’s room, she could sense that he was still inside but did not seem to be bothered by the music.
Hence she did not disturb him but silently made her way downstairs.
During this time of the day, there were no servants wandering around the mansion as it was the time for them to rest as well.
Only a chosen few were left on each floor to look after the needs of their masters if they were called for.
However, the little girl did not bother them but made her way toward the source of the sound.
She had already guessed who it could be and once she opened the door, her speculation was proven right.
Even though she had walked in, the person seated before the piano did not stop but continued playing.
Yvonne smiled at how talented this person was as she walked toward the grand piano.
The other person had noticed her presence by now but did not look at her, instead, he focused on the piece he was playing.
Only when he was done did he turn towards her and gave her a wide smile.
“Would you like to join me, Vonny?” Roman offered while scooting towards one corner of the seat.
Yvonne would often share this seat with Governess Lester during their classes so she knew that they would have no problem sitting on it at once.
She had been enjoying the look of happiness that was evident on her brother’s face as he drowned himself in the music.
Therefore, when she was offered a chance to play with him, she accepted it at once.
“Which one shall we try?” He inquired while patting her head gently.
There were rare occasions when they could spend time together, just the two of them, so he was happy to see that she hadn’t rejected his offer but was excited to be with him.
Yvonne did not know the joy bubbling in her cousin’s heart as she seriously scanned the notes that were placed on the table next to the piano.
“This one!” She declared and pointed towards a cheerful duet that could liven anyone’s mood.
Roman had no opinions as he would have played anything with Vonny so he agreed right away and placed the music score before them.
The two cousins glanced at each other before nodding, indicating that they were ready and soon, jovial music filled the room and even resonated to the ones nearby.
The piece Yvonne had chosen indeed was lively and anyone who heard it was affected by it.
